I mean, we all already know it's gonna end with Mickey Mouse joining the Avenges and stabbing Thanos with a Keyblade, but it's the OTHER stuff we gotta be worried about.

One of the latest reactions to the Venom trailer? People are getting some serious crushes on it.
I think Venom is fucking cool looking, but I have to say I'm not running to read any fanfic about it:

I need to see how the film handles putting that Venom CGI into action before calling it good. As well as the chest logo. I have a feeling they're going to not have it just because it might look too "silly", which is a shame because it's the one thing preventing him from looking like a generic movie monster. And even if they have it, it can still look underwhelmingly ugly like in Spider-Man 3. I also wish the eyes were bigger since I like Spider-Man and Venom's eyes best when they're drawn fat and round like actual bug eyes (that's the one thing I can confidently say The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has above every other Spider-Man live-action appearance), but that is only a small nitpick.
I still don't expect this movie to be good from how bland that teaser trailer was though.
-
@Count:

They should have gotten the suicide quad trailer guy. I bet that same footage would be awesome to a song from Wayne's World.
-
You would think every movie would be trying to get the suicide squad trailer guy.
-
Well, looks (and sounds) a hell of a lot better than Spiderman 3 Venom at least.
As someone who absolutely hates the Venom character from the comics, making him a mirror opposite "skeevy stalker" version of Peter's awkward dorky persona was the closest thing to getting me interested in a version of Venom.
Anyway, as for the Venom trailer, well, it looks garbage.
The CGI especially looks incredibly dodgy, like it came out of a 2005 SyFy original movie.
Also, did they really just fuck up the pronunciation of "symbiote"?
God damn it, Sony…
-
Do wonder what a suicide quad movie would be like :ninja:
-
I'm glad I'm so busy with my semester that I spend 12+ hours in school working on my collection, that leaves little breathing room in which I can potentially spoil myself. But still, the wait till sunday is agony.
-
Also, did they really just fuck up the pronunciation of "symbiote"?

It's not technically incorrect. They're using the base of the pronunciation "symbiotic" (sym-BYE-ot-ic) pronunciation rather than base "symbiosis". (sym-BEE-os-is)
Sym-BYE-ote, or sym-BEE-ote they're both correct…. just its traditionally been BEE in most animation and adaptations up till now so its what we're all used to, and it kind of sounds better.... but the other version isn't incorrect.
You want some real fun with pronunciation, just look at Mr myxlplyx.

I had a really great time with Infinity War! I'm curious how people who aren't super into the MCU feel about the film.

! 9.0 dissapointed at the children of thanos but great movie also HAWKEYE WHERE ARE YOU!!!

! @badwolf1234:
! > 9.0 dissapointed at the children of thanos but great movie also HAWKEYE WHERE ARE YOU!!!
! I'd count this as a spoiler…?
! Because up until now I had high hopes he'd still be in the movie somehow -
…... Damnit..... Now I have to avoid this thread.
I figured you guys were cool enough not to spoil....
-
Added spoiler tags; not gonna infract badwolf over this right now but consider this a general warning. Come on, people.

So, I accidentally read something that might be a real spoiler, or might be a fake spoiler. I can't tell. Can someone tell me whether or not it's true?
! Thanos in the movie isn't love with Death like he is in the comics (or so I've heard). His motivation in the movie is to cut down on the population of the universe in order to prevent more tragedies from happening.
! If that is true, does it work better in context? Because on it's own it sounds pretty dumb. -

! If that is true, does it work better in context? Because on it's own it sounds pretty dumb.! It's true. His own civilization was driven to extinction due to overpopulation and he feels his killing of people is justified in that the people who are left now don't have to fight over scarce resources anymore. I mean, I thought it worked just fine in context, and actually made Thanos into one of those villains who actually kinda has a point, even if his methods are of course beyond extreme.

! Okay, that part about his civilization dying out makes it work better for me.
! I just think being in love with Death is a more unique motivation. Kind of disappointed, but hey, maybe I'll come around to it. -
! 9.0 dissapointed at the children of thanos but great movie also HAWKEYE WHERE ARE YOU!!!
! He's becoming Ronin for Avengers 4; Ronin being the other identity Hawkeye took on, a Samurai/Ninja-type identity. Feige, the guy behind the entire MCU, basically said as much in interviews.

! "Thanos's selection" was 100% random. As he said himself, his plan was an indescriminate genocide that doesn't take anything into account; It was literally a coin flip for every living being in the universe whether they would live or die.

Maybe next time don't call me out for something I didn't even do, lol. Trust me, I'm crushed by that, too and isn't something I wanted to read here.

Ok sorry, when did I say you were included in that?….

I thought that the comment was clearly aimed at the open spoiler, and the person before that one that said an even broader comment.

well, it was one guy. the use of an s implies you mean more than one person…

I think Rin was just saying "guys" in a general sense, and not any one or small group in particular.

@Mr.:

Bingo .

I have a thought I just wanted to get off my chest after reading spoilers:
! I read spoilers even though I'm seeing the movie Friday morning. I'm liking where Hulk and Banner's story seems to be going. I bet in the next movie Banner will begin a real partnership with Hulk after helping him overcome his trauma.
-
! I saw infinity war yesterday and I loved it. Thanos is an awesome villian and the stakes are real.
I've got a theory about the end I like to share, don't look at the spoilers below if you want to be spoiled.! So after the snap I noticed that all the characters that disappear are character we know to get another film, like:
Black panther, spiderman, dr strange, all of the guardians.
I found this very convenient, so my theory is that all of them are send to a new universe, and we continue the new movies in that universe.
The universe with the others, captain america, iron man, thor etc. is done.
Avengers 4 will be called The Ultimate Avengers, as in the ultimate universe, a new resetted universe. -
So, I just heard on the radio that there is just one post-credit scene. Can anyone here confirm this? Because the cinema Im going sells beer and this movie lasts more than 2 hours so my bladder's gonna be a ticking time bomb by that time.
-

yes only one and its at the end of the credits
-
End of the beginning credits or the entire thing?
-

Yup, that seems to be the case.
Spoilering the next bit. I have not seen the movie but I'm making an educated guess about what the post credits scene is going to be, and some might consider that a spoiler:
! Captain Marvel! It's going to be Captain Marvel! SO Hoping it's going to be Captain Marvel.
! The next 2 movies happening before Avengers 4 are Ant Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel. Ant Man and the Wasp is being played up as a fun Heist movie, so a tease for that might be out of place considering this is probably going to be a very dark movie with a bleak end.
! Captain Marvel makes a lot more sense.
! Either A: She shows up to Earth in the aftermath and is like "What the hell happened here?"
or B: Someone like Nick Fury (He's in her Solo Movie right) goes looking for her. -
Saw the movie yesterday, it was so awesome! They managed to make everything flows so well despite the presence of so many characters. I'm stunned! All the people I know loved it and the audience score in my country is the highest ouf of any MCU movie!
-
-
Just left the theater and all i want to say at this point is … hype justified. What an awesome experience.
-
I always figured it'd be a hilarious practical joke to not have a post-post-credit sequence for a Marvel film, since it's already ingrained in everyone's mind that there'll always be one.
But Spider-man: Homecoming got as close to that joke as possible, so let's say that'll be it.
-
This movie was everything I wanted it to be. I'll say no more. Go see it. Now.
-
(not accusing anyone before now, just a reminder)
-
Well just got spoiled in twitch chat. Should have seen this coming, considering it happened with Han Solos death too, but didn‘t learn my lesson.

-
! That ending was some bullshiitttt, can't wait for the next one!
-
People, stay of the internet. Really, its INSANE how much can be spoiled in this movie. There is just so much going on.
Outstanding movie, the last ten minutes felt like half an hour with how intense they are.
Bravo Marvel -
Oh my god…. it was perfect.... it was everything I wanted it to be and more.....
I just bought tickets to see it again Saturday... It.... just..... wow...... Oh my god....
! It Happened…. he snapped his fingers and it happened.... Half of all life in the universe is gone... I knew it was going to happen... I've read Infinity Gauntlet.... I... wasn't prepared.... Spider-Man....
How can you know the ending of a movie and still be this gutpunched by it....
! Also: RED SKULL WAS IN THE MOVIE!! OH MY GOD!! Also, I was dressed as Ms. Marvel so you can bet I flipped my shit when that post credits scene happened and CAROL FREAKING DANVERS IS COMING!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS -
! Mother Freak, that ending was amazing! I'm going to have to catch a matinee next week so I don't have to deal with people laughing and clapping throughout, but this easily enters my Marvel Mount Rushmore of films after this first viewing.
-
Watched it last night. First I'd like to say I had 0 expectations of the movie, just assumed it was going to deliver, since the people in charge know very well what they are doing by now. And I'm not much of a Marvel fan or anything. But daaaaaaaaamn.
! There's literally not a single wasted moment here. The plot flows easily and I wasn't bored for a second. Without analyzing anything too deep, the strong points for me was the action, the humor and the villain. Those action scenes, damn. They had to have been using some good stuff. Thanos wasn't just a shallow, generic, bad dude. Sometimes it's easy to forget what a good villain can do to the movie and Thanos reminds me of that fact. The movie just wouldn't be the same without him as he was. And it was great that he wasn't untouchable, hanging by the ropes a couple of times. Speaking of which, wasn't a fan of Star Lord snapping at such a crucial moment. They really cut a corner there.
! Everyone got a little piece of the action, and even though some of the characters and character interactions were missing, you know they will be covered in the second part.Friendly warning. I only managed to watch Guardians 2 a couple of days ago, and IW has massive spoilers. Watch it first if you haven't.
I didn't have time watch Black Panther and was glad to see there weren't any major spoilers, as far as I could tell.
Oh yeah, might watch it again. Was really amazed.
-
Ended up seeing it sooner than I planned, I don't trust my friends and the internet to keep a secret. I'm tired and going to bed for now, but want to say that I'm super happy they did the villain good. They made the movie as much about him as they did the Avengers, and it pays off well. Brolin was amazing throughout the whole thing.
-
! I really liked the movie, but the cliffhanger was kinda weak. I get they're setting up the next movie to have the original Avengers and few others, so they had to get rid of these characters, but the choices in characters dying made it obvious they'd be brought back.
! I went from seeing Bucky dying and thinking "No way!" to seeing Black Panther dying and thinking "Oh, I see…". -
! The Red Skull cameo was the most surprising moment for me. I noticed that Hugo Weaving did not reprise his role but … eh. Did not bother me much.
Thanos was great and i'm so glad they gave him so much screentime and clear motivations.
Now the question is ... is all this according to Dr Strange's plan? His last line "it had to be this way" (or something like that) makes me wonder if he foresaw this outcome in the future in which they ultimately beat Thanos.
! The crowd in the cinema was probably the best i ever experienced. Cheers and clapping whenever something cool happened and in the last 5 minutes total freakin silence with some people sobbing here and there.
Now this surely isn't the best Marvel film from a critical standpoint. There are some issues regarding tone, not everyone get's a lot to do or meaningful dialogue and everything else that was in the past has to be pushed aside because the galaxy is at stake (which makes sense, of course). The battle at the end was also against another big mindless army that only exists for a battle sequence so that everyone get's his moments.
But ... these nitpicks did not bother me while watching the film and it one of the best movie experiences i ever had. I can't wait to watch it again.
