Looking for New Maintainers

Hey all, I'm looking for some help with reviving the collectibles section! I'd love to breathe life into this area again, where people could be excited to talk about all the OP goods that are constantly being sold and show off their collections. If you've got a passion for collectibles and is interested in volunteering to help grow and take care of this section of the forums, let's talk.

The collectibles section here has always been a favorite of mine, so it was disappointing to see it sort of fizzle out over time despite the merchandise scene still going strong in other corners of the internet. I haven't stopped collecting cool One Piece merch that catches my eye, even almost 20 years later. I'd love to see this section grow again, and while I'm not sure exactly what you guys are looking for I'd love to lend a hand whenever and wherever possible, if possible.

As everyone can see, I yanked out the section for exposure. I've also made the section visible by guests as well now, but if this village picks up steam again I'd consider putting it back to registered only.

As for what I'm looking for... the people who petitioned for this section took great care in organizing the threads on their own, and that's something I wish we could have again. A group of people to moderate and operate it. I was trying to think of what I could give to entice. I could keep posting news as I see them, but as I'm seeing in other threads I'm sometimes just talking to myself. It's ultimately a community effort, so as long as we have that, the people can give me advice on what I can provide to support it.

I like to keep an eye on what's being released, so I was a bit saddened that this part of the forum died over the years as well. My main OP-related buy are the volumes (they are quite expensive here in Brazil), but I'd like to eventually buy the Colorwalks. I never got the gist of international buying and shipping so I'm not that into the rest of the merchandise (I usually don't fancy most OP merch to be honest, too).

to be fair, it got costly over time by barely any motive besides to compensate the low printing.

really? I'm surprised. I thought that it was selling quite well, since there was enough demand for the 3-in-1 editions.

@puffing-cinema No no no there demand, it's usually not a good prospect demand. Haikyuu got 100k first volumes sold it as far as I'm aware it's one of the best selling single volumes of manga here.

During the pandemic both Panini and JBC took the chance to price gauge and since our comic market is a whale one, well they got scot free with it.

oh, I see. I thought that since comics weren't a priority for anybody during the pandemic, they'd rise the prices a bit to compensate the costs. Turns out that entertainment was still at a high demand and people kept buying things and now we are stuck with inhumanly high prices for the whole comic industry. And they'll get away with it anyway, goddamit.
