The design is practically 1:1 what he looks like in the manga. Scales, hair, horns and all.

Sorry to be a downer, but yeah, the face is pretty off/simplified. That said, we’re staring at a still for a prolonged period of time. And that still is probably in motion. So I’m sure it’ll be 100% fine so long as they don’t sit on this as a still and maybe give more detail to the final reveal shot in the episode.

I happy all these changes are made for wano but blugh I do not care about this arc in the manga so far.
Massive fan of Dressrose felt like whole cake was a step down but still good but wano arc has been boring so far, hopefully the anime filler can make it more interesting.

There is nothing off except that the screenshot is most likely a frame from an animated segment like what others have said.
There's a difference between a fan coloring of a manga panel and a frame shot that is supposed to be experienced animated. -

Lol, ppl here need to chill a bit. For these episodes the anime's gonna succeed.
If people expect the anime to be 1:1 with the manga, they're setting themselves to disappointement. They're very likely gonna take their liberties and tbh I'd like them to take their liberties. I don't want a bland carbon copy of the manga without any added creative input.
Even Oda himself sees the manga and the anime as 2 quite separate things, therefore people here need to let go of the idea that the anime's gonna follow the manga to the letter.
