Can't vote(due to being a new member), but if I could it would go to Heart of Gold, animation wise Episode of East Blue and 3D2Y were probably better, but overall I think it's the best say for Mad Treasure.

Thanks to whowever's given me permission to everything that I had inaccessiable, despite it not being my initial intention with this post.

Well, they beat out HoG votes anyways. I’ve never understood why people love 3D2Y. Maybe because there’s a good bit of fighting in it? Idk. That special seemed pretty standard to me.

Of the unique specials, Gold and 3D2Y are about the same quality, but one is Strawhats, and the other is just Luffy, Hancock, Buggy. Both are way better than Nebulandia
As for the Recaps, East Blue is the best, followed by Nami, which I think does a really solid job covering Arlong Park. After that, Sabo is very good, though it doesn't go to the very end of Dressrosa which is disappointing. Then it would be Merry, which is good if you anticipate it only covering the Merry parts of Water Seven (so Robin and Franky's parts aren't in there). Then it has to be Luffy, which is alright, but not that memorable, and Skypiea last unfortunately, so disappointing, how do you not animate half the fights and reuse footage for the flashback, those are like the only two things I wanted reanimated from the special

Nah, it's just that the special wasn't that great (chopped out a lot and the Noland flashback was ripped directly from the TV series instead of being reanimated; jarring didn't begin to describe it). The other recaps were mostly okay aside from Episode of Merry. To this day it's the only piece of animated One Piece media that I've both never watched and have absolutely zero desire ever to.
I never thought that Nevlandia was actively bad so much as it was just really, really weird. But 3D2Y and Heart of Gold are still the ones to beat as far as the original ones go. Episode of Luffy was interesting though in how much more laid back its tone was, like something from the early 00s.

Have to agree honestly, it had potential to explore Luffy's training in Rusukaina, which would've been great because that's my main problem with the jump to the timeskip, we don't really get to see a lot of his training aside of some flashbacks(that were mostly added in the anime) and it makes him becoming stronger feel less earned, but we got very little of that and the result is a pretty average rescue plot with some needless cameos and fanservice.
I think the only saving grace of the special is the animation which, especially near the end is superb, but if were looking at it from only that front I would say that East Blue still beats it and is more enjoyable for people that are already familier with those arcs.
Heart of Gold in comparison had the relationship of Olga and her father which really enhanced the plot and Bonbori's esca was a really nice location, Mad Treasure wasn't better then Byrnndi World as the main antagonist, but overall for something that's supposed to be a simple tie in to Film: Gold, Heart of Gold is really good and one that I think whoever skipped it should go back and give it another chance.

I didn't even watch half of those, but 3d2y had a good Hancock joke so that gets my vote.

The special was a terribly edited clip show (I won’t even call it a recap) that reused old footage for part of it. Someone watching it for the first time (having never heard of Skypeia) wouldn’t be able to follow it, whereas at least the other recaps an outsider wouldn’t have a hard time following.

The only ones here I haven’t seen are episode of Luffy and episode of merry. Started Merry last night because we just finished rewatching all of W7 and Enies Lobby and I was curious how well the special animates the old scenes. For Episode of Luffy, I was waiting to see Funimation dub it, but that seems very unlikely now.
What I already find very successful about EoM is that it has narration, so it doesn’t feel like abrupt jumping so much as Usopp telling Brook the story.
