hehe I know I'm reviving a dead thread, but I'm feelin' entitled. I was one of the few to answer in the oldest bracket, but today's a milestone … I'm 50. I remember there was at one point at least three older than me here but can't remember who.
How old are you?

Ubiq? But i want to say he's like mid forty something.
And bustermom don't post much. But she might be up there

24 and there's so much more.

Damn, never would have pegged you for that old. But happy half-a-century!

I think he's older than 40. I seem to remember he was closer to, or same as, my age.

Haha it's always fun to pipe up with ages here at Alrong Park as we truly do get all ages in here. I think it was around 5 years ago we had someone who was in their 70s.
Thank you for the b-day wishes. I know many ladies try to deny getting up there in their old age (yes I am talking from experience, my great-grandmother was notorious) but I like to think Life's thrown some shit at me since I've become an adult, (true not as bad as some, but life did its best to trip me via disability at young age)I deserve to brag topping the hill! -

Haha I get that a lot. My own fault as I normally use male characters like Law or Usopp as my avatar. When I don't its a cat which can be gender neutral. I also tend not to be very 'girly' in my talk

Hey congrats my X-pal, think this way in Marvel years you would be around Kate's age or Rahen.

For once I won't complain about Marvel's notorious sliding scale.
Though I could argue we really don't know what Kate Pryde's age really is :ninja: But that topic would be better for a different thread, If you're interested, I could post it in Western comics thread…
(wtf.. why do I keep trying to type 'threat' instead of 'thread'??) -
I'm now 26, started watching Funimation's dub of One Piece back in 2009 I originally didnt like One Piece cause of the glimpses of then4kids dub I would see on CN turned me off on it then one day I got curious looked it up and caught Funi's redub and instantly fell in love with the show. It gave me much needed laughter as I was going through a very bad depression and other things. Then I joined here in 2010 and have been rocking with OP and this site ever since

On this site in particular I tend to associate people with their avatars, so that probably doesn't help, lol. For instance, Robby is an occasionally blinking husky to me.

I'm 32 too now, my birthday was on March 29.
Thank you

Actually yes! You're a female irl too, right? I feel like you've mentioned that before, but if not and I'm just prying too much feel free to ignore me.

I am a female in real life indeed! o: You're not prying, don't worry! ^^

Well I'll be damned. I took you for a ~30 y.o. Congrats on the half century mark! It's a nice round number and you're right, you should brag about it!
I recently turned 25, actually. Nice number too. I think I'm going to keep it for the next 5 years or so. It's a nice time to stop counting

I actualy am Flampé, btw :ninja: Totally didn't change my avatar because of a bet in this forum. Nope, never happened.

Huh. So chrior has a PhD in bio-engineering.
The thing you don't expect to learn about people
Wonder who else is a brainiac?
-
Well, I'm a certified medical assistant and pharmacy technician.

You're welcome. Pretty funny how Flampe's new idol is my namesake.
(It has been two years, so I have no issue if you want to change it. Though at this point I think it suits you)

Got a good laugh out of that
Correction, I don't have a PhD yet, I'm still halfway through.

I would never do anything to disappoint Kaido-sama :ninja: But yeah, at this point I think it's become my trademark. I have yet to see anyone like Flampé enough to have her as avatar or anything like it. Understandably.

25.
Came here when I was 14-15ish. Used to lurk alot because the Bleach and Naruto threads were hilarious.
Picked up One Piece around 14 and that was also when my life experienced some changes so the series helped me to get through some rough times -
Okay I'll bite, I'm 15. I feel like such a baby here, I guess it isn't too surprising that so many people here are over 30 though considering the concept of forums in general are probably lost on a lot of people my age lol.

This might be the perfect thread for the thoughts that have been circling in my mind lately.
So I'm soon turning 26, and despite this, I don't really feel like an adult. Then again, what does it mean to feel like an adult? What does it mean to be an adult even? Legally speaking, it's when you turn 18 or whatever the age of consent is in your country/state.
On paper, I'm pretty much an adult, no questions about it. I own a car, have my own apartment, have a steady job, take care of my own finances and needs and make every decision necessary to lead my own life. Yet that adult-y feeling is either absent or I have just overlooked it somehow. I guess all the things mentioned above are more or less irrelevant and being an adult is a much more philosophical question deeply entwined in self-discovery and development.
It probably doesn't help that I look younger than my age so looking in the mirror doesn't really help. Maybe I'm still looking for that image of an adult I've developed in my childhood and that proves to be lacking and not at all representative of reality. Looking at my friends, some the same age as me, some older, I still have that strange feeling that in some sense, we're not adults. It's like looking at my cat and suddenly realizing, hey, she's already 4, that counts as being a full-fledged adult, but she's still a fluffy little furball that acts exactly the same she's been forever.
Growing up I had to realize that adults are more often than not, just as lost in the vast reality we call life as anyone else. They're not those secure bastions of knowledge and skills I saw them as a child. Yet my feelings seem to be lagging behind. My mind knows I'm an adult, everything points to that logically. But my heart is still uncertain.
That turned needlessly poetic, but I'm just curious if anyone else feels the same or if anyone has any thoughts on the subject.

Fell more or less the same except, I haven’t landed a job after collage graduation because economy is bullshit here. -

@Johnny:
Oh, you lucky bastard.
29 is not so old either.
-
I'll be 37 in like 2 weeks. People often mistake me for mid 20s for some reason. I usually respond with the classic John Mulaney line of "I don't look older, I just look WORSE." Started reading One Piece in 2003, joined APF in 2005. It's so interesting being on here as long as some forum members' lifetimes! I feel like such an old man. Also nice to see there are at least a few over 30 folks on here! Wish I knew who that one 70 year old member was.

@SarahNolan:
Hello guys, Im 28 and i love it )))
I'm jealous! 28 was such a fun age.
I'll be 32 in July.

26 but I can't vote in the poll :ninja:

Oh my god, the poll ends with >35. Who are my fellow old-timers?

One of them is right here. When a poll stop at >35 you indeed feel old. I don't actually feel a day older then 20 though.

Good for you, man. I'm 38 but being a father has made me feel 45 at least, lol.

38 as well here and father to a 12yo but apparantly there's a new one on the way
Sleepless nights ahead. -

Cool, same here! Started with the infamously terrible German Manga translation in 2001.

Sleepless nights ahead.Congratulations! We‘ve got three but there are all very young so it feels like I haven‘t slept in 6 years. If I had a 12 year old, I‘d try to make them babysit all the time.

Well, that was the masterplan all along
But for real now, I think he's not responsible enough yet to actually handle a baby (a 2 or 3 year old might be okay though). If our 12yo was a girl that might be a bit different seeing I hear they grow up faster but it's a boy and a pretty carefree one at that.

I just turned 26 on Oct 25
And joined AP forums from you promoting it on the OP forum of TV.Com back in the day
-
39 at least for the next two months. My conscious love for manga/anime started in the early 90s.
-
34, joined when I was 18.
-
Haha, really? I don't remember much about TV.com anymore.
I think that is how I found and joined APfourm back in 2004 through that site, I was 23 back that.
-
I don't remember how I found AP forums. My guess is someone may have linked it at the old Kaizoku fansubs forum.
-
I think I found this site just by looking up One Piece.
