It's honestly a little too early to tell, but the Minks have a very deep connection with the full moon, which implies that they may have some sort special lineage that's been shackled for some reason. But essentially, Chopper can be considered mink-like.
Besides Masira and the other monkey guy the only Minks (Space ones) we saw way back in skypeia were space pirates. I think its safe to assume minks are a space race like skypeians.

Neither can Luffy, Robin or Brook. Jimbei joining the crew vastly decreases that handicap since he can rescue all of them in an instant with his Fishman skills. He'll be much more effective at it than just about anyone else.

weevil has the strength of WB in his Young days, as in he is up there with luffy and bb, no way one of luffy-s underlings takes him on.
the unknown nakama of bb could even be a girl, and they need it since it-s too much of sausage fest in there.

It took me reading the chapter 2 times, then switching back and forth from page 6 to page 13 to realize that in her transformed state that Carrot got a neck ruffle/collar of fur. … and here I've been hatin' on Chopper's furry collar he grows only when he's in heavy point after the timeskip. Now it doesn't seem to be so freaking odd.

I'm more curious about how Oda is going to put his own twist on it when it's explained. I know it's kind of farfetched, but I can't stop myself from relating the "dawn" to the Minks full moon forms, kind of a shackled ability. ya know?

I'm hoping for a gag where Pekom's transformation is super ugly lol especially since he's already a lion. Perhaps that's why he wears glasses, to avoid transforming during a full moon.

Ya little bit. Wouldn't mind seeing her chewing on Luffy for the rest of their adventures. This was a moment for her to shine, and for me, she did. It's not like I'm emotionally attached to her yet, just I can see her getting to the point of eventually joining the SH crew and it feeling as satisfying.

There is plenty of time for her to develop anyways, she's actually slightly more enjoyable than some of the more recent side characters, well for me anyways. Still want my kunoichi….

I am not comparing the exact appearance of the neck ruffs to each other (as in 'Chopper's is stiff and looks like a Tudor ruffle while Carrots is soft and flowing and reminds me of a neck scarf')It was the 'characters whose neck fur is normally same length as rest of body fur transforms and suddenly fur on neck grows out like a ruff while rest of body fur does not grow' that I found similar. and saying I an not so wierded out by Chopper's neck ruff as I had been.

Just another manic Monday. Not many major differences in translations this week.
- The comments/descriptions for the cover story seem to imply slightly different things in each version; Mangastream says "I've decided to become a pirate", Jaimini's Box is "We started a pirate crew", and VIZ's version is "I guess we're pirates now."
- Katakuri's first words to Luffy in MS ("Come now, don't let our reunion be such a violent one.") are also pretty different from both the JB version ("You've been acting quite erratic since you got back here.") and VIZ ("So you're back, and feistier than ever.")
- In the panel where Nami redirects the cannonballs, MS has both bubbles there written as though she's speaking (and the two together say "My bad! The Straw Hats ran that way!"). JB and VIZ both correctly have the first bubble spoken by the cannonballs themselves, in which they politely ask Nami where the Straw Hats are, and the second bubble is her redirecting them.
- MS has one of the siblings ask Perospero over the transponder snails why he called them out there after one little rat; in both JB and VIZ, they instead ask him why it's taking him so long to eliminate one little mouse/rat. Perospero then responds in MS that he's "tired of you lot and your role-playing games!", in JB he responds "You guys are so dramatic!", and in VIZ goes with "You just had to make a scene for your big entrance!"
- The scanlations of the chapter originally referred to Carrot's transformation as Suron/Ceylon; however, now all three versions say "Sulong".

My prediction is she'll have such a reaction to the deliciousness, it'll trigger a massive discharge of all the soul energy she's accumulated and it will create a chain reaction that will devastate any of her forces that are attempting to halt the Straw Hats' escape, making a clean getaway for them and the other non-Big Mom crews.

Couldn't Chopper be considered a Mink though? Minks are just sentient animal humanoids. Unless genetically there is something else special about them, couldn't we argue Chopper eating the DF transformed him from animal to Mink?

Well normally the genetic differences would prohibit successful breeding, but given how weird the OP universe is, the answer is 'not a clue'.
Come to think of it, Minks would have to interbreed between their species because otherwise they'd run out of options other than rampant inbreeding. Actually, unless they ARE breeding outside of just Zou, that'll inevitably happen anyway…

Minks can only be mammals right? We haven't seen a snake mink or a bird mink or an amphibian mink, I think. It'd be interesting if there were a species of human-animal hybrid for every category. Fishmen are fish (and invertebrates -.-), Minks are mammals… I want an Arachnoids island, and a reptilian island. Yes I do.

But we've also seen Fishmen breed with other species like humans and giants so they at least have an out if there are no settlements of theirs outside of Fishman Island. Zou's population has to be very limited living all in one place so unless they can do the same and the offspring are pretty much almost entirely Mink regardless of the other parent, then depending on how long they've existed, they may have already been severely inbred for generations.

well, I asked this question somewhere before, because there have been a couple frog people on whole cake island. But it is hard to answer if it is an entire race or just homies.
Now Big News Morgans is definitely a birdperson and not a homie. So there you have it, there are at least Fishmen, Minks and Birdpersons. Amphipeople are as of yet possible but due to the nature of Wholecake island it's hard to tell what they are.
