On the seventh dag of the reverie the news will hit that The Stawhat alliance defeated the Kaidou, Big Mom alliance
Chapter 907: The Empty Throne

-
Leaked pic of the Rocks:
-
We could have a flashback about Otohime and Mjosgard…
Looking forward to see the incoming battle: CP0 vs Revs. ... I guess we'll see Sabo vs Lucci
-
So Stelly really received zero protocol from his predecessor.
Its sort of implied that Sterry had his predecessor assassinated. Back when we first saw Sterry in Lougetown, it was mentioned he just recently ascended to the throne. Then in this arc (ch 905) it's revealed that the previous king (his father-in-law) and his son died "mysteriously" just months ago.
For once, I think Mangastream translation makes more sense
I believe she wants the poneglyphs print back
I agree, Mangastream made more sense.
It's Zeus she wants back. Remember he's animated by a piece of her soul. No way she'd let him go lightly.
-
Feeling at a loss here.
The "rocks" stuff is so elliptic that I first thought I had skipped a page. I …guess Big Mom and Kaido were once part of a same faction/alliance/crew ? And they fought Garp ? Gives me mixed feelings though, I both like and hate it when Oda drops mysterious stuff out of the blue that he may not address again for a year or so. Plus, it's another of those awkward situations where a major player is introduced and they're apparently so important that everyone has known about them for ages, yet I can't help but feel disturbed that we, the reader, never heard about it before.
The return of the grateful Celestial Dragon is a nice twist, but I'm sort of annoyed that he is another DonQuixote. Who exactly would he be to Doflamingo ? Uncle ? Cousin ? And, more importantly, where was he when the rest of his family went into exile ? I wouldn't have minded if he was from another entirely unconnected family, or even a relative of Saint Charlos.
Also, I don't know what to make of Shanks having his entries in the World Government.
Oh, and, CP0. Bah. I've seen enough of stoic Lucci for a lifetime, couldn't be more underwhelmed to be reminded that the secret-police-beyond-secret is CP9 with a new name...
Clearly there was more than 1 Donquiote. Mosjgard is probably cousin of DoFlamingo or something…
It was Homing that chose to be exiled, not the rest of them, why would any of them care if that fool decided to give it all up... -
Also, CP0 doesn't make sense. Aren't they supposed to be (were presented as) a formidable force? Lucci was stomped (in what probably is still the best fight ever in OP) by Luffy 500 chapter ago, pre time skip, pre everything. What's the point is bringing CP9 back with a new name?
Lucci is still an insanely powerful combatant and master secret agent so…
Just because cP0 now has a few former members of cP9 doesn't make automatically make it a cP9 rehash
-
I'm glad Oda didn't give Lucci any personality 'make overs' after his defeat, he's still an asshole.
-
But I LOLed at the warlords being able to take on 2 Yonkous + crew… Seriously?
Well
Weevil, Mihawk, Boa Hanckock, Bartolomeo Kuma, the god Buggy, and each respective crew are a way better force than Luffy alliance to take down Kaido. So yep, it would be hard, probably a lucky victory, but possibly they could take down 2 Yonkous.
-
Just because cP0 now has a few former members of cP9 doesn't make automatically make it a cP9 rehash
It never truly is without Fukuro. But, if he's somehow still around, you know what that means, right? Doriki test and numbers, sweet sweet comparable numbers
-
Garp's and Hina's Chat is intimidating: "Rocks"? And those "rocks" lost their captain. BM and Kaidou worked together in the past, but don't tell me there was someone even above them!
I'm most probably misinterpreting that page. And IDK what's more shocking:
Shanks Meeting the Gorousei or a redeemed CD.
Compared to that, an alliance between BM and Kaidou never seemed that unpredictable. It is still groundbreaking, though.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I'm glad Oda didn't give Lucci any personality 'make overs' after his defeat, he's still an asshole.
Yeah,he is still quite the dick. He just Needs excuses to kill/hurt People and afterwards he can say:"well, it was just an order."
If Stelly is Messing up his pledge, he could be banned from the whole Reverie (that is what i took from the throne-conversation). But I doubt this might happen, so even his plotline stays interesting…

Compared to that, an alliance between BM and Kaidou never seemed that unpredictable. It is still groundbreaking, though.Actually I find Mjostard very interesting development. He's a 'human' Otohime was expecting to find to forge a new relationship between humans and fishmen and now he's CD against (fishman) slavery which is really something. Most likely, the humans that will belong to the new order once the current WG is taken down will be like he seems to be.

Well, the two main members are Lucci and Kaku. They either progresed is strenght at the same rate as Luffy did, which would be weird, or it would be a bit underwhelming.

How do you figure they are the two top dogs?
Seems more likely that those three at dressrosa fill those shoes.
-
although up until this point Roger's works and his death were the clearcut start to the whole age of pirates thing.
The golden age of pirates, yeah.
There were probably a lot of famous pirate crews before Roger and co. but Roger's final words inspired an unprecedented surge in piracy at one time.
yet a crew that was not mentioned, even as legend or tale or anything, during the past 15 years of One Piece. I'm betting on the lack of mentioning being totally disproportionate to the great deeds they, and especially their captain, have achieved in their time.
It seems like this crew wasn't in any way relevant to the story so far though?
We now have a link to this crew because of the possible Kaido/Big Mom alliance
We still only have the smallest idea of Kaido's current situation, never mind his past
Linlin we only got filled in on a bit in the very last arc
Unsurprisingly when people in the story talk about these characters they automatically think "Yonko" not former member of that crew from half a century ago
I'm just not sure if I like this development, it asks a lot of my suspension of disbelief that no one the Strawhats met during their journey, as well as Robin, the history buff or Shanks or Rayleigh would have said anything about two of the Emperors working together 40 years ago.
Why would that come up though?
It's only relevant now that the two might be forming an alliance again
Normally, the two are more than famous enough in their own right to be discussed as individual entities and not former members of x crew?
-
Sai should be able to beat Lucci
-
It never truly is without Fukuro. But, if he's somehow still around, you know what that means, right? Doriki test and numbers, sweet sweet comparable numbers
Fukuro, what does the scouter say about his power level?
-

Most likely, the humans that will belong to the new order once the current WG is taken down will be like he seems to be.
I also think this is a good development, don't get me wrong. By shocking, I meant it was something I didn't expect at all. I honestly thought Otohime received that letter from another CD up at MJ (someone like Homing). Cause when Mjo departed from FI he wasn't even grateful to Otohime for saving his life. He even was mad at her, cause how could she dare to accompany him to the surface? But Otohime really rose up my char-ladder for turning this CD upside down (or rather downside up, cause she changed him to the better).
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Sai should be able to beat Lucci
I guess it is safe to say that Sai was "caught off guard". He got hit, but stood up immediately. Everything is fine yet with Sai power-wise.
-
Well, the two main members are Lucci and Kaku.
They're two members, yeah.
We have no idea of their structure or how many members they have
This would be like seeing the Jabra-Fukoru-Kumadori cell of cP9 and assuming that Jabra is the overall leader of the whole thing
They either progresed is strenght at the same rate as Luffy did, which would be weird, or it would be a bit underwhelming.
Luffy isn't the centre of the One Piece world though
Not everyone has to be a Yonko to be a strong character
I mean Crocodile was defeated mega early on in the story but he's still an extremely powerful pirate that would hold his own against most characters
-
Heck of a chapter, so many characters and revelations that I don't know where to start and still need time to process a lot of it. The main thing that stuck in my head is the part about the throne, that no one sits on it because it symbolizes peace for them. With Dragon and Co. coming in to declare war on them, I definitely see him sitting on the throne to make the declaration, and it's going to be one hell of a scene with that. With Sterry, I imagine Sabo in disguise in the room just thinking "Dear God he's still just as unbearable as before."
-
Wow wow!
Great start to the Arc!
So now we already have the following powerful people all at the same location:
1. Garp
2. Shanks
3. Fujitora
4. Ryukugou
5. Dragon (incoming)
6. Akainu, kizaru and sengoku right next to marijoes
7. Sabo, cp0, celestial dragons, all the kingsAre we going to have a big ass Mexican stand off?
Surely dragon alone cannot handle all these guys, right? Surely?
Don't think shanks will help dragon.. doesn't look like he will be involved in any way with dragons revolution. And BM & kaidou alliance against luffy? Wow.. luffy seriously needs help from the samurais doesn't he? Luffy was no where near to BM in a 1-v-1.
Also, what BM wants apart from luffy's head is surely the cloud homie?? Forgot his name. And we don't see any of her crew around her. I want to see what happened to them. And what happened to germa. So garp became known as the "hero" because he was involved in stopping the "rocks" rampage which involved both BM and kaidou? I hope we get a backstory soon.
I really liked Neptune's reaction. I would also have personally beat up that charloss shit. Good that the queen's sacrifice finally paid off.
Looks like more than ever Luffy is going to need the support of Marco & what remains of the WB pirates and their former allies, that'd be a huge help to their pirate alliance…but there is still the issue of Big Mom and Kaido...they can't take both these unstoppable monsters at once....
-
Sai should be able to beat Lucci
Should he?
Lucci's a master Assassin, rokushiki expert and the strongest combatant in history of cP9
Sai is a martial artist with exceptional prowess in Hasshoken
Seems like a toss up to me
-
Holy shit, that was awesome.
One minor thing: I bet the certain pirate that’s gonna be discussed in that room is Edwar D. Teach, not our lovable rubber protagonist.
I bet on Black beard
-
-
Curiously, for the past weeks I was wondering how Oorlumbus managed to keep a ship since the Yonta Maria Fleet probably doesn't belong to him, but to the King of Standing Kingom and was just entrusted to him. This cover answered it.
-
BM and Kaido! A lot of great stuff going with this chapter but that page with them looking menacingly at each other (… through the phone) gotta take the cake of the most exciting page. I am particularly happy with Linlin answering to Kaido's death threat with a "heh, good luck with that".
But what really matters is... LINLIN IS GOING TO WANO!!! I knew it! It would be such a clunky writing to have her build up for 80 chapter, then put that on the vault for years and then going back to it in Elbaf, it simply didn't made sense. Having her following up to Wano makes a lot more sense and can lead to many interesting developments.
The presence of the BMP (if Luffy will be healed by then, we should expect everyone in her crew to also be in perfect condition by that time) on top of the Beast Pirates also mean the Whitebeard Pirates being there won't be an overkill anymore. I was actually hoping Marco's group would be unable to make it to Wano simply because having a whole Yonkou crew as helpers (besides all the other ones Luffy was already getting) would take away any danger Kaido's crew could represent. Also, assuming Linlin and Kaido will not be on good terms when it's time to the fight against Luffy, they could clash and make their downfall more believable. -
Hina and Garp talk was really confusing... I couldn't really grasp what was going on there, but I could tell it was exciting. I suppose BM and Kaido are involved in this Locks thing, otherwise it wouldn't make sense for Hina to just drop that at that point. But the best thing is that this is not going to be one of those mysteries going on forever, since we are bound to find out what it means at some point during Wano.
-
I thought Charlos was going to sneak around and try to catch Shirahoshi at night when everybody was sleeping. Nop. He just goes in front of all the kings and captures a princess as his slave. It doesn't matter how much the status of the Celestial Dragons as heavenly beings above everyone else was stated before, this scene really shows it beyond any doubt.
-
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND... SUDDENLY KAKU!!! FINALLY!!!! OMG, I love this guy. Look at him looking all cute all in white. Do some pasta machine, will you, Kaku?
In a few hours I will be annoyed because Jabra wasn't there, but for now I am just happy I finally got to see one of my all time favorite characters in OP back. -
And a Donquixote. Linlin, Kaku and an indirect reference to Doflamingo through this guy. This chapter almost got all of my favorite characters in some way, except there isn't any mention of Buggy…
… or is there???
Now being serious, I suppose Shanks is there to talk about Teach. He is some sort of Opposite Teach's Witness, going from door to door raising awareness against Blackbeard.
- Last notes. It seems Otohime managed to save her daughter's life from the grave, Momousagi and Chatton were made canon (I suppose the Gold movie did that for some people, but I don't know how we are supposed to take the movies) and... are those two Elders glued to those chairs? I don't think we ever saw them moving from those exact places:
EDIT: I forgot to mention Sterry. Gotta love him wanting to fuck up a 800 peace treat just to be the one and only king. I got to say, he is a douche, but you can see the crazyness of the ASL trio of brothers in him… I wonder if that is on purpose, since he is Sabo's adopted brother, so in a way maybe he is like the fourth outcast evil member of that brotherhood?
-
-
Should he?
Lucci's a master Assassin, rokushiki expert and the strongest combatant in history of cP9
Sai is a martial artist with exceptional prowess in Hasshoken
Seems like a toss up to me
This what if Lucci had been at the coloseum question shall haunt us forever.
-
Sai should be able to beat Lucci
Luffy and Lucci were almost at the same level when they fougth. Sure Lucci also became stronger, so … who knows how strong he is now
-
But to sum this chapter up, the Editors are really pushing Oda:"This Needs to be done in 10 chapters! 10! CHAPTERS! That is how this chapter felt to me. The Content was still awesome though.
I like Kizaru's face at well:"Dude, why are you bossing me around? I am older than you!"And no matter how Close I looked: I've counted only 19 weapons around the throne. One is probably obscured by another, or the Gandhi-Gorousei hasn't dropped his Katana yet.
-
Should he?
Lucci's a master Assassin, rokushiki expert and the strongest combatant in history of cP9
Sai is a martial artist with exceptional prowess in Hasshoken

Sai easely beat Water 7 Lucci but time skip Lucci probably became much stronger and because he is such a badass onepiece character it would make sense he beat Sai easely now
-
@.access:
(…)are those two elders glued to those chairs?
I know that the dreadlock one stood once, Holding onto his stick (i GUESS it was right after the summit war?). IDK about the other though. But during Spandams flashback within Frankys flashback they were outside of the "authority-room" (I like that Name: simple and short)
-
we don't know how much lucci has improved so there's really no point in asking if he can or cannot beat sai and viceversa..
all we know is that 2 years ago he was pretty much on par with luffy -
I kinda feel sad to what Rob Lucci's character had become. He's like what Koala used to be.. but a kill machine.. in a suit… with his pigeon.. in its own suit..
-
This what if Lucci had been at the coloseum question shall haunt us forever.
Pfft nah obvs everyone would have destroyed Lucci, i mean….he was featured earlier in the story!
We all know One Piece power levels are just a steep one way curve
-
Great action packed chapter. If Dragon does have an inside man at Mary Geois then Mjosguard certainly is my first candidate.
-
With all the SH-allies gathering last chapter and also this chapter, I really miss Icebarg between 'em.
He should have been invited. After all, his Company is quite important to the WG.
But the Reverie seems to be the Kind of "only Monarchs are allowed here". -
Sai should be able to beat Lucci
Seeing how even Bellamy became much stronger, a fighting prodigy like Lucci should probably be on a whole different level by now.
Sai is strong, and specially after mastering that earth shattering kicking technique, but Lucci is supposed to be a beast.
I could never see Lucci being thrown aside like this, even as a gag. (And again, it's implied Sai powered up at the end of the arc, but still).
-
Any scenarios on how in hell did Shanks get there without anyone noticing ? I presume only the Elders know he is there and the soldiers guardint the authority room.
Jedi mind tricks. Hence the cape.
-
@O:
Sai easely beat Water 7 Lucci but time skip Lucci probably became much stronger and because he is such a badass onepiece character it would make sense he beat Sai easely now
Something we don't have any evidence for tempered with something else that we have no evidence for
Sweet

@O:

I don't agree with your first statement. Pre-timeskip Luffy was already very strong, he beat two warlords, destroyed Enies Lobby, and was superior to every single guard in Impel Down except the warden Magellan. Of course Sai is strong, but imagine pre-timeskip Luffy VS Sai. Do you think Sai would have won?
I know haki messed things up, but Luffy was already very strong and Lucci was on par with him
-
It always intrigued me how Mjosgard acceded to sign that letter, I figured he must've undergone an evolution such as this. What a chapter, this'll be an arc to remember.
-
ccould it be that Orlumbus's king is at the reverie ?
-
I just remembered that, in all this chaos, the revolutionary army is about to make their move. Has to be the worst day ever for Sakazuki.
-
Lucci was exactly as strong as Luffy was before timeskip, I don't see any reason why he couldn't have grown just similarly in the past 2 years.
If he is currently at least as strong as Doflamingo (something that seems like a proper level for him to end at), him being the head of the CP-0 would make sense… I mean, it's not like we are expecting the CP-0 to be filled with Katakuris. Also, what BM wants apart from luffy's head is surely the cloud homie?? Forgot his name.
It could be Zeus, but it could also be the copy Brook made of the Road Poneglyph. Brulee knows about that copy, so it would make sense for BM to be aware of it by now - and to not want to give details of what it is to Kaido.
I like how Kizaru and Sakazuki feel they only need to send Kizaru to Wano to keep things in check. Obviously they are apprehensive because they don't know what the fuck is going on in Wano, but I like that Oda is still portraying the Admirals as very strong people who can take on the Emperors. I feel like a lot of fans have been downplaying the Admirals recently, and saying they are weaker than the Emperors. If anything, I feel they are somewhat equal.
I don't want to enter a power level discussion, but no. If the Marines had one soldier as strong as a Yonkou, they would have already took their full force + Shichibukai to take them down (the Yonkou are not allies, they are enemies of each other. If the WG went after one of them the others wouldn't try to help). And to suggest an Admiral is as strong as an Emperor is saying the Marines have at least 5 soldiers as strong as an Emperor.
-
Something we don't have any evidence for tempered with something else that we have no evidence for
Sweet
well , Sai is at least as strong as his grand-father ( chinjao) that had a good match against "new world" luffy
"new world" luffy that could easely beat a pacifista,
but Lufy before time skip that couldn't beat one Pacifista or barely not…So to me Chinjao ( and Sai that is kind same level) can beat easely a pacifita ... and then could beat Luffy before time skip too
Doesn't that make sense ?
-
@I
Taeyeon:
I kinda feel sad to what Rob Lucci's character had become. He's like what Koala used to be.. but a kill machine.. in a suit… with his pigeon.. in its own suit..
He's living the dream.
-
It just occured to me that World Government flag looks a lot like what you would see on a map if you had all the Road Poneglyphs.
-
It was Homing that chose to be exiled, not the rest of them, why would any of them care if that fool decided to give it all up…
I know, right ? Which brings us to the point that this particular World Noble could have been anyone else and really didn't need to be called DonQuixote. It only creates confusion, because that man is probably unrelated to Doflamingo and will play a completely separate part in the story. At this point it's really dropping names just for the sake of it when we could instead have learned about other CD families.
Unless Oda plans to play on the attitude the Rikus may have towards him. They have a history with Donquixotes after all. We'll see.
-
Would've loved it if Garp were there when Shirahoshi was being taken. We've seen Garp breaking rules to do what's right, but defying a Tenryuubito is an entirely different story altogether. So I'm really interested in seeing what he would've done.
Anyway. MangaStream's version is out and their translation clears up a couple of things (Jaimini's translation is a bit confusing for me this chapter). Interesting note: Mangastream translation is Locks, instead of Rocks. So I guess we'll just have to resort to Stephen to sort it out.
-
I hope this arc is not going to be the one which throws up more questions than answers. There are hell lotta info gathering up in every chapter.
-
Is BM referring to Zeus? The stuff she wants to get back.
-
On a side note, on the first read I had missed Fullbody and Jango arguing right next to Hina at the marine mess hall (are they pissed that the giant grabbed all the beer ?) It's a nice touch to still have them around, even if they don't amount to much in the overall story.
And yes, for once Mangastream's version actually felt clearer. I don't know if they're still taking liberties with the translation, but this time I'll say it helped.

rock and lock are written and pronounced exactly the same for japanese people..without context is impossible to discriminate@Sereques:

most likely
