Love this cover. Different from all the others and uncluttered! Kaido looks a little silly but it fits the series. Always happy to see Law and Kid.
At first I thought the middle section was a tad too empty for how bottom-heavy the design is, but it's definitely grown on me. Still feels a tad weird for Big Mom not to feature on the cover of the volume that's her last hurrah, but looking back she's far from the only major villain to not get the cover for their last volume of relevance.
new forum format relieved you from sticking together all those volumes to make them fit into your sig Captain M.
Which I find a bit sad, cause I used your sig a lot to properly locate chapters that otherwise would´ve taken me some more googling.
vol 104 cover will be a mess, that I guarantee.
Oh I'm absolutely not going to stop doing that without a sig hahaha
I find the compilation useful in all the same ways, plus it's just really nice to look at.
I'm interested to see what 104 is going to be. The volume is split almost exactly down the middle between the last stage of the fight and all the post-battle stuff. What will Oda emphasise more, or will he try to balance the two?
I'm a bit surprised there were only 11 chapters in this volume; the last volume to contain 232 pages was 12 chapters. Is there some other extra content in this volume to fill those extra pages? I notice 1046 starts on page 193, which should end around page 210. I know they have the Usopp's art gallery and SBS, but usually that's not 20+ pages at the back of the volume.
There's an extended Film Red SBS at the end. Preview on the manga's official website here: https://one-piece.com/comic103sbs/
From the amount of space to fill, I have to assume they chose to include all those full-page film posters as they are. That seems to be around ten pages with the posters, plus six to eight pages of fanart and two to four pages of ads, probably for Film Red and the Odyssey game, and you've got a full volume right there.
I would rather have had an extra chapter instead of all that other stuff, but it is what it is.
I really like the color scheme here, but I'm not a big fan of Soy Boy Kaido. Since he is despicted as some kind of Rage Deity in the series, I though we would have that on the cover (would love to see a Mignola style drawing of him). The little video the Editorial department made of the cover composition had a similar idea to the final thing, but we would have Big Mom and Orochi instead of the yonko slayers - a more fitting idea, imo.
I think the last volume will have adult Momo, Yamato and Aramaki. Possibly Buggy, since Oda seems to like to put him on the spot (volume 25 and 80 coming to mind)...
Ah okay, that makes a lot of sense. And I agree, would've preferred an extra chapter, but I guess it is what it is.
Wild that Orochi has never been in any cover. And will remain so to the end.

Orochi along with Big Mom were very close to appear on the cover for volume 103.
I wish the cover only had Luffy on it. Oda's obsession to have multiple character on the cover ruined the perfect cover.
Also, any list of changes in the volume ? I only know about the fix for the punch "through" Kaido's head.
I just saw news in Twitter that Volume 103 sold 2,621,741 copies in august according to Oricon. Am I mistaken or this is the One Piece best selling volume in a long time? Will sales start growing again after a decade of constant decline?
@theackwardstation That's wildly off. Those numbers are from the entire OP series (all the 103 volumes). Volume 103 itself sold 1,793,237 copies.
That, however, is still considerably more than all the last recent volumes (volume 100 excepted, that one got close). The last volume that sold more was 93. The Film Red popularity + the final arc announcement (mainly the first thing) did wonders for OP popularity, with earlier volumes also selling much more than usual. We can't say if that will last, though. My opinion is that it isn't, but stabilizing OP sales for a few volumes is already going to be a great result.
@Lemony thanks for the clarification. It did look unreal for a OP volume to go back at 2.5+ million... but I'm happy that sales are slightly better anyway.

what final arc? the text said something along the lines of final phase or saga...... meaning at least a few arcs left

Japanese language has no such distinction between "arc" and "saga" concepts. They just use one and only word which could vaguely be adapted as both of them ("hen", which has also been adapted as "chapter" or "phase").
Maybe my ability to search is getting rusty, but has anyone found a decent rip of the digital volume now that it's out?
There's a torrent of uncropped screenshots of the ereader that's barely serviceable, but I'd rather have the proper HD version we'd normally have by now.
English cover revealed:
I'm a bit surprised that the brazilian version was almost catching with the japanese, but now has a release window closer to the english one. Our publisher decided to restart everything from the beginning with a 3-in-1 format, only now going back with the original tankabon-based distribution. I wonder why it took 2 new volumes to be released for us to get the 103 volume...probably a mix of lack of manpower and dealing with Shueisha.
