Luffy's faces all arc have been really weird or off. It's not like their bad faces or poorly drawn, they just feel off for Luffy. It's like Oda put Zoro's face on Luffy.
That Goku cover got him fucked up.

I wonder if Zoro would leave the Shusui behind since it's a national treasure and get himself a Kitetsu. It would be interesting to see Luffy with a sword lol.

Does anyone think the chronology is confusing with Ace in this chapter? He arrived 4 years ago, and stayed a few weeks.
But then a few pages later, it shows that Tama is five, which means he either stayed around her birthday, or stayed longer than a few weeks. If that's true, then that's also about a year before he died, and as far as we can tell from this chapter he's still the Captain of the Spade Pirates. Which means that's only a year or less of him being apart of the Whitebeard Pirates.
But as far as I can tell, wasn't he a Division Commander for a year or more? The timeline is getting mixed up in my head.

Anyway chapter was nice. I loved Luffy jumping on Zoro.
Oda left quite some mysteries too. We don't know who the chased woman is but she is probably important.
Hitetsu is waiting for someone. Could it be Kinemon or Momo ?And Oda did not forget the sword ranking

I forgot to mention how amused I was by Chopper being the boxer.
To those saying Luffy's expressions are different, I seriously think he's still coming off the 'high' of being told his bounty is 1.5 billion. To me, his smiles are a little closer to Gol D Roger's in certain panels now. Or Ace's.Woohoo! Oda already fully brought back up the supreme-grade, etc. blades.
This break hurts, because we're going into a double issue next time too. So I guess I'll distract myself by catching up on some series and trying to make some good money.
Croc or Enel would never.Wanna see the "ancient civilization destroyed" thing done really well? FFXIV did a great take on it. The bar's high for One Piece to beat.

I like that we're getting more into the animal stuff. Don't care about the classic Japan theme, but all these beasts running around makes it better.

This chapter was pretty heavy on exposition like the last chapter, but it felt a little more dialed back and somehow we're still on a really fast track, which is pretty neat. People are saying the first-ever full confrontation between Supernovas is a boring cliffhanger? What? lol
This week's color spread is another winner. I also really liked the presentation of the first page. Luffy's statement that Ace is dead felt really impactful. Tama wearing Luffy's hat is really cute and I liked the panel of her beating up his head.
That being said, I kinda felt underwhelmed at one aspect, and that was when Luffy gets to Wano Wasteland. I feel like that panel would've been so much more impactful if we didn't have Hitetsu saying before about what Kaido had done to the environment. Not a huge blown moment, since it's not like he went into much detail about it, but it could have been done better.
So, zoro will change his shushui sword with nidai kitetsu in this arc?

Zoro's gonna replace Yubashiri probably,since he's gotta duel for Shusui. Unless he decides to honor Ryuma's grave or something and return it, but I doubt it.Edit: I'm a dumbass and forgot that Yubashiri was the sword that Shu broke. I could see Zoro losing Shusui if only because his swords would then be Wado Ichimonji, Nidai and Sandai Kitetsu. Though considering how much he likes Shusui, I'm honestly not sure what'll happen.
Luffy's probably not going to tell her that unless she asks him. He's not really one to give exposition unless he's prompted, unlike Hitetsu.

We don't know anything about Ace pirate life timeline except that when he meet Luffy it has been 3 years since he left.
There is also that Ace novel with a guy named Deuce iirc. IDK if it is Canon though, but I guess it is.

So far, this arc has a rather apocalyptic touch to it, an ancient and traditional country, enemies with advanced technology, unusual beasts, wastelands and so forth, pretty untypical for One Piece from the style but i really like it.
You can really see how Oda has been thinking about this arc for a pretty long time.Trying to find a mythical equivalent to the beast Hawkins is riding but so far nothing has truly stuck, might be a unique invention of Oda.

The interaction between Luffy and Zoro was refreshing! I hope Hawkins goes all out testing Zoro and Luffy's strength and explains more about his ability too. I don't mind a chapter or two of them.

I wonder if Luffy would be fine eating poisoned meat. Magellan made him resistant to poison and I supposed the txicity is diluted in all that meat.
Also free food seems kind of strange when Tengu and the girl are starving.
