Am I a jerk?

OK lol, I'm going to try and explain something so bare with me.

OK let's say the latest One Piece Chapter came out just an hour ago. If I then go to thread and discuss that recent chapter, should I be expected to use spoiler tags on my post about the chapter, for the people who for some unknown reasons decide to look at a thread about the chapter who haven't actually read the damn thing?

Am I a dick for thinking that's it's totally on you in this situation to not put yourself in a place to be spoiled?

And btw I'm not talking about anyone here.

I suppose some people would click on a thread to look for a quick link to chapter, if have not read yet. I recall doing so at some point. So maybe screenshots from a chapter would be bad?

Chapter link is usually the first thing on page. And I only use text, never use panels from the Manga.

idk if One Piece stuff fits in General Discussion, maybe would be better in either Manga since it's about manga chapter threads or General One Piece

The forum rules are very clear about that: before the official release is out, you can only discuss anything about the chapter in its spoiler thread, you can't mention anything related to it in other threads (spoiler tag or not). Once the official release is out, you can discuss it anywhere, no need for tags.

So, yeah, spoiler tags are never needed when it comes to One Piece chapters here. The restrictions are "where" you can post about it, not "how".

NTJ (not the jerk) If you come into the Chapter Discussion thread, you should expect any and all spoilers. Same thing in the spoiler thread for those who use it.

There's a subreddit for people to ask whether they are the jerk or not in a situation (It's called Am I the Asshole, for anyone interested). I think this thread could serve that purpose!

You're not a jerk. If they go into a chapter discussion thread expecting people to cover up spoilers for them, they're just dumb.
