And Luffy's gets his ass handed to him initially.
yes but that's how our boy will grow.
I need a spin off telling the Rocky Port Incident, lol.
Oda mentioning it twice means it'll probably come back somewhere down the lined and be revealed

So much for Whole Cake Island not mattering huh, lmao. Luffy is an Emperor now like….damn
HYPE
So much for Whole Cake Island not mattering huh
I don't think anyone who said that was worth listening to.
Morgans is more hyped than any of us. Do we know how many days have passed? I'm just going to assume Morgans busted his ass to facilitate Luffy's emperor status in a couple days tops lol. This is such a huge bomb Oda dropped on us, Reverie could be 20 chapters long and I wouldn't care.
Big News !!! scary how media can make lie become truth by playing with fact lmao. I agree with Blackbeard, it's too soon for Luffy to be called emperor. so, Carrot going to Wano ?!.
wouldn't take that so seriously..it's a bit like when sport newspapers calla young up and coming football player "the new messi" or "the new ibrahimovic"..it's just to signal that they have the potential to be as strong as those big players more than them being already at that level.

Alright, this is a bit out there, but I think Luffy will have a bounty of $1,500,000,000.
He defeated 2 yonko commanders (one of which is over 1 billion), ruined BM's plans, destroyed a Yonko's main base, threw her entire territory into chaos by making her rampage, and seemingly got away scot free.
All the while, his minions have been causing trouble all throughout the new world under his flag, including claiming an island from another yonko.
Luffy looks like a serious contender for the title of yonko right now.

100% props to you for getting this right! I bet that feels awesome!
You have no idea how smug I am right now.
I like all the kids of Fishmen Island with straw hats, lol.
These aftermath/intermediate chapters are always my favorite One Piece chapters to read, and this one is no different. In my eyes, Luffy became the 5th Emperor when the Straw Hat Grand Fleet was formed, so it's cool to see the newspapers refer to him as such.
HOLY HELL WHAT A CHAPTER
Also never been this early but man what a ride
We caught up with the strawhats one last time and at least two major bounty upgrades happened with luffy and sanji.
Him getting the germa suit is an interesting thing because it almost implies the germa see sanji as worth it enough to wear such a thing, we already know Sanji's stance so this might be a McGuffin to come in handy later. I'm undecided now but hoping to see where that goes.
Nice scenes with Shirahoshi and the Rikus. Cool to see Kyros come along as I never got the idea he'd go but it makes total sense.
COBY is awesome again and helmeppo took out a crew, probably made out of chumps anyway but a crew of chumps nonetheless.
Also him admiring luffy and being able to tell how strong kyros was, was great.
People underestimate Kyros (with 1 leg he had a relatively easy time with Diamante and with 2 legs I could see him being a Yonko Commander in terms of strength.)
Also Rebecca x Coby is the working man's Barto x Robin and also more realistic lol.
A page of nothing but emperor's reactions is just great. Unprecedented and goes to show how far luffy is moving on up.
1.5 billion last page I knew oda was teasing us but when brook went along I was confused
Glad to see I'm not the only one who picked up on the rocky port incident, I'm pretty sure Coby is a fair bit strongere than aby average captain but if he was there when law was I have a big feeling we will go back to that more in the future, and perhaps see a flashback.
I was waiting for the panel "as expected of my grand son."
Oh, well. Awesome chapter!
I T H A P P E N E D
Amazing chapter! Seeing Luffy grow so much as a pirate just feeIs great! I hope we get to see increases for Nami and Brook too, also can't forget about Carrot, she'll probably get a bounty as well.
Somehow the Coby-drooling-over-Luffy-News looked alot like Greg. Dunno, that was the first thing sprung to my mind :p
Great chapter. Always nice to have this change of pace and I wasn't expecting most of these developments at all.
Sanji not throwing his Raid Suit into the ocean makes it pretty likely that we'll see it again. I still don't think Sanji will ever accept this as a natural powerup to don; I think he will only put it on if one of his crewmates is in danger and it is his only option to save them. If that happens, I'd expect it to make Sanji sick and spur him to get stronger in some other way. But we'll see I guess.
And yeah, was not expecting Luffy to be named as one of the Yonko (now Goko?) at this point at all. Like, I get why it happened, but given what's happened with the group before it's easy to be surprised that Luffy was granted the title despite not being quite as advanced and well-rounded abilities-wise as the other Yonko are. The word of the press and the government is quite tricky indeed. And it does make Luffy's upcoming confrontations interesting. Big Mom's reaction was hilarious, and I'm sure Kaido's not any more convinced that the guy is any match for him. Usually Luffy has to prove himself before getting recognized, but now he has something to live up to. Neat.
Seeing Koby (don't you love it when early Viz ends up getting the spellings right?) was great as well. If the Rocky Port Incident translated so well for Law in Punk Hazard, I'm excited to see Koby showing off his capabilities (at least, hopefully!)
I love how Oda always shows Croc. God, I hope he makes a comeback.
It's really a nice surprise to get a chapter this week. Watching Avengers: Infinity War and getting a new OP chapter 1-2 punch combo gonna knock me out.
This is literally the best fucking chapter since the timeskip I aint even fronting
this is it. this right here is it. the juicy shit. goddamn. I have a lot to process.
also,it's the first timesince the start of the manga (i think) that luffy has the highest known bounty in the series…let's see how much it resists.

Directly after Arlong, I think.
anyone notice barto orgasaming?
1.5 Billion is a lot of responsibility, Luffy needs to level up that CoO ASAP. As far as am concern , Luffy's Haki(all 3 of them) is still lacking for a 1.5Billion pirate.
Read the chapter again and have some more thoughts.
One Piece fans are an easy lay for chapters like this, but they are enjoyable.
I'm sure the OP wiki has already made Luffy a yonkou eye roll
Good to see Coby and Helmeppo back, who still remains the series mvp for biggest character transformation and turn around.
That little bit with Coby and Rebecca was cute, hope that goes somewhere.
Our usual montage of reactions never disappoints.
I'm sure the OP wiki has already made Luffy a yonkou eye roll
Can't get any more official of a confirmation than narration boxes and a chapter title.

Aside from Morgans clearly rooting for the worst generation, we can see that barto and Cavendish are being interviewed so obviously they will hype their own boss (especially barto). That really help luffy with his reputation and bounty increase.
Btw, this means that the break is 'moved' to next week right?

The like button is in your heart, my friend.
Sanji raid suit… I actually like the development. As uncomfortable as the Germa are, Sanji's sort of passive hatred of them is played off as more comedic than anything. I do like the symbolic gesture of the raid suit and it ensures that we'll be seeing them again (and possibly live to see Judge change a bit as a person). The Vinsmokes remain the worst part of the last arc, but I appreciate what little exploration we got of them this chapter.
I love any New World chapter that slows its pace a little bit and just lets the characters bounce personalities around on the ship like the old days. This chapter is one of my favorites in the New World alongside the Road Poneglyph reveal. I love any New World chapter that seems to be setting up the end of the series. I've spent almost half my life reading this series and this kind of shit makes me unbelievably hyped.
Awesome seeing Coby again too, and interacting with these other characters from past arcs. I love the way Reverie is shaping up already.
honestly my whole head is full of fuck. I have a lot to process after this chapter.
Say what you will about any particular story arc, but Oda's between-arc transition chapters are solid as all hell.
Of mixed feelings about Sanji getting a raid suit, but I'm gradually coming around to the idea… Not so much for Sanji's benefit, because I still don't think he'll want to use it and have a hard time seeing how it'll advance his skill set, but rather as a piece of new tech that Usopp and Franky can work their magic on and possibly come up with some new gadgets and upgrades for their weaponry.
Obviously, Judge has developed some measure of respect for his wayward son, even if he can't bring himself to admit it, as evidenced by his parting words and Niji hiding the raid suit in Luffy's pocket for them to find later. I'm increasingly of the opinion that the Vinsmokes will be back at some point down the line, especially since the WG has more or less permanently attached the family name to Sanji via his wanted poster now. Pretty sure their attempted alliance with Big Mom and their actual, if temporary, alliance with the Strawhats has torpedoed any political sway the Germa had with the World Government - probably why Sanji's wanted poster says "Dead or Alive" now - so they're in the thick of the coming chaos whether they managed to make it out of Totland intact or not. Plus, I think some of the hints regarding the Vinsmoke family's "legacy" originally being more in line with their mother's views than Judges's, to say nothing of the curious detail that the marine hero from the comic strip shares the same name as her, leaves some room for Sanji to become more accepting of his heritage at some point in the future, without necessarily accepting his father in the process. Perhaps Judge actually married into the family, or he and Sora were the heirs of two disparate branches of the family who married to reunite their noble line? Kind of drifting into Game of Thrones house politics territory, but I can see some interesting developments to be found there...
Glad to finally get confirmation that Zeus has officially been abducted/coerced/bribed into joining the team. He seems to have come to terms with his new role as Nami's underling rather quickly. Surprised Zeus can actually be kept inside the Climatact, but as that enables Nami to keep him around while also being discreet about it (as opposed to having a giant, sentient thundercloud floating behind her everywhere she goes), that's probably a good thing. Plus, he seems to enjoy it.
Brook: "Sanji-san, you're competing with water vapor..." XD
New bounties is expected, but nice nonetheless. Sanji finally one-ups Zoro, though probably not for long. For those griping about how Sanji hasn't done anything to deserve it, I would first disagree on the grounds that his bounty's been substantially under-representing his skills for quite a while now (his Mr. Prince tendencies cause a lot of his actions to get overlooked, plus I think there were suggestions that Judge was applying pressure to keep his bounty low) and second, he actually did a fair amount in Totland. Whether you think the cake thing was really worth it or not (though again, I'll point out BM was literally tearing the Sunny apart mere moments before its arrival), Sanji played a central role in the assassination attempt, saved the entire Vinsmoke family from right under BM's nose at the wedding, and threw an attack against BM herself (though I think Zeus actually tanked it) alongside Luffy - all of this before the eyes of Morgans and Stussy, who seem to be the primary sources that got the word out - and then proceeded to escape from the heart of a Yonkou's territory with comparatively few losses. Plus, if Judge is on the outs with the WG now, being a Vinsmoke isn't a mark in Sanji's favor anymore, and in fact may well be the opposite.
Of course, the real news is Luffy's new bounty. Miscounting the number of zeroes then getting depressed because his bounty "went down" is very Luffy-esque. Whether he's really Fifth Emperor material quite yet is debatable, but I'd say Morgans did a very good job of detailing just how big a deal what the Strawhats just managed to do truly is in the eyes of the world (and of course, the media doesn't know about Zeus or the Poneglyph rubbings, yet). Some embellishment and mistaken facts, to be sure (ringleader and mastermind behind the assassination plot? Luffy!?), but overall a fairly solid case for a 1.5 billion belly bounty, I'd say.
Glad to see a lot of familiar faces. Shirahoshi being brave and deciding to join in on the trip to Reverie was expected, but appreciated. And I cannot express how happy I am to see Crocodile, however briefly. Looks like he might have set up Baroque Works 2.0, or at the very least is hanging out in a classy hotel.
And good lord, it's great to see Koby again, being a badass Marine Captain. We really need to find out more about this Rocky Port Incident, because it's sounding like Koby made a name for himself there. Also wasn't Law said to be involved? Need to look it up...
And once again, Oda trolls us by refusing to let us see post-TS Blackbeard...
Overall, an excellent chapter in my opinion. I really love this kind of world-building stuff, which is why the Reverie arc has me all kinds of hyped. Looking forward to a nice, meaty chunk of political intrigue to enjoy over the summer...
Somewhere out there, Sengoku is in stitches with laughter, repeating "not MY problem anymore!"
Thumbs Up
Damn good chapter, nice to see Crocodile, Koby, and even the Weevil cameo again. Reverie could very well see a lot of defections to Emperor Luffy. Hyped for Reverie, then we get to see Carrot, Jinbe, and the Swirly Hat's new bounties! I assume the Dressrosa side of the crew didn't have their bounties go up.
I love how everyone in Fishman Island is wearing a straw hat.
Also something someone pointed out on a but we get to see the thousand sunny's first face fault.
Kind of hard to see but its eyes extend too, I know some of yoh were saying the merry had more personality because of the facefaults and stuff, so I feel this is a good start
For a while I've been saying it would make more sense to go with the translated 'Emperors' instead of 'Yonko,' and with the awkwardness that transitioning to Goko after this chapter would be, I feel validated
That said this was a fantastic chapter all the way through. The Reverie is hype, everything to do with bounties and media attention was hilarious. I loved the Elizebello's ship, like his castle, is shaped like him. Great to see Coby again also. I wonder what the implications of him having been at the Rocky Port Incident will be, should he ever cross paths with Law. And Chopper must be kicking himself over not finding a reason to go monster point at the wedding and get some real exposure, the poor guy. Wonder if we'll get a chance next week to see what Bege thinks of Luffy being labelled the mastermind, or what the Zou team think of the new developments.
Sanji fans are gonna be mad when zoro skyrockets in the next arc or his bounties has already surpassed sanji and we just haven't been updated. Not that i care where the ssnji/zoro comparison is at. So glad sanji got this raid suit, oda clearly been showing us he needs it. Glad they are regarding luffy the fifth yonkou it ramps things up like it should. Cobyxrebecca is a cool ship hes a cool duty bound dude like her dad, and hes a legitimate hero. I'm so glad to see a glance of my favorite croc
On the gerna front I think they will find strength in the fact that people associate them with luffy, I think people got caught up in how oda depicted them so much thinking they were so deplorable. They were always 100% redeemable cause sanjiv blood, at this late stage with all their hype their was no way they wouldn't be an overall profit for luffy sanji and crew
@Long:

Nice catch! Yeah, it’s cool to see the Sunny “react” so to speak to the news.
Broke down the chapter in an analysis if anyone's interested: https://thelibraryofohara.com/2018/04/28/chapter-secrets-chapter-903/
Lots of many small details here. You can see a blurry portrait of Vegapunk, we get to see Sanji's two eyes for the first time at once, Coby saved people from Law at the Rocky Port Incident, Weevil is on the newspaper, kids wearing straw hats, Crocodile has new subordinates… this chapter is just filled with surprises
I wonder if Germa might end up getting what they wanted from Big Mom after all, only it'll be through Luffy instead. (Reputation of an emperor?)
I was thinking about this Reid Suit stuff and I think that it will be a power up to Usopp as many have suggested. If we take into account that that Reid Suit is probably yellow, considering the pattern of the Vinsmoke siblings and their hair colors, this color is completely unrelated to Sanji in terms of character design, even without considering that Sanji's trademark is his suit. On the other hand, Usopp is constantly wearing yellow and that's his "official color" according to Oda in a SBS.
In my opinion, I believe the Reid Suit is very appropriate to Usopp's style overall and it will be an important power up for him to keep up against his enemies in a more versatile manner than his current condition, that is too dependent on pop greens and sniping.
Going a little further to another topic, I believe both Sanji and Zoro will have a personal goal in Wano regarding their public reputation. Sanji's goal will be to get awareness to the fact that his best features are associated to the nickname Black Leg (derivating from Zeff's nickname Red Leg, his real father) in order to erase the last name Vismoke from his wanted poster (his biological father name), so he's not using the Reid Suit. Meanwhile, Zoro will have this hilarious goals to become once again the second most respected Strawhat crew member and try to get a better bounty than Sanji for obvious reasons.
Well, Luffy has a 1.5 billion bounty? Ostensibly, that puts the other Emperor bounties within a similar range, which makes sense I suppose. Nami keeping Zeus was an expected but not unwelcome surprise, and I rather enjoyed the world reacting to Luffy's exploits. The one development I don't care for is Sanji now having a raid suit.
! Going forward, should Sanji use the suit I see that as an open acknowledgment that Judge was at least half-right. Having the raid suit shows that the Vinsmoke family finally accepted Sanji as one of their own, and yeah that's true, but I can't help but shake the feeling that all of Oda's buildup about family not being about blood but a unifying ideal kinda falls a little flat if that's the case.
! Of course, the preceding is contingent upon Sanji USING the raid suit, which he may never do. It's possible Oda is planning on bringing the Vinsmokes back and having a lovely family reunion where all the colorful children don their raid suits followed by a bombastic DON and a two-page spread. Ignoring the backstory that scenario sounds all well and good, but I can't help feeling somewhat cheated by it. Sanji deserves to be his own man outside of his Father's ambitions, and donning the suit would spit in the face of Sanji's own strength; just as him suddenly awakening his Vinsmoke genetic power would.
! Ultimately, I am taking issue with an event that has yet to occur, and I should wait to see how this plays out before making any sweeping condemnations. It could be that Sanji himself will need to come to terms with his ancestry just as Judge needed to come to terms with Sanji being his son. Eh, I'm just going to have to let this develop to see where it goes.
All-in-all, an enjoyable chapter and one that has me geared up for the Reverie.

@Mr.:
Well, Luffy has a 1.5 billion bounty? Ostensibly, that puts the other Emperor bounties within a similar range,
No way is 1.5 billion a normal yonko bounty. Luffy needs room to grow when he does more stuff in the future. He's still an upstart that's just now starting to build his empire while the others have been around for years. Jack has two other people higher ranked than he is in Kaido's crew and he's at 1 billion, so I'd put King at around 1.5 billion (and that's probably the highest of all yonko commander bounties).
The yonko's bounties probably range from 3 billion (Shanks, who just parties all day) to 6 billion (Kaido, who's a maniac). And Dragon probably has an 8 billion bounty (being the most wanted man in the world), leaving the 10 billion slot for when Luffy becomes the pirate king.
That… a lot of Zeros O.o
(That's all I got for now lol)
Good chapter. But I wanted to see Lola's reaction too.

I really doubt any Commander have equal/higher bounties than Luffy. This 1,5 billion is contextualized in the same public hype as 5th Emperor, something too special.

Hey that was actually a really good and insighful anaylsis. Normally I would have subjected myself to listening to the One Piece podcast to get those insights. So thanks and please post more.
I think more people should check it out. Maybe post some of the points here?
