Also the Grandfleet has Giants, Dwarves, a Long Arm and a Long Leg, and the crew has a Fishman, so we’re in dire need of a Mink to help complete the crews inclusion of all races

Be that as it may, since I just got blocked a second time, I can safely assume that Electricmastro is indeed a narcissistic millennial who lacks any sense of self reflection. Wano ruined the Mink tribe for me so having Carrot replace the insignificant characters on Vol. 25's cover is hilarious (I know this was probably not the intention).

Something about Buggy being Yonko feels so satisfying. Way more deserving than Nika Man. 1 has barely been a pirate for 3-4 years and is building a crew of misfits. The other has been around for a long time, fought alongside Roger, attracted Croc and Mihawk, mentioned by the great WB when he's not around, became Warlord with little to no effort.
Buggy and Alvida being the Pirate King crew in the end would be almost as cool as Luffy doing it.

If it helps you any better understand this, it was not a jab at millennials as a whole. I said "millennial narcissist" which is a specific kind of millennial respectively a specific kind of narcissist. It's not that different from saying teenage troll, adult troll etc. It's not a jab at the age group, more classifying which kind of troll respectively narcissist we're talking about here.
As for this being an actual insutl. That's not what the notion was. If it was an insult I would have said it to them directly in the where I addressed their behaviour. I was merely naming a specific kind of behaviour I saw confirmed. It just the same like when we confirm a poster to be a troll for the corresponding behaviour. We don't throw the entire urban dictionary definition of a troll at these guys, we just use the word troll and know what it means. Same here. Though I do admit that I might not 100% sure that what I used is the proper term. So if there's a more adecuate term (preferably of a mystic creature) that describes the behaviour in question here, I'd be the first to thank you for educating me on the proper terminology.
Please don't think, I threw this out lightly. There is in fact a precedent to all of this. But I've let it slide and kept quiet about it. Then when this Yamato madness started, I kept quiet because with the precedent it really would have felt like me just being a bully if I pointed this out without being involved in whatever subject the Yamato wanking got thrown in. Even though I personally find it rude, but if the parties involved don't feel bothered by it, who am I to tell them differently.
But this time, I've been actually involved. We discussed something completely different and then suddenly WHAM! "screw you, I want to make this about Yamato"! Nah mate, not gonna let this one stand. As a matter of fact, I don't think I've been really rude even. I could have been much, MUCH harsher if I was allowed to speak my mind, believe that.
Be that as it may, the way how they reacted was all I needed to see in order to confirm my lingering suspicion. That being that Electricmastro is exactly the kind of poster I labelled them as. Just as I would label a troll as such once they'd reveal themselves to be one. The only thing I'll gladly be corrected on, is having chosen the wrong term. But not for calling out an attitude that I think opens the doors to a dangerous precedent.

I hear that new kids come into reading One Piece for the first time so often, it gets to the point that they start reading from the first chapter they stumble on. I recall in a previous SBS that Oda felt to explain readers who didn't know the Straw Hats had a ship before the Sunny because they just didn't read the chapters with the Going Merry in them.
Makes me wonder even now how many readers' first chapter was an Egghead chapter.

Pretty funny seeing Millennial used to mean teenage troll in this day and age. Even the youngest Millennials are coming up on their thirties and most are there already. The oldest Zoomers are in their mid twenties by now so you can't even make them completely synonymous with adolescence.
Anyway I hate when the cover gets revealed without being revealed like this, and we have to wait for the final colours. I know this one came from the Jump scans, but even with the last few they were dropping the process video without the final design. I want to add it to the compilation already, give me something I can use!

The funny thing is actually that this is not what I said. I didn't say millennial narcissist means teenage troll. I merely used the later term to show another example of a term where the first word refers to the age while the second word refers to the attitude. I'm all up for being criticized but if you do so then at least criticize me for what I actually said and not for something you came up with. ;)
I always enjoy watching the cover process.
The idea for the cover was pretty much set in stone from the start. I thought at least Carrot's spot would be tinkered with, but no, she's there since the first draft. Oda sure knew what he wanted.

@redon So the very first sketch had Pwngoat and the miner in it. Was he just recreating volume 25 directly to reference, or was the first idea to get everyone from the original cover back?
The version with Luffy and Blackbeard fighting is an interesting alternative as well. Might have given some people the wrong idea about where the story would go though.

Nah, there's a specific kind of behaviour they showed indicative of what I called millennial narcissists. It clearly differs from narcissists of older generations. I knew exactly what I was aiming with that assessment and got it confirmed.
But to get back to your actual point. Wasn't your question that most of the users in this forum would be millennials anyways? To which my reply was that APF is quite old (I mean I joined 2005). And considering that the discussions between 2005 and 2010 when I was around, seemingly didn't involve kids age 5 to 10, I would have assumed that the vast majority of the original APF members (of which there's still quite a number of people around) was born before the year 2000. I just added the last part as a disclaimer just in case.

It's possible Oda did what he did for Carrot to keep her in mind even after we left her for Egghead. And more details we could have wanted to give for Carrot were prob treated as back burner material for later since Act 3 as it did didn't provide the framework to present them in a way Oda would have liked, since Act 3's ending was pretty focused on Momo all things considered.
One positive is that I don't think there will be an arc that focuses on Momo that heavily ever again, since characters like Carrot whenever Oda is ready can be brought back in a way Oda is more comfortable with, and not just be jokes used on covers.
If that was Oda's goal with all of the non-Luffy/Momo stuff, then I suppose that was one of the better ways to go about it, for as much as I wish things could have been different time-wise.
Yeah, in the process video, you can tell that he first redraws a rough sketch of volume 25's cover. Luffy, Blackbeard, and Buggy are all wearing their pre-TS clothes and Sengoku's goat is placed in the center. I assume his was to use for reference for the overall format. He then creates a new layer and begins drawing the updated volume 105 version of the composition.

@StrawHatJedi Just interesting that he chose to redraw (well, resketch) it when there'd be a ton of easy ways to put the actual original art up on his canvas to reference instead.
What if Carrot being on the cover is a foreshadowing that the original goat is a mink and has a strong mind of his own all along.
Joking aside, it's okay. I think it's fine, carrot does look out of place, but it does what it is supposed to do (to be used as a comparison to the old one) and eh, shanks could be a little more menacing but I love Buggy's pose. Blackbeard just looks awkward here.

Yeah, I’ve pretty much concluded that part of the reason Oda had Carrot there is to get reaction from fans in such a way as to better keep Carrot in mind for later. Oda got a big reaction from people when he halfway cut off Carrot’s response to the mink leadership offer, so the Zodiac joke would really just be a bonus if anything.
Regardless of how people feel towards Carrot herself, then fact that as many people are talking about her even now and what happened to her can speak volumes, even though she’s not at Egghead right now. If Oda’s main intention was to keep Carrot in mind while she’s away, then I suppose Oda did rather well in accomplishing that intention.

@Captain-M Good question, I predict we will reach around 120 volumes, but can't say if it will be slightly less or slightly more than that.
Wano predictions: There will be 5 acts; All Straw Hats will get fights, some in Act 4; Big Mom Pirates will arrive; Carrot will have her moment, but won't join; Yamato will be a Kouzuki samurai and Wano's Guardian; Shanks will visit Luffy in Act 5; Next arc is Mary Geoise.
@Captain-M I expect Egghead to be similar to Punk Hazard in length. Something like 3-4 volumes (after 105).

@electricmastro Makes sense I guess. The minks didn't get much to do during the setup phase, and her challenge and subsequent loss to Perospero happened during the major characters only three-part cover set. Not many other places you could justify putting her.
With Oda's track record of bloating arcs, def betting on it overfilling another row. I don't know how long Elbaf will be but if it's given the same treatment as Dressrosa and Wano I'd expect 7-10 volumes. And then the same amount for the final war.
Looking into length of the New World arcs to predict how much "the Final Saga" could take:
To be frank, I don't think we will ever have something as legthy as Wano ever again. I could see the entire final saga fitting somewhere close to it.
I can also see Oda combining a lot of arcs. Like how Egghead seems to show not just Vegapunk but other snippets from the world, so everything gets moving. While I want Elbaf to get its deserved treatment, I doubt it'll be just Elbaf.
So I guess my big question is if Elbaf and the Final War will be seperate, or perhaps they'll be part of the same thing.
I'm going to be pretty salty if the Strawhats don't at least get to visit Elbaf. It doesn't have to be a big arc, a handful of volumes is fine, but after all this time we gotta do something there. And only then, onward into the final battle in whatever form it's taking.
It'll be interesting to see what the Egghead finale does to set the series' course. Will the crew and their allies squeeze in an escape before the Navy's arrival and get to relatively freely explore another island, or will Borsalino and Saturn crash the end of the survival game and force a more open, escalated conflict between the Strawhats and the Government? In either case there'll still be a Poneglyph to find, but it might give us an indication of how accelerationist Oda's feeling about his plot.
Before Wano ended, I thought there would be more 4 arcs, in order:
The order was off but I still feel those are still the 4 essential stories needed to wrap up the series.
