The Definitive Guide to Watching One Piece (According to the Manga using OnePace.net)
Hey! Some of you might remember me as one of the OG admins (for almost 10 years)– I was also a QC agent for Kaizoku-Fansubs back in the day. (2003-2006, Drum to Skypeia, K-F|Jango on IRC)
I meet people all the time that want to start the show (and see posts as well) but don't know where to begin, what sites to use, or are simply apprehensive about the now 900 episode hurdle. My girlfriend was one of these people-- I developed a filler-free guide for her (at her request) and she's now caught up and loves the series! After having my love for the series reinvigorated from our rewatch I felt the community needed to have a simple video to share with people they talk with on the go, or to send to potential friends / fans online who are starting their journey as well.
Visual Aid:
Many of us have been with this a very long time and for those of us in the United States who have struggled with oppression against One Piece thanks to 4Kids, etc. I'm sure we just want to be able to share the show and get people excited about Wano and future arcs as quickly as possible without missing proper content.
Yes. This guide involves www.OnePace.net – Yes, One Pace has it's own post, but this is directed towards getting new fans. No, One Pace has not finished every arc yet. But if you have not been keeping up-- since they began their mission almost a decade ago they've done enough to where you only have to go back and forth FOUR times now to other sources. (A big big shout out to the guys at OnePace.net).
Below is the guide written out. For purposes of the guide "Switch" refers to switching to other sources / devices such as hulu.com, crunchyroll.com, onepieceofficial.com, https://ww22.watchop.io, and kissanime (My video uses Hulu as the main switch.)
10 STEP GUIDE
- Go to www.OnePace.net to start the Romance Dawn arc – which aligns with Chapter 1 of the Manga (unlike Episode 1 of the actual series)
- One Pace: Romance Dawn, Orange Town, Syrup Village, Gaimon (18 episodes become 14)
- Switch: Episodes 20-44 (Baratie / Arlong Park - 24 episodes)
*Note: Episode of Nami is a viable option for 31-44 (IMO)
*Note: Episode of East Blue exists, yes, but I do NOT recommend if it is your first time watching - One Pace: (45) = Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak (22 episodes become 6)
- Switch: Episodes 68-69, 70-195 (Little Garden, Drum, Alabasta, Jaya, Skypeia)
(138 episodes to 110 when you skip the filler)
(SKIP: 98,99,102,130-143)
(Optional SKIP: 196-206) [Con D. Oriano]
*Note: One Pace has started Skypeia and will consolidate 43 episodes into 33
** One Pace can (optionally) be used for Episodes 153-160 under Skypeia - One Pace: (207) = Long Ring Long Land (22 episodes become 6)
- Switch: Episodes 229-312 (Water 7 / Enies Lobby - 84 episodes, 79 when you skip filler)
(SKIP 279-283, 291,292,303)
*Note: One Pace has started Enies Lobby and will consolidate 49 episodes into 26 **One Pace can be used for Episodes 263-285 under Enies Lobby (recommended) - One Pace: (313) = Post-Enies Lobby, Thriller Bark, Sabaody Archipelago, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford (152 episodes become 65)
- Switch: Episodes: 490-516 (Post War - 26 episodes)
*Note: One Pace has started Post War and will consolidate these 26 episodes into 8 over the next few months
**One Pace should be used for Episodes 490-495 under Post-War - One Pace: (517) = Return to Sabaody, Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou, Whole Cake, Reverie, Wano (373 Post-TS episodes become a miraculous 148)
*Note: Dressrosa is their crowning achievement – 118 episodes (122 with filler) cut to an UNREAL 48 episodes
Total: 900 episodes cut to roughly 450+!
