So like 99% sure Shutenmaru is Ashura Doji at this point. Oda really hyping this guy up, considering he can fight evenly with Jack, and even taunting Jack by calling him a small fry. He must have some balls to say something like that

I'm honestly kind of…disappointed by Kaido's arrival at the end? Like, it's drawn spectacularly. But at the same time, I feel like it happened a tad too fast. We just got acquainted with Shutenmaru and Jack came back and both those guys had pretty awesome entrances. I'd have been down for 922 being entirely devoted to their fight, so we could get to know them better. No idea what Oda has in mind though for Kaido's super early entrance, so I'm still interested to see what becomes of that.
But man, did that fight + entrance distract me from most of the chapter being humorous antics, and I gotta say, Luffy's statement about Zoro not doing well at his job was absolutely hilarious.
This'll be the first chapter of Volume 92, so what a way to kick it off. We're gonna be in for a ride here

Shutenmaru said he didnt die back then! So that means he relly is 99.9% Ashura Douji? Also the topknot matches
So the 9 samurais are: kinemon, kanjuro, raizo, kiku, ashura doji, kawamatsu(seems to be the missing guy from the past), denjiro, inuarashi and nekomamushi

Great moment at the end. It really creates momentum and Kaidou is a beautiful beast.
Other than that, the chapter was only good. Shutenmaru is intriguing especially because he is Ashura Douji, one the samurai that Kinnemon is looking for and the one guy mentioned last chapter in Oden's brief story… and I kinda like him right now. He is the type of guy that is not completely moral and humanitarian, but he is also someone who follows great men that inspire him into great causes, like Oden.
Why is Jack an "All-star" and not a "Calamity"? Maybe one is his status as a lord in Wano, and the other his status as a pirate in the rest of the world.

Love the color spread, I wish that Tokyo Girl Collection would be made into a real fashion show :wub:
I loved the antics in the first half of the chapter, classic One Piece. Everything revolving around Kinemon's pervyness is well executed, much more enjoyable than Sanji's attitude
As for Kaido entering the scene… Yeah, too little, too fast. Can I say on some aspects I am underwhelmed ? I wish the chapter had focused more on Jack and Shutenmaru, and then maybe their ruckus could have drawn Kaido next chapter. I don't get why he is suddenly barging in, and in dragon form too (well I do suspect a few reasons, but the story doesn't care to detail or hint at anything. It's just, "and now comes the big bad"). It makes little sense other than for shock value and he doesn't do much but loom and be his pissy self. Compare with the Musical chapter of Big Mom, now that was fantastic.

I'm not bother by Kaidou appearance since he does not plan to involve yet and let the job to his minions. However it questions the 2 weeks plan from Kinemon. We already it was going to be long for luffy to wait that much.
I'm surprised Kinemon is surprised with Tsuru. They make a nice couple but she should have recognized Kiku or does it mean she doesn't know they leaped time

This chapter was extremely good it gave me so many things I wanted to see!
a) Confirmation that Shutenmaru is obviously a man as his name implied the whole time.
b) gives us a nice preview of the strength of the samurai (hopefully less people will complain about "wano being full of disapointing weakling" now that we have seen some can fight on relatively even terms with Jack)
c) Exposition about Kin'emon giving the other half of the straw hats their roles and why Usopp is a salesman.
d) More Japanese costumes for the crew (I love how Brook's costume is just a Japanese ghost)
e) Shutenmaru's design being the flashback dude and in the process sinking all the insane fantasies about him being a sexy woman with huge breasts :getlost:Also this sums up my opinion perfectly:

Ok so Kaido is 100% based off Shenron with the mustache and everything.
Kaido will likely order Jack not to fight that Samurai and search for Luffy and Co. He will also give Shutenmaru time offer of joining or he will kill him. I think its likely.
We should get to see Luffy impressing Shutenmaru(with his spirit mostly) and joining alliance.
With so many strong people on Luffy side I wonder how strong top Samurais are - I think that Orochi might be real deal but he is likely to also have some very strong guards. Perhaps there is other samurai there on par with Calamity..
Beside that Kaidou is pissed, like really pissed. He went right into the place where Strawhats were last seen, he has great grudge against Luffy..

You can't really call it an inspiration if the original doesn't even have an original design. If a nine-tailed fox is referenced anywhere in this arc, are you going to say Oda was inspired by Naruto as well?

Its clear how kaido climb so high on cloud island alone…nice dragon design...so someone or something save jack at bottom of the sea...maybe his pet... Overall nice chapter and been so long for this good thrill...

Ever since the timeskip it's been way more than usual, but this chapter specifically it was over and over again. First Kiku (twice), then Robin, then Nami (twice), then for the kunoichi (before she arrived). I think its because it broke the rule of three. In comedy, you do something twice, and then subvert it the third time for the punchline. If you do it more than that it overstays its welcome. That gag waaaaaaaaay overstayed its welcome this chapter.

It's almost impossible to look at pages he's on without a cringe. Where's the old cool (as in composed) Sanji, ffs? Character growth? More like character stagnation at this point. Really starting to seriously think Oda has no idea what he wants to do with him.
So I guess Vegapunk really did create Momo's fruit by reverse engineering Kaido's. Probably took some samples when he was in captivity. Wonder how the fuck he was even captured to begin with.
Also, quite impressed with that Ashura geezer. But it's also true that Jack didn't use his hybrid form yet.
Not sure where things are supposed to go from here, really.

Except Asian dragons are absolutely nothing new and original. Countless of medias use Asian dragons as well. Just because there's one in DB doesn't automatically mean Oda got the same idea to use it as well, even if DB inspired him. Wano is a Japanese setting, so it makes sense to use the same kind of dragon. Is that so hard to get through your head? If aliens appear in the series, are you going to call it a DB reference as well?

There's just something about Tokyo girls that is irresistible. Everytime they come to Osaka they blow my mind. That's probably one of the only reasons I would go back to Tokyo. But any who, Oda knows whats up.
