One Piece Episode 867 Preview
Wow… two stars each...I got a feelin' this will be a stinker. Jus' sayin'.
Ueda and Deguchi dream team.
It was a decent episode. Im glad they linked up the two of the lower quality producers on the show. Offmodel shots everywhere, and that Nightmare fuel face BM makes before hitting chopper.
This feels like one of those episodes that could have (and should have) been 10 minutes.
While this episode was by Ueda and Deguchi, it was pretty decent. Directing wise it was well directed and paced, and Ichikawa corrected more than 50 cuts that made the episode had a good looking as a whole. I wish it had some better animation tho.
In additon, I thought that this episode showed it more clearly that Sunny was saved by the cake and Sanji. While the manga had the same plot, I thought the anime had a better atmosphere building. This episode also added the farewell scenes between Pudding and Chiffon, and this was another part that I loved very much in this episode.
Next episode will have some great animation.

! the last time we see Pudding she's by herself crying in an alley right next to a panel of Sanji hugging another girl and he's made zero mention or thought of her since/
Another cooldown episode that just kind of existed to fill space, though I do agree that Sanji's arrival had a little more punch here compared to the manga, especially with that Evangelion-ass music playing. Things should definitely start picking up next episode (you can see a little bit of Inoue for a split-second in the preview) with the double-episode special coming up. Oh yeah, and isn't the finale of the Katakuri fight going to be previewed at JUMP Festa? I wonder how that will go.

Is it me…or this episode was JUST AWESOME! I know there werent any Sakuga moments but all the attacks looked cool and not lame. And that's all that I require. I dont even care that some of the feats in this episode are non canon. Sure its no Aya Komaki,who can make One Piece fights look not just cool but AWESOME, but I throughy enjoyed myself while watching this episode. If the shittiest directors the anime has made an episode this good I can certainly hope the A++ Team will handle the finale of the Katakuri fight well.

This exactly there are some really well-directed moments this episode, that simply aren't fully realized, but you can tell the board wasnt just some lazy cash-grab.

Nothing official has been announced yet, but every Friday before the episode airs the One Piece twitter accounts posts a whiteboard illustration drawn by Usopp's voice actor that has commentary from the voice actors who worked on each episode written on it. A few weeks ago Jimbei's voice actor tweeted out a photo of the one that Kappei Yamaguchi had been working on at the time, and despite the fact that he's trying to cover it up with his hands you can see it has two episode numbers on it (868-869) instead of just one as normal. Given the lack of promotion so far it could mean that they're just airing two normal episodes back-to-back instead of the Luffy vs. Sanji treatment. Or we could just be reading too much into it, we'll see.

Say what you want to about WCI. Say what you want to about the Toei adaptation. I think this arc is the first time they've really hit this TV show out of the Park since Sabaody, and before that Water 7. Even the really badly paced episodes of this arc far surpass a solid 80% of Dressrosa. So Mad props to the Crew behind this show.
Despite all of my cynicism and complaining I really ought to agree! The handling of Whole Cake Island has been epic.

! that's the only big regret of this great arc. All the hints were pointing to those two getting together, even if apart.
Not only ain't happened, but the whole plot was just erased as some teen's browser chronology. I can not think of it as Oda being not sure on how to deal Sanji missing Purin or even being afraid of some fan reactions

I remember before the fght started and everybody was demanding Luffy v Katakuri, and I was just sitting there smirking like "You fools have no idea how long this fight is, do you?"
