That. Was. Incredible! One of the best matches in this World Cup so far, absolute magic! Japan played some wonderful football and Belgium had a momentous comeback. Victory could have smiled to either side, it ended up being Belgium. Congrats to both teams for such a spectacle, I loved every minute of it!

What a shitty match. The best part of the match somehow came after the 90th minute when they finally starte footballing a bit.

Colombia didn't exactly cover themselves in glory either.
Especially with all the gamemanship, cheap fouls and harrassing of the officials.What happened to booking players for dissent?
Several times a huge crowd of Colombia players repeatedly surrounded and screamed at the ref.All in all, a tied score for full time was probably fair (despite the fact that England almost held on to their lead).
After that it was all about the 50/50 chance of penalties, which fell in our favor for once -
Really bad game. Neither of both played good creative football, but I think Colombia was the worst. James absence affected us seriously.

I'm bummed I won't be able to watch the whole match of France vs Uruguay because I have an exam starting one hour before the match. Nietzsche, I love you but you're making me miss the match I looked forward the most…
Anyway, I should be able to catch up in the second half of the game -
What an absolutely disgraceful match between England and Colombia. So much time wasted, so many fouls, so many complaints to the referee, so much dirty game. All in all, atrocious. The referee should have showed even more cards and sent off some players, I wasted 90 minutes of my life with this crap. I'm glad I missed the extra time, having dinner in peace was way more important than watching any more of this. This fun World Cup did not deserve this kind of show tonight. Ugh. Congrats to England, I guess, they were the least dirty and finally overcame the penalty shoot out trauma.

Woop, woop! Thus, I'm 8/8. Unfortunately, I was working during the game and didn't get to see much of it because for some reason it was totally packed today. Gonna watch the highlights after getting my well deserved sleep and will post my quarter final predcitons tmrw as well.

The match itself was shitty, to say the least. But if there's something praiseworthy, then it's Trippier's deliveries and Kane's display as a whole. After the Euros 2016 I thought Kane was done on the international stage but he came back all the stronger.

Eng - Swe / Sweden cannot score goals and against England, or at least this England, you can't win by just defending.
Rus - Cro / Croatia really disappointed me in the last game, so I think Russia will ride the wave they're currently on and advance here. -
Brazil vs belgium is the star game from this stage, and very likely could give the champion. France is there too in my top 3 for the title, Uruguay could pull some surprise the way the play, but I rather not.
