There's no "if" anyone is Paramecia or "if" anyone is Logia. Oda compiled a list of who is which in Vol. 30. Case closed.
And the only Logia are Smoker, Ace, Croc and Ener according to that list. We also know Ao Kiji is one.
Bomu Bomu no Mi is listed as Paramecia.

As for Zoro vs Mr. 1, that was a different case at a different time. We hadn't seen how powerful enemies on the Grand Line could be; it wasn't until Jaya and Ao Kiji's appearance that it was put into perspective. We have men like Whitebeard who is still the World's Strongest even hooked up to dialsysis, and Ao Kiji decimated the Strawhats without breaking a sweat. It wouldn't make any sense at all for luffy to just be able to beat these people because of the power of his heart or some cheesy crap like that.
In Zoro vs. Mr. 1, Zoro sees an unbeatable opponent; how can he beat a man made out of steel if he can't cut it? He "surpassed himself" in a similar way, but it was much faster. And now that I think about it, it was kinda cheesy how he suddenly remembered that little bit with his sensei.

Meh, I kinda hope that this is just Luffy stronger, faster, better and not anything too big like that. Part of Luffy's charm, for me, is that he just beats the hell out of everything, and that the "rubber" property was used more like proper rubber, instead of elasticity (Mr. Fantastic and Plastic Man).
But he has all of the factors of a Logia. His body becomes said element, he makes said element. And if Oda made him smarter, I'm sure he could control said element. It's just that it is not a real element. More like a subelement, but he is still a logia in relation to it.

Zoro got stronger and got a new ability, this if Luffy getting stronger with a new ablity though hopefully an irreversible one. you have to think that for luffy to beat everyone with his current abilities just on the strenghth of his heart would be a tad lame to say the least so he has to visibly evolve at some stage and where better to reach the next level than in the goverments strong hold? i mean let's be honest, even Franky had the better of Luffy so who the hell was he gonna protect? a stronger luffy has been due for a long time and a real visible evolution is the best way to do it without a timejump. if the strawhats can't beat CP9 individually they have no hope on the rest of the grandline.
but to counter the need to evolve thing, if Whitebeards abilities are that superior to everyone else's and he was equal in strength to a normal human with no devil fruit ability then Luffy can overcome CP9, Aokiji and Whitebeard with heart, drive and battle wits.

Mr. 5 is paramecia, because even though he can produce and become a bomb himself, he cannot control bombs, so he is not Logia.

I actually felt the same during Zoro versus Braham, when Zoro suddenly pulled the flying slash from his ass. That was a let down. Since then he has done it like three more times but in my mind it still doesn't feel right.

Hmm…I won't make any statements on the whole "Gear" thing 'till I get a translation of the 2nd last page. But Vulcanization seems like a good guess...Have I understood it correctly, or would the higher density cause Luffy to need less "Strecth" for the same effect as "lvl 1" attacks?
And So, FF takes on Baskerville...Now I'm curious about what'll happen to the Jurors, now that everyones inside...Perhaps they'll try and stop Kiwi and Mosu at the other gates, or run into the giants.

Wonder what Sanji was so worried about and where the heck is Zoro going. It looks like Baskerville finally decide to join the party, I'd give him (them) one chapter before they go bye bye (then again, this is Oda were talking about).
Luffy vs. Blueno. Looks like the the Door effects are temporary. Damn these two are just going at it here and Luffy starting find ways around that martial art. Can't help but feel a little sorry for Blueno cause it looks he getting somewhat frustrated that this "dinky" pirate is keeping up with him. And now he has to face a new set of Luffy's moves, Gear 2. Not looking too good for Blueno.

As far as the Logia versus Paramecia powers go, the one that I really don't understand is Mr. 3. I suppose that he can't change the shape of his body and that's what makes the difference, but of all of the Paramecias seen thus far, his Fruit seems to be the closest to a Logia in its general nature. Really, it would have made more sense for him to be a low-end Logia type who hadn't fully developed his ability yet.
I don't think Logias can control their element. I don't remember seeing anything like that.
Crocodile was throwing around sandstorms in Alabasta that were powerful enough to destroy villages; either he was controlling them from a distance or he was actually part of them, in which case he would still have to be controlling a lot more sand than his own body.

Uh, the Braham fight? That didn't make Zoro anymore of a long range fighter than Blueno is with his Rankyaku. It's a long range attack, but he's still not a long range fighter. And cutting waves are only natural, after seeing Mihawk cut a galleon in half.

The storms started in his hands from his sand. I'd say it just got stronger 'cause of all the revolving and became difficult to stop. Or he could control the sand from his body and make it spin around with the other sand. I don't think he'd sit there and start it if he didn't have to.

well i guess that takes him one step closer to mihawk: the guy sliced ckrieg's ship from the comfort of his own coffin boat.
perhaps the way that zoro introduced the long range slash was a bit sudden, but i think it needed to be pulled out at some point in order for him to better master his use of the swords

Makes it pretty clear to me that Luffy vs. Blueno is the big climatic fight for Eneas Lobby.
I still think the confrontations with the rest of CP9 will in seperate locales. (Marine HQ, Inep Down)
