What are everyone's thoughts about X Drake this arc? Do you guys think he's drowning with Kaido or is going to switch ships to SH ally by the end of the arc.

I initially was thinking that Luffy is going to have all of Supernovas under his wing but Drake is a wild card the more I think about him. I recently remembered that he was the one who trashed Otama's village. Luffy was told this directly by Hitetsu and he didn't really have a reaction to that information itself, but this is the village where Ace visited and befriended Otama. And we all saw how livid he got at when that scrub Holdem did whatever he did. I'm not really sure at what Luffy is going to feel, lol this is up in the air.

This is a good question. Drake seems to be a decent guy as far as pirates go, but he specifically sought out Kaido to join him. But why?

I think there are three reasons: A. He's still a Marine, albeit deep cover, and is spying on Kaido. B. He wants to take him down, like Bege and Big Mom

And my personal theory, C. Having seen the worst aspects of the OP World, as a pirate and marine, he sought out Kaido, known for wanting the war to end all wars for his own purposes.

Weather Luffy knows what his friends/allies did or not doesn't seem to concern him too much when it's time to work together. Bellamy, Mr 2, Bege and probably 39 other characters went on to be forgiven more or less. Luffy may very well confront Drake about the trashing of Otama's village but he to will easily find his way into Luffy's friend circle. Think about Luffy trying to attack Bege over Pekoms. It'll be brought up and then all's forgiven.

Well, since Drank and the tarot guy are from the same Worst Generation, i bet they all have their own agenda. Oda will gather them all, or most of them, to fight in a "last battle" against the WG and for the freedom of the people. And since they are much inteligent then Luffy and most of the pirates, they sure found out stuff about the Void Century and secrets that are well kept from the ears of common people so they might have a righteous purpose guiding them to make all the decisions that they've made.

I'm not sure what he's going to do, But I don't think he's going down with Kaidou.

All the Supernovas are headstrong people and would not follow anyone else(Except Zoro and Killer). So I think he has his own reasons for joining Kaidou and maybe possibly killing him from the inside. Sort of like what Bege was doing.

However, I hope even if he's not ride or die with Kaidou, he remains an antagonist.

It would be boring if all the Supernovas ended up being Luffy's friend/ally.

Well he seems to have had an agenda from the start. Did he join Kaido to spy on him? Did he join him because he hates WG and thinks he has the best chance of taking it down with him? Did he join him to kill him and take over with time? Did he join him to use as a shield and make steady progress?

In any way, being a devoted Beast Pirate seems like a least likely possibility for me.

On the other hand Hawkins ended up with him by chance and it's a clear choice between being a good boy and rotting in prison.

I doubt that Oda has hinted at Drake's past being relevant to have him just serve under Kaido without any ambition of his own.
As for Hawkins, his powers have dealt more damage to Kaido's crew than it did to Zoro.
Some ninjas are there but they don't seem very strong. I might be very wrong though.

So I guess that Hawkings and Drake will clash with Sanji and Zoro.

Drake is said to have a mission to take out Sanji so he will likely go at it.. Or Oda will twist situation and Zoro will fight Drake and Sanji will get to fight with Hawkings.

Or we will get to see some Kyoshiro hype - where is he right now ? I dont remember where he was said to be during funeral..

I hope that Hawkings will stay as villain till the end. No goofy scenes with him hint at that for me. No jokes from him and guy is ruthless. Leaving Brownbeard alive after cutting off his legs being best proof of that.

If i remember correctly,his father was a marines who then became a pirate,and he hated him when he was a child. Then he took the same road (marine first and then became a pirate). And we also have to remember that as soon as he entered in the New World,the first thing he did was to purposely attack a Kaido island. So he surely has a plan agaisnt Kaido,but i wonder if he is doing this with the Navy or he is just doing it for himself.

There's also that thing where he uses humans as scapegoats regularly.

His design and appearance make it seem like he's an ok dude at times, especially around someone like Kid who's openly an ass, but in truth he's like the definition of evil.

Using others as scapegoats is another aspect that makes me think he will be one of Supernovas who will stay enemy to Strawhats.

It would be great satisfaction to see him running out of his dolls after long fight and then getting pummeled by someone, I would not like him getting cut and going KO, I think I need to see him getting Sanjis Spectre or Luffys Gattling gun taking him out.

Situation with Drake and Hawkins is hard to predict, but from a character design/theme standpoint, Drake has a higher chance to go down with Beast Pirates than Hawkins. I think people know how Oda created the supernovas in one day, right? He did that by incorporating a couple future characters into the lineup, along with a few new creations.

Drake is very obvious intended as part of Beast Pirates storyline from the start, just like how Bege is for Big Mom Pirates and Law is for Donquixote Pirates. Hawkins on the other hand, was originally intended to be Strawhat’s NW Warlord guide, before Law hijacked his job lol. This is why I see Hawkins as the biggest wild card, and the reason he seemed off-theme and out-of-place.

That being said, I don’t think Hawkins would be taken down as a villain. Hawkins is a pretty boy type character, they always get maimed by antagonists, not protagonists. (examples. Law, Cavendish, Ichiji etc.) I tried to think of an exception, but is coming up blank. They appeared to have a lower grade of certain plot immunity as beautiful women lmao

That's from the MS translation. In the other translations for 929, including the official one, it doesn't hint at anything at all.
