was that really a lucky guess?? that guy has certain porcentages about stuff, so who knows
The thing is, he told Jack it was a lie. That he only said that to 1. kill the flame for the uprising per the rumors 2. to sober Kaido up. So based on that comment, I would say he didn't know and it was a guess.
-
@uniaka:
Anyway, this chapter confirms that kaidou has the dragon fruit, he is not actual dragon with other fruit because it was said ''he can transform into dragon''.
Or Kin'emon is just unaware of Kaido's true nature. Could be a stretch, but just saying it doesn't necessarily proves or disproves anything.
I am pretty sure the dugong in One Piece have shells like turtles.
Dugongs are real animals. Kung-Fu Dugongs are One Piece fictitious counterparts.
-
My prediction for where this next volume will go. The volume will end around 930
- Okobore town will be destroyed one way or another.
- Luffy’s going to lose obviously.
- Shutenmaru will meet Kin’emon who will meet Tsuru in one way or another.
- The Strawhats survived obviously.
- Either Law or Luffy will get captured.
- Either Shutenmaru or Tsuru will get a flashback.
- The Plan will start and all the Strawhats will manage to escape and disperse to do their jobs.
- We’ll see what Franky, Robin, Ussop and Zoro are doing
- Some foreshadowing about Kaidou(or his drunkenness) or the Beast pirates’ formation
- The next volume will be about events connected to the other Strawhats and Orochi

So I was right?? It doesn't exist… Kung fu dugongs I mean...
-
It doesn't it, but their real-life counterparts do.

And Im pretty sure those shells are just a piece of armor.

The Elephant gun is probably gonna sober Kaido up and nothing else.
-
Of coooourse Luffy punched him! Exactly what I expected but still surprised me to see it actually being done.
You can also tell that Oda was having a lot of fun drawing this twisting huge dragon swirl around Kuri.
Looking forward for a touching Kinemon-Tsuru reunioun C:
-
I think it was omitted just to keep the readers in the dark
Yes, that could be the case, but he could've just said he was very strong or nothing at all about him. Oda didn't say anything about Big Mom's powers and we still don't know exactly how they work.
I'm just trying to put together what we know about him. Oda would'nt have said that he was defeated 16 times and escaped every death sentence and all of them if there isn't more than meets the eye. It's just how i see things. -
I can really see WB, Shanks, BM, Kaidou party together. I think that is the reason why they are balanced, not because they are perefect equals, but because they are old friends that just have fun.
-
So Kaidou transforms into a dragon and not the other way around… just so happen that he gets called or classified now as something as outrageos as a dragon, hence, the strongest creature exisitng.. Or we'll see as the story progress.

Wild theory: before going to Marineford, Newgate went to Linlin and asked her to remove the remaining years of his life. That's why he was almost dead by the time he went there and now his horcrux-homie is plotting his revenge against Akainu.
-
Luffy is useless against Kaido.
Kaido will only be defeated when facing Zoro in a drinking challenge! -
was that really a lucky guess?? that guy has certain porcentages about stuff, so who knows
He said it was a lie designed to take Kaido's focus away from okobore and to get rid of the superstition surrounding the castle ruins
So yeah, not even a lucky guess, it was a total coincidence
-
Oh yeah, if drunk Kaido doesn't pass out right when Luffy's attack hits, then he's just gonna tank it.
I'm wondering how the others got away from the heat blast, I'm thinking got on Komachiyo's back to escape.
-
I hope Kaido will pass out and piss himself (and the entire city).

Since he's a chinese dragon…then all that more yellow pee should be called "The Yellow River".
-
I bet someone else has suggested it before, but I think it'd be cool if both Luffy and Law get knocked down and imprisoned with Kidd, and then all three are freed on the night of the plan.

If this comes true i bet they will be saved by the third samurai the Kinemon seeks and they go together with him to complete de team.
-
This was a very nice chapter but Im kinda shocked there's a bit of mixed feelings on the end. It definitely opens up a lot of questions for what happnes next and it wasnt as guttural as luffy vs bellamy or any other focused on hits but I dont think that would have fit with kaido. The long term plan is still in motion minus Law, Luffy and Zoro though. Which is good because otherwise oda completely wasted half a chapter if they ended up doing nothing he talked about.
I was betting on kinemon cutting the flames but we saw him running to the town. However oda had Wadatsumi swim away beofre using him anyway so it could be that kind of trick.
-
Very nice chapter, much better than last week's. I love how huge Kaidou is compared to everything else. I also like how normal Jack is compared to his boss, it's a nice touch.
Last page was nicely drawn. The impact feels very flat and limp, like Kaidou was only nudged, which is good!
Last week I was only about 70% convinced that Shutenmaru was Asura-Douji (For some reason I thought it was a little weird that none of the villagers commented on that), but now I'm starting to agree with that theory. No other reason he would react to Oden castle like that.
-
Luffy is useless against Kaido.
Kaido will only be defeated when facing Zoro in a drinking challenge!Nami is tougher when it comes to drinking.
-
It might be a mistranslation. It might be just the rank after "allstar" rank that the Calamities have.
I think it's the "Governor" bit that's a bit weird. I could see Kaido just straight-up being called a General like how Blackbeard calls himself an Admiral, but the Governor addition….it kinda sounds like a title Orochi gave him or something.
-
The chapter was perfect.
I only wish Luffy had gone King Kong Gun from the get-go.
Yeah, I´m serious.
This is a freaking 300 meter Yonkou dragon monster. He´s had Kong Gun blocked by BM recently like it was nothing and her underling Katakuri out-Elephanted him.
This punch clobbered Kaidou nicely because he´s drunk, it was unexpected and honestly, the target is hard to miss, but this was a big mistake by Luffy.
Kaidou will eat him next chapter unless Law applies some stealthy escape tactics or something.Regarding the castle-destroying blast, I think it got the building itself, but the group was standing outside, on that hill-platform. I believe they´re fine. But that was really scary.

I made this on the fly after the recent chapter came out. Now I wanna know the real truth.
HOW DID SHANKS MANAGE TO BEAT KAIDO IN HIS DRAGON FORM!?!?!?
Also, this chapter is amazing with how things are going in the hands of faith.
-
HOW DID SHANKS MANAGE TO BEAT KAIDO IN HIS DRAGON FORM!?!?!?
Easy, he didn't!
Kaido's motivation to brawl with Whitebeard was probably related to his own wish to die, since WB was the strongest man in the world (and thus his only real threat).
All Shanks had to do was to intercept Kaido, start a talk, share a lot of drinks and convince him that he should selflessly grant Whitebeard the final battle he also desires so much.
Kaido retreats after a drunk melancholic breakdown, end of ths story! -
-
Which only begs the question: if Kaido wanted to fight Whitebeard so badly, why didn't he confront him sooner? Why wait until he was going off to face the Marines? Did they all know WB was most likely doomed?
It's interesting that all the Yonko have/had some form of heavy handicap. Old age and illness, blind hunger pang rampages, alcoholism/mood swings, and Blackbeard is overly cocky to the point it's backfired on him a few times and gotten him almost killed. So what's Shanks' handicap? . .
-
Kaido should name ringleader or wathever the owner of the circus is called.@Miss:

Shitty balance due to missing arm.
-
Somebody share this old colorspread on reddits.
very nice to see the Kozuki clan symbol on Luffy

He's a one-armed manlet.

His life plan was probably something like this:
1. Become a Yonkou
2. Boil Oden
3. Gaze upon an army of artificial Zoan users (super specific goal/hobby)
4. Die, most likely against the only being who can pull it off - WhitebeardI mean it's not like Kaido showed no ambition elsewhere. Maybe he did those things to kill time or whatever, but he had some goals apart from dying. Maybe these death wishes only flare up whenever he is super mega drunk and melancholic, triggered by certain events. Like realizing that another old-timer (maybe even a possible old rival/friend) is going to die before him.
I believe Oda has some tragic shit in store for Kaido, similiar to Big Mom. At least I felt bad for her several times during Whole Cake, not just during her flashback. I don't think the readers are supposed to like him at the end of the arc, but at least feel some sympathy.
-
From what I gathered from the first few pages of this thread, Kaidou is a stupidly boring character without personality that also drin…...OMG WE LOVE HIM HE'S SO COOL!
Nah Oda, you have to work harder for it. The real shame? The whole of the world we know and we've come to love since 1999 ( at least in my country ), all of it - the strongest guys on earth, ruling half of the earth alone and some other stuff by proxy, feel flat as fck pappmachéé cardboard pinups with one predominat trait that is played ad nauseam within a few chapters. And seeing as we got Kaidou now, this will essentially be the last big bad EVER to be introduced, depending on what IM does. Of course we will get more backstory which will make him interesting somehow, but am I the only one who feels the 'power of plot' and a hint of 'rushing through things' here? Wano, hungry damsel in distress, damsel that acts tough but will get the damsel treatment, because woman, Fodder 1, village food, castle, time travel, plan, Hawkins, Jack, Kaidou, and he has to be a dragon, ofc...
How many chapters in are we? Has Robin even been taken after the same amount of chapters in W7? In Skypea, was Eneru already shown after the same amount of chapters?I'm not asking rhetorical to make a point, I genuinely like to know - would help me answer why I feel this is all so forced.
Yonkou 1: NAKAAAAMA!
Yonkou 2: FOOOOOOD!
Yonkou 3: FAMILYYYYY!
Yonkou 4: HONOOOOR!
Yonkou 5: BOOOOOZE!
And that's basically the end gauntlet of the series, with Blackbeard and Akainu thrown in there for good measure? That means we will get like 6 more years of Hic!, Cake!, Die!, Ultimate Justice!...oh my, I should somewhat enjoy this, but all I can think about is the idea of 'Let Simpsons Die' - well deserved rest for popcultural icons. I'm going to say that I wouldn't have been sad if he had finished it in 20 years - it hurts to watch one of your favorite media things slowly drift away from you because its target audience is and always will be 14 years old.
Nothing should ever take 25 years in succession to complete, except maybe prison sentences. Or building pyramids.
-
is also seemengly strange that Kin and Law, the most obvious guys capable of doing something to save the rest were inmediately taken out of picture, and from the ones staying behind is hard to tell who saved them all.
so, I don't know about Japanese Dragons but that was the first time I believe that Kaido was in front of another Dragon(Momo), so if Momo on his Dragon form could use, awaken or whatever an ability due to the presence of Dragon Kaido around that could have saved everyone, that'd be much cool. -
I hope Kaido will pass out and piss himself (and the entire city).

I…. I don't know what to say, really.
I'm used to the Internet providing everyone with everything but... come on lol.
-
I like that the Strawhats potentially being killed is no longer even worth being the cliffhanger the chapter ends on. It’s just whatever at this point. Anyway that Shinobu chick will most likely have some secret exit path way to get everyone clear… The hill most likely has secret tunnels seeing as there’s a huge Gate built right into the Cliff base

Congo Jack, as your surprise quack doctor, I am prescribing you chill pills. It's one thing to not like characters that express a character trait too much, (Shut up, Sanji!) but this is way too much.
Whitebeard was the All-Might of One Piece, a shining beacon of righteous power and noble inspiration to every physically active go-getter with the same way of life. That a planet-cracker would respond to attempts on his own life with a warm hug and fatherly wisdom melted the hearts of all but his most evil enemies and gave the feeling that your want for the top-spot no longer matters: this man DESERVES it. He also deserved the death that he got: enduring multiple explosives to the chest in a world-challenging gambit to save one of his own (complete with a proper-epic entrance) only to be felled by no less than the most deadly traitor around and even then refusing to falter his posture, having never once allowed himself wounds of cowardice upon his back.
Kaido's further characterization is within the next two of our years and that he's a pathetic drunk is clearly going to be a vital component to his defeat. A sober Kaido would meet every further undoing of his underlings and operations with countless innocents meeting the same fate as Oden Castle. Alcoholic Kaido is already being manipulated into non-genocide by the same underlings that he threatens with death in the hypothetical of their disobedience.
As for Shanks, Akainu, Blackbeard, and Lord Im, we've barely gotten to know them and the latter or all of them will obviously wait their turns for defeat. That is to say, hold your horses.
To keep patience in mind also applies to Big Mom, even though we know quite a lot more about her than her eating disorder already. She has an autistic devotion to a noble cause but lacks the nuance to achieve it in a sane or civilized way. She has cultivated this theoretically impressive culture of diversity but being apart of it is terrifyingly expensive and leaving literally costs the extremely lucky ones at least an arm or leg; all because she can't wrap her head around the virtue of respecting free will. But having only been made angry, her involvement in this grand story is far from over and will likely conclude on Elbaf where it started.

So which One Piece villain do you consider to be well rounded and have a dynamic personality which shows more than one or two traits?

stuff.
On another hand we could have all four of them acting the same way as a power-hungry conqueror without any particular trait in their personalities.

As of now, Luffy has touched all 5 Yonkous.

Do they need an adult?

He did? BM and Whitebeard?
-
He did? BM and Whitebeard?
Big Mom tanked a G4 attack with her elbow during the Wedding fiasco, and, if I recall, Whitebeard caught/picked up Luffy at one point during the war when someone had sent him flying back (have to look up exactly when, but I want to say it was shortly before he had Ivankov dose him with another round of stimulants).
