Damn, so some real interesting developments not mentioned in the spoilers.
One, it's confirmed now that Jack was recovered and has been seen in Wano recently. Not a surprise, but glad it's confirmed early.
Two, It seems like Law is implying that Hawkins has no idea about Law and SH's alliance, and it seems like based on his words, he intends to take out Hawkins before he can do anything. This would mean they aren't in any form of alliance.

No, Law is saying that Hawkins is one of the few people on the island who knows who they are, so he wants to stop him before he spreads the word. But yes, this would indicate that they don't have any existing arrangements.

I also still like that both Luffy and Zoro fully trust O-kiku to take care of herself. It reminds me of their dynamic with Ussop and whenever he's acting, even sometimes justifiably, cowardly.
If Shutenmaru is a member of the SH then that means they've taken down some of Kaidou's men already. Would be very nice if its God Ussop continuing to cement his legacy.
The people of Wano are too proud to cry from hunger but somehow they can allow themselves to get taken over by a pirate crew? If they were as proud as they claim to be they would have enacted operation scorched earth where they burn down everything and use the advantage of knowing their homeland to fight back. Basically be like Russia against Germany. It's just such a glaring contradiction.
Why did Luffy have to wait for awhile before he could save tama though? Did he need to build up energy for speed or was he using observation haki to wait for the right time to strike.
Also nice touch with Luffy and Zoro listening and trying to honor okiku's plea not to anger the beast pirates. Its a nice callback to the last time they were warned about it and didn't listen and all the shit they had to deal after they didn't. Our boys are maturing.
Tama really reminds me of Luffy as a kid somehow.

Most likely Hawkins knows SH & Heart took down Doflamingo but just after that they learned that SH & Bege teamed up and escaped Whole Cake Island. One could easily think Straw Hats are now in partnership with Bege.
Anyway, i think Law means that onle Hawkins knows who M.D.Luffy really is cause everyone else thinks he is part of Shutenmaru band etc. So Law probably doesn't want the news of SH's arriving in Wano to get to Kaidou's ears.

Man, I was expecting Speed to be this wild biker-like dude, this is pretty much the opposite lol. Guess she'll fight Kiku.
Fun chapter like the ones before it. It was really blatant, but honestly the whole part of the beginning with the citizens starving really got to me.
I am glad that Jack was brought back into the picture before Luffy took down Holdem. I mean, honestly on paper there was no way Holdem should have posed much of a threat to post-Katakuri Luffy. Oda has done a good job with demonstrating how Luffy hasn't taken any steps backward since that fight, but time is ticking before Luffy's and Zoro's exploits start getting boring. I'm also hoping that Holdem's defeat will initiate a more focused series of events that take longer to deal with; we're only 9 chapters into the arc and a ton of stuff has happened already, leaving a bit of whiplash. But yeah, Jack's reintroduction was exactly what I hoped for in the natural progression of Luffy sinking into a deeper hole with his actions, and honestly this could be a pretty good break for the guy after his not-so-great showing in Zou. I don't expect any of the Calamities to be defeated significantly earlier than the others, and the Minks have business to attend to with Jack, so here's hoping that he can take it to the house against Luffy and Zoro.

You mean if Shutenmaru was a SH's fake name? Given the SH's track record of going the laziest route possible by just adding a suffix to their real name I'd be surprised.

I'm wondering, if Law is using that hat, so that Hawkins cannot use his prediction powers. Maybe there are restrictions on that.
I love the setup so far. It makes me very nostalgic seeing Luffy/Zoro as a duo again after around 900 Chapters. Luffy onehitting everyone until now, is also great. It's time that the "fifth yonko", for a change, is not the total underdog.

Maybe Speed has a horse head from his back/ass or something that we didn't saw in the panels. And there is a 5 degree angle on the sides where both eyes can't see…something like 175 degree in front and rear :))

I imagine that Oda has set up Jack vs Luffy so it will be kind of like Luffy vs Cracker.
So Katakuri had great CoO that he specialized in, yet he as well had CoA stronger than Luffys.
I imagine that Zona user like Jack might be CoA specialist and that is why Dukes could not finish him off within 5 days of fighting they had. He was too tough to beat.
So Luffy had big problems with Cracker because different reasons but with Luffy vs Jack I see that fight as show that Luffy still has a way to go with all of his abilities.
I would not be suprised with Zoro and Luffy vs Jack and both of them still having tough time beating him, Luffy would need to get into very big fight to solo a Calamity and we are early into the arc and probably we will not have time for Luffy recovering for few days after big fight. -
Holdem was hyping up his own sword before being KO. I wonder if Zoro or someone else will now pick it up, since it looks pretty peculiar and might turn out to be powerful.

Hawkins might start to recalculate the chance to defeat kaidou with 3 more worst generation members are there now.

Please, NO jack for luffy. He already defeated holdem and forgot his name sumo guy. Enough warm up for kaidou. Last arc he got cracker and katakuri because he didn't get BM, leave some bones for your allies too, luff. Minks have to take on jack.
I think it's time to get updates on rest of the SHs and allies with holdem and kiku's stalker out of the way, law showing up, o tama safe again, it doesn't look like the hawkins thing is going places fast, so might as well check on the rest.

Totally agree, Usopp, Franky, Sanji didn't get a proper fight since the time skip. Daruma & Sugar aren't of any worth, same with Senor Pink and Ikaros. Those were all fun games compared to what Luffy/Zorro had to deal with.

How is Senor Pink not a proper fight? It went for several chapters, with both sides fighting on equal terms before a victor came out. Is it because Pink allowed himself to be KO'ed at the end?

I would really love to see Law fighting Hawkins. But, like most people, I don't think this is going to happen.
And yes, please have somebody else defeating Jack. I might forget something but, if we discount Franky vs. Senior Pink and Zoro vs. Pika (which, by the way, Zoro won easily without even a scratch), we haven't seen a proper fight in years… Like ten years, not three or four years.
I enjoy Luffy beating the shit out of people, but I also want to see Zoro and Sanjii fighting for their lives again.

Luffy almost died to Katakuri who helped him win and Jack is hyped to be insanely durable fighter.
Law should be up against Calamity in my opinion as Luffy was put against Katakuri not so long ago. Though truth is that Luffy already got enough enemies to beat for now. Sanji should get his share.

That aside, I am just a bit worried about the Beast Pirates portrayal so far. It is no surprise that no one below the Calamities can put up a direct fight against Luffy, but still I would have hoped for some sort of resistance (people talked about the BMP incompetence, but we saw plenty of names there being able to give Luffy or Sanji trouble). Maybe Oda is purposefully letting the hype die down so when a Calamity wreaks havoc it takes us with out guard down… I hope so, at least.

Since when has Luffy become bloodthirsty? Also, he dropped because he knows full well he could catch her. I mean, how many times has Luffy saved people by grabbing them from there. Also, Zoro was down there so he could trust he'd handle her.
Yeah, right now the beast pirates are fighting against the Fifth Emperor of the sea. Of course, they will be outclassed.
My only dissapointment is that we haven't seen how the smile fruits have enhanced the strength of Kadiou's crew. Otherwise they're all just a bunch of brownbeard tier fodder that look like animals.

I expect this to go "Zoro vs Calamity (difficult win)", "Sanji vs Calamity (losing, puts on new suit, then wins) ", "Luffy vs Calamity (Convincing win)".
All strawhats + Law + Hawkins + Kinemon then fight in a tagteam vs Kaidou, with Luffy landing the finishing blow and establishing himself as a Yonkou level fighter.
Edit: forgot about Big Mam. Uhhhh… idk how it'll go once she drops into the picture? Perhaps she arrives just as Kaidou is defeated, prompting the typical end of arc straw hat escape.
Also no clue how Orochi will fit into the picture. It's tempting to say the arc should have a Dressrosa esque conclusion... but I feel like with all the Yonkou stuff going around it'd be too neat to just end it like that.

There are also Orochi own guards. I assuming some of the strongest samurai may work for him, he could have at least one subordinate on the "Yonkou Top Commander level".
For now I am still hoping on the SH fighting on the Calamities themselves (god damn it, how I want Law to just go away), but on 2x1 fights because I don't think anyone in the crew but Luffy should be able to take on enemies of that level 1x1 yet.
Knowing Oda, something so coordinated and uniform like that would be impossible (that's a compliment), that would fit Naruto or Bleach more, but it is still a fun thing to picture (in my mind, it would be Zoro/Sanji/Jinbe paired with Nami/Robin/Carrot in whatever order, each duo fighting a Calamity). -

For the sake of justice, I'd rather have Inu and Neko Team up against him. Luffy could defeat him temporarily beforehand though. But I hope the Mink leaders will deliver the final blow against him.

Because there are other Calamities he could fight instead, not to mention Kaido and whatever the hell Big Mom brings along. Though it wouldn't be remotely surprising if Luffy fights Jack, I get why people want someone else, especially Inuarashi and Nekomamushi, to do it instead.
