Chapter 926: The Prisoner Mine

It seems like the WG is really moving on something big, as the officials made the comment that “are they going to start a war” based on the size of the sea stone weapon shipment. Maybe more credence to the thoughts of the WG going against the Shichi.

I really liked this chapter. Good to see Kidd and Liffy getting prison buff, even with seastone shackles on. Kidd was at a higher bounty than luffy, yes he would’ve been more ruthless but still, he’s up there with him in terms of resolve strength and will! They both have different styles (luffy paying close attention to the half dead old man in each panel whereas kidd really didn’t give a f) but they are on the same level. Going forward they can’t be too weak when faced against such seastone weapons. It’s the new world and if they are at the level they are they can’t afford to be bested by a mere seastone weapon or shackle alone. So a show of seastone tolerance is a level up for them that Oda wants to show for sure.

PS chances are the mysterious fishbone prisoner doesn’t have… hands?

Quite fun chapter i laughed quite bit, Oda is having fun with Smile users.
Hmm Nami is receiving Kunoichi training don't know why i find quite appropriate, more dodge skills are welcomed for her since she is glass cannon .
Usopp is doing job quite well on is own which is always nice to see.
Things are being setup quite nicely.

Since he calls Sanji a boy, I doubt it's a biggest ladies man on the island or something like that.

Killer better be part of that cooking contest. SBS did confirm he is the cook of the kid pirates, about time he shows up again after kaidou attacked KHA alliance.

Btw kid's cook is part of the supernovas of worst generation, unlike sanji.

6.5 or a 7 for me on this chapter. Pretty solid transition and set up chapter. Liked Luffy and Kid's interaction the most.

I didn't even remember Kira used scythes. That would be interesting, good way to use a rather ignored supernova. But I don't think so.

Had Oda given Kamazou a generic silhouette, I would take it as a placeholder design used just not to give any hints on Kamazou actual look. But the one he used seems distinct enough to believe it actually is the guy's actual appearance - and it actually seems to fit the sillhouette of Kawamatsu/Denjirou, so I think this one is a given.

If ive got to say anything about this chapter, its that its really awesome and hilarious to see Captain Kidd in action again. As little as he's been shown, almost every appearance has been epic to see and I feel like he's definitely gonna be one of the best parts of this Wano arc. Really hope/wish we still get to see the Kaido VS Kidd fight flashback.

He may still have a sword too. Or he wasn't that attached to his to begin with.

I think that guy in prison has to be 3rd shadow on the right on panel mentioned in earlier post.

This guy is likely someone else that will also join fight. Maybe son of said character- good reason for him to have a similar ponytail. Or he is Ryuma descendant.. or something

Blackbeard wilp kill Kaidou and take his fruit then he will have the strongest Logia,Paramecia and Zoan fruits setting himself up to be the preultimate boss.

Despite their popular depiction, samurai were expected to use many weapons, not just katana/swords. Although I agree Kamazou most likely uses only a scythe, based on the name he goes by.

Still, even if he is not one of the three, I am still sure the look on the portrait is accurate to how he looks, so Killer or any known character would be ruled out.

For now I am more curious about the "witching hour boy", though. The "boy" part would instantly rule out this one being any of the retainers, so I am curious about this one (I saw someone suggesting it could be Hiyori. A woman being taken for a boy could work, I guess, due to their small frame).

I really like that their relationship is more of a rivalry and not respectful and stifled like with Law's.

What if Hiyori is pulling an Arya from GoT and is passing along as a boy to hide her true identity. And its just a play off on The Faceless. I don't know but it's the first thing that came to mind.

I wouldnt be surprised if all of that heavy work while wearing seastone cuffs will grant luffy a much needed powerup before fighting kaido. Makes me think of those time-chambers in DBZ

While that's definitely a possibility, since this is a cartoony shonen manga, I REALLY hope that isn't how things turn out. If two years of training with Rayleigh wasn't enough to damage Kaidou, two weeks of lifting rocks shouldn't make any difference, especially since they haven't been tired out by it.

I hope for rather dramatic fight at the end of arc. No sloppy jokes when fighting Kaido, still its clever way for Oda to do some small training for both of them.

There's like a 60% chance Orochi ends up being a Spandam tyoe of chump. I don't know how someone who is supposed to be a top tier would act so scared unless it was all an act and a lie. It's probably why he had to bring Kaido into the picture to take over.

But you can also say that, while Kaido is probably capable of taking over Wano all by himself, he chose to ally himself with Orochi and let the guy rule the country as he likes. I still hope Orochi turns out to be really strong and Kaido may even respect him to a certain degree.

Wano is still known for having "strong samurai" even after Kaido took over, so we can assume that at least there are some strong samurai serving Orochi.

It was an okay chapter, but the SMILE users are pretty dumb and weak so far.
Kid and Luffy is a nice team, their rivary is enjoyable.

I just realized Oda apparently changed how SMILE fruits work. Back in Zou and Sheepshead group, they gave their users weird versions of Zoan transformations (with a head appearing where your hand should be when you activated it, for example), but now it seems they give the user a permanent "animal deformation".

Based on how luffy and kid are able to workout just fine with seastone cuffs, this makes it even more likely that kaidou's club is fully seastone, it doesn't affect him at all because he got trained with it like luffy and kiddo.

Not that I like it, seastone was the only real counter for the fruit users yet now you can train to be less weak against it.

It won't be a joke, Kid hates the way Luffy's name is always in front pages. It will be a race to KO kaidou. It will be a lot of fun.

And that Kidd seems to be a buddy now. Kidd was introduced as exaggerating violent and brutal. That's definitely not Luffys friend type.

So this chapter basically changed the canon.

A guard in this very chapter said that the seastone was weakening them, and that they would be stronger without them. The two of them are just super strong to begin with. And even way back during Enies Lobby and Marineford, a handcuffed Robin and Ace weren't so weakened that it had any visible effect.

Doesn't need to be actual rank, but sure is time for kaidou to show his perospero, snack, daifuku, tamago, oven, and who else was there. The supernovas don't count since they are bound to betray and they just got here like 1 month ago(except drake).

I'm satisfied with how the minor headliners have been handled so far. Between King, Queen, Jack, Hawkins, Apoo, and Drake we've got plenty of serious minibosses to keep us busy, and that's not even counting Orochi and any of his potential minions. Anyone else would just bloat an already huge arc. Having them just be wacky diversions is exactly what I want.

It's possible, but it seems more likely that it'll just be parallel to the 3 Sweet Commanders. When a Headliner can be as strong as a Supernova, there isn't really any reason to have more than 3 All-Stars. It just needlessly lessens the role somewhat IMO when you already have a position that has characters with wildly varying amounts of strength.
