Luffy's Observation Haki is being shown off really well already. Not to mention his Conquerors Haki.

That was definitely some high-level Observation from Luffy during his fight with Kaido's goons, and I was delighted to see it in action.
The chapter was a mixed bag imo. There were some speech bubbles that felt a little too explanatory and clunky - I learned a lot about the girl in a way that didn't feel natural. Overall, a lot of the setup for her felt like Oda was rushing to set things in place, which is interesting. This wasn't even the case in Dressrosa, so I'm wondering what Oda has in store for this arc that necessitated such fast buildup.
That being said, the chapter felt pretty vibrant otherwise. I really liked the long nose guy, and as I said before the fight scene. Also, it's interesting how Wano has been set up so far. We barely know anything about the country's layout, which I feel could possibly work in its favor, if we get to explore landmarks along with the characters, and get to see its majesty unfold before us.

I was ready to move on because the page said END. Gave myself a shock when I clicked and there was another page and it said ACE! Almost had a heart attack.
So Wano is indeed that closed off, eh? It's been 2 years since Ace died and this girl had no idea.

Nice nod to 50th anniversary of Jump on page 9.So Sanji saved Nami, Chopper, and Carrot. Wonder if they’re nearby Luffy and Hawkins.Kaido’s factories polluting the rivers are a nod to environmental dangers of imperialism, liked that. Lots of Ace info to come looks like.

Pretty standard start to a new arc.
Nice to see Luffy taming animals again with his haki. Of course, he will mistake the Tengu with Usopp.
I'm guessing Otama is trying to recruit allies for the fight against the shogun & Kaidou Pirates.
Some of the dialogue were a too on the nose with the exposition especially concerning Otama.
So, the entire village of Kuri got wiped out & you can't talk about the Kozuki clan as they are 'traitor'.
I don't really care for Hawkin honestly but with a bit more development, I may warm up to him. -

I got a lot of Water 7 vibes from these chapters. At the beginning of the arc we meet a weird creature with unclear intention (Sumo Frog, Kabuki Octopus) then we meet a cute kid and her guardian who are tied to the island's past (Kokoro/Chimney and Otama/Tengu). Could be just coincident but Water 7 is my favorite arc and I surely hope Wano manages to deliver at least 60-70% of its greatness.
Some dialogues and expositions about Otama are way too rushed but I guess it's better than dragging her subplot out.

Haha. Such a forced criticism, feels weird saying it about any piece of media.
That was some simple memorable action with Luffy! Observation Haki+ (OH+?) is coming in handy. Luffy's reactions are much more instant. The setting for Wano is so exotic and refreshing, I got tired of the sweets setting pretty quickly into WCI. Man, Oda makes me feel so bad for some of his characters. Hang in there kiddo!
Croc or Enel would never.Wanna see the "ancient civilization destroyed" thing done really well? FFXIV did a great take on it. The bar's high for One Piece to beat.

See I suspected Tama was a little girl, but people saying she's the new Rebecca made me worry. Well, so far she's not insufferable and it's been a great introduction. Loving the designs. I can already tell Oda is having a ton of fun drawing this.

I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of the last couple dchapters. Mostly probably because we left Reverie. But I think I might have digested that and can now focus on the arc that everyone and their grandma was looking forward too (except me, I never really got that hype).
Anyway. I like O-Tama and her grandpa. And Tama's power freaked me out a little. Like, we were freaking out when Big Mom ate children, and here is a girl who volunteers to be eaten.
I hope we don't get a repeat of Capone with Hawkins. -

Muh Superman LuffyScrewtape, I know this are the usual receipts that Oda includes in almost any arc… But, nevertheless, he managed to pull off some very surprising developments just recently at Whole Cake island which turned up different from how he usually writes his story... So, have a little bit more faith for Wano, I would suggest. :happy:

It's nice that we get the double since not only only are they unaware of Ace's death, but also Luffy's relationship with him
this is what i was thinking, and all the kouzuki clan getting decimated along with those who support them is clever and scary, the world is unaware that some country like wano getting shut down and manipulated, it reminds me a bit of Alabasta too, with the baroque works acting like they were working for Cobra to fire up the people to start a war, in Wano it's the other way around, they erase every kouzuki relation to make it looks like the Shogun take care of the country, but a lot of people are may be living in a poor situation without knowing what is going on, i am already loving this arc!

The way i can interpret O-Tama's df is that she makes dango balls that once feed to a wild creature it turns tame just like peto peto no mi but instead of forcing them it makes them tame

That dango thingy is based on momotaro, right?
If she can make anyone who eat it into ally, that would be super OP.
But maybe it has time limit or only usable for animals.
I have a funny image of tama 'taming' the original admirals as they're based on momotaro as well.

I like to think that the baboon is actually stupid enough to be tamed by a dango ball. No magic involved. But you might be right.
