Chapter 924 : Ha*
-
Robin's face omg lmao
-
Those last panels, it shows Luffy and Kid talking to each other right? I couldn't really tell at first glance.

they only say the same thing at the same time, for plot purposes
i dont think they aware of each other, yet
-
Oh, so that mystery person isn't Kid then? Very interesting.
-
The shadowy figure in the cell looks exactly like an old picture of Dr Vegapunk I remember seeing somewhere.
-

Oh, I thought the "Oh, you…" part was referring to the two of them noticing each other as the curtains close.

That's definitely what it is
-
Nice chaps.. So only luffy fall…but the way kaido explain about the glare seems interesting....demn got break next week
-
So, who's that silhouette guy? That isn't like Kidd
-
The silhouette guy could possibly be one of the three Samurai that Kinemon said they need to recruit.
-

They are talking to each other ("Hm? Ah… you are...").
-
First off….those face faults. OMG...that Robin face....that will definitely live on until the end of the series.
Secondly, I still can't tell if Hawkins is on Kaido's side. My head cannon says he has his own plans, and needs to get these other guys out of the way before they ruin it. I'm liking him more and more every chap. He dishing out L's wherever he goes.
Thirdly, REALLY REALLY interested in who is the mystery character in the cell. I'm trying to brainstorm candidates...It's someone that can consume poison like it's nothing, so I'm ruling out Killer and other supernovas...don't think it is a leftover of Whitebeard's crew. Maybe one of the three samurai that they are after?
Fourthly, love the whole Kabuki theater / acts theme he's going for this arc and Kaido's hierarchy. Excited for act 2!
-
It seems like silhouette person recognised luffy
-
"Connected by fate" I'm more convinced now that Kidd is Shank's little brother…
-
Kid and Luffy are the only two of the Supernova that have CoC correct? As far as we know, that seems to be something that alludes to them being ahead of the pack, though we already kind of knew that.
-
-
Curious that the "first act" ends in the middle of a volume, rather than at the end of it.
-
So, Kid and Luffy has been lumped together, huh!

When did KID has been shown to use CoC?

When did KID has been shown to use CoC?
This chapter, Kaido just mentioned he has it.
-
Remember this?
It's not a total surprise, since Vegapunk's name fits the gambling theme so he is or was probably part of Kaido's crew.

Kaidou mentioned that Kid had it similar to Luffy
-
-
Oh, I thought the "Oh, you…" part was referring to the two of them noticing each other as the curtains close.
that is why i use yet in that last sentense
-
The silhouette guy's eye looks like Caribou who was captured by X Drake
-
Really great chapter. So far Kaidou is my favorite Yonkou out of the four we've seen.
I like that he is thinking about recruiting Luffy and not just beating him. It shows that our protagonist is nothing but fodder in his eyes and its absolutely refreshing.
In fact this is one of the things that disappointed me about Doflamingo. He went on and on about not underestimating Luffy and the SH, so I always expected him to try and recruit/control one of them.
Guy in cell has to be one of the 3 samurais worth a hundred people.
I'm curious what the Samurai's excuse for being enslaved is. At least in dressrosa the slaves had the excuse of being turned into toys.
I don't see why they don't just revolt. Kaidou's main force doesn't seem that threatening.
The face faults we're the best part of this chapter. That Robin face was absolutely hilarious. I rarely laugh out loud reading OP but this time, Oda got me.
-

-
If Tama is Hiyori, now both Kiku and Inuarashi do not recognize her at all.
-
that is why i use yet in that last sentense
And we tell you you are wrong because they recognize eachother in the last panel before the curtain falls
-
The way it resolved (Luffy thrown into a cell beside Kid) was expected, but I´m still disappointed.
Kaidou clearly said he would kill them. Now he´s lenient, for story purposes. He even let Law go to get drunk…that´s way too convenient.
I wish Law had saved Luffy and they would hide and recover for the time being and let Zoro or somebody else release Kid.
Now we have the exact same story-line as in the BM arc, trash-talking Luffy, who got owned and imprisoned. Feelsbadman...
This was the first Wano chapter I didn´t like at all.
-

She could be a baby when the attack happens

Law saving Luffy only to hide wherever is a far more boring alternative. Glad Oda didn't go down that route, especially since this sets up Kid's reintroduction nicely, and gives way for the other players in the arc to breathe more. (And makes us wonder how the Straw Hats will break him out.) I am not concerned with a little repetitiveness when the other option is worse by far.

It could be either a prison break or for once an arc where all strawhats try to save luffy.
-
She could be a baby when the attack happens
Going off of the silhouette we saw, while it's not impossible for them to be unable to recognize her, she was definitely not a baby.
-
Damn it, the way that Beast Pirate goon said regarding Luffy was hit/defeated by Kaido's club reminded me of some readers theory that Kaido's club, part of it might be made from seastone. I really hope that is not the case.
-
Huh, I hadn't caught that Kid was a COC user too. When Kaido revealed it I thought he was talking about Oden, the words "brat" and "Kid" melded in my mind. But yeah, so that's two COC users revealed in this chapter. Should I quote my namesake and say "Too many Conquerors"? Nah, figures that Kid would be the most likely Supernova to have it, he exudes leadership and drive. Kaido will probably have it too, although I think it'd be interesting if he didn't.
I enjoyed the revelation that Seastone comes from Wano. Explains why it's so rare and offers some pretty neat possibilities for combat in the future - cue speculations about Zoro getting a seastone sword. Using that tiny nail to neutralize Law was pretty cool.
The facefaults were golden.
Looks like things are going the way I was hoping. A chance for the other Straw Hats to get more focus, but when we do go to Luffy I'm excited for what's in store with Kid and that mysterious prisoner. The literal curtains at the end of the chapter added to the excitement for some reason, seems grand and official. What a first act it was, I don't think anyone was expecting anything really like it. It had its issues, but I enjoyed its overall structure.
My biggest gripe about the chapter would probably be omitting Law's escape from Hawkins. Overall a ton of things happened this chapter which could sometimes be overwhelming, especially coming off two very short, focused action chapters, and Law's stuff seemed to suffer the most from that.

It most likely is and why do you hope that's not the case?

Guess Don wasn't joking about the NW being full of Coc users.
-
they definitely hear each other and began to talk
yup, i think that is what after that panel
it were my understanding, though
-
It not Kid but kaido means by red hair shank.
-
Kaidou wants to make them subordinates? I thought he was really hell-bent on killing them, though…
-

We let you count how many conqueror haki users were in Roger's crew. I wouldn't be surprised if Crocus had it too
For me the seastone fells a bit off. It's not so rare that you say. Especially the marine has a big amount and you wonder how they got it. Maybe with Doflamingo business
-
Is the implication that there is some extraordinary property to Kaido's club?
-
Kaidou wants to make them subordinates? I thought he was really hell-bent on killing them, though…
Yep, argued with BM who gets to kill him. https://jaiminisbox.com/reader/read/one-piece-2/en/0/907/page/4
Now that it´s prison break time #3, where´s our guy Jimbei?
-
Kaidou wants to make them subordinates? I thought he was really hell-bent on killing them, though…
All villains says that but none of them really do. Why are you still surprised ?
-
I found interesting that the chapter eneded with: end of the first act. Is this something to japanese story telling? because this seems like the first time Oda has done this and realy wants to set wano apprt from the rest of arcs.
-
It most likely is and why do you hope that's not the case?
it just if that is the case, it make Kaido less impressive.
Speaking of CoC users, can it's user spirit be broken? I mean, its CoC. Supposedly those who have it is somebody that is a natural born leader and have willpower and charisma that no ordinary leaders possess.
-

It's made of adamantium.

Apparently that's how kabuki plays are written. 5 acts divided in 3 narrative sections. The second section is named Ha btw.
-

Technically he's never actually said he was going to kill them. Sometimes you get mad at a guy, and send a Hyper Beam down their way. Shit happens.
