Ahaha me too! Discovered it same year because it started airing in Italy, i remember i disliked it at first because on that channel one piece took the place of the detective conan anime ( case closed ), little did i know..

The first time I ever seen One Piece was due to waiting for the Season 3 preimere of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 (One Piece was the show before TMNT 2003 on the Fox Box/4Kids tv.) in the fall of 2004. Yeah, I know the 4kids dub was infamous for some of the things that happend to the series until Funimation took over the series. At first I didn't really care much for the series, but it was the Kuro arc episodes that got me hook on the series. And I pretty much been a fan of the series ever since.
