@Blissed:
1. While he was alerted, Kaido was only literally here to begin with because he was drunk. The only thing Holdem's defeat was supposed to do was bring Jack over here, but Kaido completely overshadowed him.
Kaido going there was unexpected, but so was coincidentally meeting Otama and Speed on his way there and attacking them. If Luffy blames himself for not staying with Otama to protect her, even if he didn't know she would get attacked, then he should blame himself for bringing that enemy in the first place, even if he didn't know that would happen because of him.
2. Luffy's identity had been exposed by Hawkins since Ch. 912. Even without defeating Holdem, Hawkins had once again been made aware of his presence in Ch. 916 and surely would've reported it to Jack/Kaido regardless.
Hawkins explicitly told everybody to not report anything to Kaido.
3. The crew was only attacked due to Hawkins accidentally guessing where they were.
Doesn't matter, same result. What if he had someone secretly following them? In the end, it was because Luffy was reckless despite the repeated warnings.
4. In each instance of Luffy's recklessness in Wano, it's either been for the sake of Tama, his crew, or the villagers.
Luffy could've rescued Otama and be done with it, he didn't have to send Holdem flying because he used pincers on Otama's cheek since it goes against the plans.

@YoungWhite:
You can't be seriously comparing Katakuri's attack power to that of a Yonko…
Of course he looked more beat up. Kaido only hit him in the head while Katakuri attacked him all over.
Katakuri didn't just land one hit tho, he kept squishing Luffy for several hours.
If Yonko commanders entire arsenal of attacks coming together doesn't compare to a single strike from a Yonko then the gap is completely absurd.
Knowing what will happen doesn't mean you can stop it. It was very evident he got blitzed.
Yes, because Katakuri's CoO didn't allow him to completely dodge/block Luffy's clearly fast gear second attacks.
Luffy was visibly angry so his coO couldn't have been working.
This kinda makes sense, but it needs to get mentioned soon. Otherwise, it's just unproven headcanon.
Luffy by the end of this arc will obviously not be the same level he is now.
Yes, after two weeks Luffy will be so strong he's able to one shot his older self, and one shot every yonko commander and supernova as well.
