Small trivia:.The names of Zoro's family members are all related to Japanese traditional dice gambling.
Pinzoro (grandfather): double ones
Furiko (grandmother): A person who rolls a dice.
Arashi (father): Triple same numbers
Tera (mother): It's based on Tera-Zeni, meaning vigorish, a type of charge taken by gambling companies.
So Oda probably talked to Toei about the gambling scene with Yasuie and Zoro that was added

Wano predictions: There will be 5 acts; All Straw Hats will get fights, some in Act 4; Big Mom Pirates will arrive; Carrot will have her moment, but won't join; Yamato will be a Kouzuki samurai and Wano's Guardian; Shanks will visit Luffy in Act 5; Next arc is Mary Geoise.
I get the impression that Arashi wanted to name his son after his dad, but also didn't quite like "Pinzoro", so he and his wife Terra just settled on "Zoro" as a result.
When speculating about who might also be a descendant of someone of the group of 25 that left Wano, since only 10 of them stayed in what would become Shimotsuki Village, some options that come to mind:
Ipponmatsu. Would make sense of him having Sandai Kitetsu (forged by Sukiyaki and probably given to someone in the 25 group), while also recognizing Wado Ichimonji at first sight (one of Kozaburo's finest creations) and having a Meito as a family heirloom (Yubashiri). The clearly Japanese name might also add to this, and it makes sense that even though not all of the 15 remaining people stayed in Shimotsuki, some of them might have settled in other parts of East Blue (like Loguetown)
Tashigi. Fujitora is 54 years old, so he could have been born from either a woman from that 25 people group that was already pregnant prior to leaving or from a man that settled on some island from either Paradise or the New World. Also his clearly Japanese attire that is obviously because of Shintaro Katsu's Zatoichi, but that when translated into an in-universe explanation might be because of his upbringing.
Sentomaru. Same reasoning as the above though Sentomaru might be the grandson of someone of the group of 25 rather than the son (though another likely option is that he's from Wano proper and Vegapunk rescued him if MADS visited Wano)
Also related to this, I'm almost confident that Higurashi (and maybe Semimaru) also escaped from Wano 55 years ago with Kozaburo's group. The timeline matches up with what's told in 965 about Orochi's grandfather demise and the Kurozumi's persecution, with Higurashi straight up mentioning that she's been out of the country. This might also mean that Higurashi (and perhaps others among the 25) joined Rocks at some point. After all, she displays the faces of Shiki and what could arguably be young Buckin and Rocks was active at least 43 to 38 years ago (Higurashi returned to Wano 41 years ago which is when she met up with Orochi and gave him his DF), which might also be related to why she went to Kaido around 28 years ago to propose him to settle in Wano. Though at this point I also wouldn't be surprised if Shiki, Silver Axe or Ochoku might also be from Wano or related to one of those 15.

@access-timeco Zoro's backstory has always been a bit of the odd duck compared to the rest of the Straw Hat family. He's the only one in the East Blue saga whose home isn't visited (we don't even know where it is), he's the only who gets flashbacks sprinkled throughout that aren't related to any one arc, what we do get is missing many of the quirks Oda typically puts in character backstories, there's the peculiar choice of including first person POV shots in quite a few of those flashbacks, and Zoro himself is something of an unreliable source just because he naturally recounts the bare minimum stripped of context.
The Pirate Hunter epithet in particular also stuck out for that last reason just because the way Zoro tells it he never considered himself a bounty hunter and only fought pirates when he was strapped for cash and happened to be in the neighborhood - a far cry from the relentless bloodthirsty monster in human skin other characters describe - and later scenes in East Blue suggest he wasn't terribly happy collecting bounties. He even had weirdly specific opinions about pirates that never got elaborated on and are still a little incongruous with the knowledge that Shimotsuki Kozaburo was a pirate.
Though have the feeling revenge isn't on the table in terms of Zoro's dad being killed by pirates. All the way back in Skypiea Zoro said something about not liking to fight for revenge, and the information we're given here potentially reframes that line as meaning Zoro's already tested the waters on taking revenge and decided he didn't care for it.
What I want to know is what the hell Zoro's living arrangement was like back in his village. Between the end note mentioning Zoro knows nothing about all this, him not knowing that Kozaburo was Kuina's grandfather, his parents most likely dying before Kuina, and his absolute peak "We good, champ? You work that one out?" moment in Wano when he wonders if the family Shimotsuki and village Shimotsuki are somehow related, he sure as hell wasn't living in the house.

Same with say, Sanji finding All Blue. He finds it and then... what? Just stays there forever? Sets up a shop? Tells other people where it is?
Zoro beats Mihawk and then becomes world's greatest swordsman. Then what? He passes out and dies? He fights off nobodies and gets bored like Mihawk does? He just stops training then and lets that skill decay? He spends the rest of his life on people not worth his time? Or he travels around looking for new challenges and talent to inspire? Does he start looking for all the great swords like Tashigi?
Brook wants to meet Laboon again. He could have gone backwards from Thriller bark if that was all he really wanted. Instead he wants to finish the full round the globe trip. But after that then what? Spend the rest of his life hanging out in a harbor with the whale?
Usopp is become a brave warrior. And then..?
There are goals, which are achievable and have a final stopping victory point, and then there are DREAMS which last a lifetime, The dreams don't have that stopping point.
It's maybe significant the Jinbe hasn't had a stated dream. Its implied "ease racial tensions" but that's clearly never going to fully happen, that's an impossible one, so he's not going to say it out loud. "Travel with the Pirate King and show humans and fishmen can be friends while I have fun for the first time in my life?" There we go!
"I want to be a writer!" someone writes a book and gets it published. If they REALLY want to be a writer, they don't stop there, they keep writing more. That's how dreams are.
Chopper can mark off his dream fulfilled when he cures I'll-Die-If-I-Go-To-That-Island Disease.

I just thought Pinzoro was a friend of Kozaburo who fled with him outta Wano but Oda stated the Roronoa clan is 100% from east blue which is boring.
Also an explanation is required on why a princess of Ringo fled the country with her criminal cousin ? what was their motive ?
Oda is cheap to Zoro compared to the ultra boring power ranger family who had an entire arc contributing nothing to the story.
Feels good being a Sanji fan right about now and having had the best post-timeskip arc partially dedicated to his background.

On the recap, the Strawhats' portraits have changed. From volume 62 they started using a variety of panels from the return to Sabaody to have post-timeskip designs, and those sat until volume 92, when they switched to showing the Wano disguises with snapshots taken from the volume 91 cover. Now we're back on regular outfits, but the panels are taken from all across the post-timeskip era, from Sabaody to Onigashima.
I'm sure there are superfans out there who could tell you exactly where each panel is from just by looking.

@All-Fiction When I try to think about this within the perspective of the characters of the story, I can only imagine a kid that has been fucked up for life because of the side effects of what amounts to perhaps his last decent meal and when seeking refuge in medicine and doctors, the doctor in question just goes "well, ehrm, that's actually not technically a disease so that's out of my capabilities so you're screwed for life but don't be too disappointed kiddo :)"
What hurts is that Chopper makes no comment about this whatsoever. None. No acknowledgment of his limitations as a doctor (if he's indeed content with not tackling things that are supposedly out of his field), no self-reflection on what his two years of training should have amounted to, nothing.
Let's not forget that Chopper experiments with his DF powers since even before joining the crew. And he's a Zoan. SMILEs are artificial Zoans. Was there no way for Chopper to try to do anything with modified Rumble Balls that allow the SMILE users to be "normal" for even half an hour? Anything at all?
It's clear that Oda didn't want to tackle the topic whatsoever during Wano's epilogue, and we are already 15 chapters deep into Egghead and no comment so far to the smartest man in the world who is also treating the Punk Hazard kids about it either so it's something that has been dropped off almost completely.
The blame is on us readers for expecting a character-driven development from the already declared mascot of the series, whose whole purpose is selling merchandise and looking cute and childish.

Semantics, but as I see it, his drugs influence the physiology of his human/animal bits which in turn alters the transformation. It's like how Lucci used Life Return's advanced muscle control to change his body shape and make a more slender hybrid form when he needed it. Chopper basically does that with steroids instead of martial arts.
Basically he has medicines that impact the body his Devil Fruit gives him, rather than the powers and side effects of the Devil Fruit itself. Which is a fine line, I know, I know.

@Captain-M He clearly states that the Rumble Ball messes with the DF's wavelength, so it clearly affects the manifestation of the powers, not just his physiology. And even if it was limited to just his physiology... emotional incontinence is an actual thing where you have uncontrollable episodes of laughter and crying and anger and so forth and that is treated with antidepressants that can alleviate the symptoms to some extent. Are brain injuries or emotional disturbances not related to physiology either?
And even if your conjecture was right and Chopper's experimentation on his drugs had no effect or application whatsoever on SMILE users because of some nitty-gritty explanation like yours, Oda could still have twisted it with whatever he investigated in Torino Kingdom. Hell, the only thing we have seen in all of the timeskip regarding Chopper's drugs is that he needed Caesar's formula to extent the duration of Monster Point. There's simply no focus on him or his accomplishments.
@Goukan I'd be interested to see some translation notes on the wavelength comment. Official says [the Rumble Ball] "is a medicine that can modify the transformation powers of the Devil Fruit" and all the translations I can see that mention frequencies or wavelengths are from ancient Japanese to Chinese to English scanlations.
The archive I've got for Stephen's old translations pulls up a 404 for that chapter, otherwise I'd defer to him for a tiebreaker.
Anyway, do we take a Smile user's laughter as the Devil Fruit forcing an emotional incontinence on them, or does it take from the more mystical side of it? It's not like you would say a Devil Fruit user is allergic to seastone or being submerged in any kind of medically treatable way, it's just bad for them because it is. They laugh because that's what the fruit did to them, not because they've developed an actual emotional disorder.
We know there's a genetic component to having a Devil Fruit power, plenty of discussions from the series scientists have pointed to the nature of a user's power being discernible from their bloodline elements, but the actual powers and drawbacks exist outside of regular biology and physics.
Unless Chopper becomes an expert in genetics, it's impossible for him to treat what is essentially a genetic side-effect.
It's like asking him to treat shortness. At that point, you're better off asking Ivankov.
I'm happy to find someone who shares my opinion on Chopper's dream. I always find that the community gives excessive importance to this phrase of Chopper. As Lord Gaimon said, this was never addressed again after his flashback. On the countrary, we have seen him failing in being able to cure people like the kids in Punk Hazard but it has never been put in relation with his dream.
Not every Strawhat dream is at the same level. Of course Luffy will be pirate king, Brook will see Laboon again and Sanji will find All blue. But we will probably never see Nami drawing all the map of the world and I doubt Usopp will ever be the brave warrior he imagines to be.
Also the dream importance can be questioned when Jinbei which dream was never given a panel we can refer to has joined whereas Yamato which dream was said multiple times didn't.
The real problem is just that this wasn't covered in the main story,
For instance, it would be cool if Chopper at least had a scene examining the Smile victims and coming to the conclusion that a cure is beyond his ability right now.
But you know what would be even better? If on top of that, Chopper found a treatment to alleviate the symptoms. You don't fix the genetic origin, but you do something to make people's lives better.
Chopper does have experience with manipulating DF effects via medicine (i.e.: Rumble Balls).
IMO, it would be a win-win: you have Chopper caring, you have DF side-effects not easily removed, and you have victims getting some sort of relief.

OK, real talk, Zoro did get an additional flashback in Wano that's about the length of Sanji's additional one. His family is irrelevant, unlike Sanji's, so it was the right call to cut. As for characterization, um the rooftop? Seriously did Zoro fans forget they were crowing about the rooftop, cutting kaido, enma, all the focus in Act ii, panel count, and so on. Zoro ISN'T Sanji goes both ways.

I think Sanji might be from somewhere else. His old picture was his first post-timeskip appearance, but it's a different panel now. But with no background or outfit to lock it in I didn't even bother looking for it. If I had to take a shot in the dark I'd aim for Whole Cake, given how much Sanji that arc had.
Nami's hair looks like it's tied back, which I think would make it a Whole Cake Island or early Wano look.
Franky definitely has Punk Hazard hair, but I couldn't find exactly when. I actually had a decent look for this one because I thought it'd be funny if they were using a shot from when Nami was in his body, but no luck.
Brook and Jinbe I've got no idea.
Brook is from WCI, I think. I believe when he fights Big Mom.
Jinbe is from his return in Wano, it's the panel when he officially joins the crew (when they are going to Onigashima, start of Act 3)

I totally buy the passion excuse. He started catching fire in Thriller Bark as a gag, it just builds up from there. It also helps explain where Luffy's Red Hawk flames come from.

I think that it's a positive that Oda is aware of it. I can see Chopper possibly bringing those thoughts back of when he couldn't do something as motivation when he addresses the next medical dilemma. Reiju helped Luffy, no one could address the SMILE, when he helped those affected by Queen's Ice Oni and Mummy, etc.

I give up on Franky. Been trying to find that for a minute. Tried to narrow it down to Punk Hazard, but he didn't wear the coat for a while. Most times with Nami, his eyes were shifted to hers, and he donned the Shogun/switched hair and coat after. Hmm.

It seems that every Yonko has a different patent within thir group: Captain, Chief, Admiral and Chairmain/President.
@ea77 It's not from Punk Hazard, it's from chapter 653 right before leaving Fishman Island.
The one that is from PH is Nami's. It's from chapter 657 when they find Kinemon's head.
Sanji is from the group shot of chapter 633, when the whole crew confronts the New Fishman Pirates.
Nami is from the Punk Hazard chapter in which they first met Kinemon. It is the panel, in which she asks him, if he doesn't like her outfit.
I was watching the little promo for V. 105 and noticed that this is NOT the official coloring of Egghead.
At the very last frames of the animation, you find out these colors were inverted. The real coloring appears once the colors are normalized, at the end.
