Actual chapter 17:58OMG!!! Oda has an amazing pace!!! Unique in One Piece.
Katakuri is just relentlessly outstanding, Brûlée is like her mother, it just lets men to pick her like a night lady… and that's the chapter, Sanji trying to make a cake to himself to celebrate his year is so pitiful, that i only expects the conclusion of it to let Lin Lin keep wrecking havoc.

Funny to see Luffy simply bail out of the fight, and that Katakuri aided him in reminding him that he was about to reach his end. Of course, Luffy flat out tells him he has a 10 minute time limit. Not really sure why he did that other than being an idiot.
Katakuri is hype again because he even claims he is "invincible" when calm. Not disproven in this chapter, though Luffy may or may not come up with a way. I mean, Katakuri is trapped in Mirro-world so Luffy doesn't even have to defeat him as long as he has Brulee though I imagine he will fight him once the limit up
Also, Luffy seems to be handling his 10 min wait period well enough–he has only lost his haki and is not that much weaker otherwise. Though the madness that is Nut Island is clearly too much for him.
Now Sanji is about to leave the kitchen. Does that mean he's going to take care of Oven? Or will they be able to bluff their way past to the ship? At any rate, it seems that Sanji will be on the move from here on out and should at least see some action while defending/delivering the cake to Mom
Lastly, it seems we will finally see Smoothie in true action, either against the SHs or the Firetank crew. Seems more like they will encounter the Sunny based on how the two-page spread is laid out.

That's definitely what Sanji intends. But knowing anything about this arc, I'd be highly surprised if everything went exactly according to plan.

All these chapters in the past few weeks were pretty good.
I loved the Luffy vs Katakuri fight.
And I am not disappointed that Luffy couldn't beat Katakuri in a fair fight.
This arc was great for me, I only need a bit more from Smoothie, the only Sweet Commander who didn't get enought action in this arc. -
Luffy's definitely not done with Katakuri. But if he were any less honorable, he would realize that he could assassinate Brulee and leave the billion berry mochi man trapped in a pocket dimension. It would be funny if Big Mom did that.

Pretty damn meh chapter. It is kind of a thing for battle shounen in general, but the dialogue between Katakuri and Luffy this chapter was really terrible, and Luffy fighting Peros, Amande and BM during a break from fighting Katakuri, all of this while Sunny-crew is doing nothing is a prime example of Luffy-centrism that has been irking me for a while. And while I was all for cake ending some time ago, I don't think it mashes well with the urgent escape, pacing required for both just does not match.

Sanji just needs to cream in Big Mom's mouth or other orifice and make her pass out from pleasure.

The chapter was hilarious. Really enjoyable.
I really like where Oda is taking this cover story.
That spin Luffy did to avoid Katakuri's second punch was really smooth. I can imagine Luffy going in and out of the mirror world, but Katakuri is going down in public. Even though Luffy is avoiding Katakuri right now, it is not like he is free from danger. Fun times.
Perospero is awakened as well right?
The setup is great for them to escape. Not in neutral terms, much less as allies. Luffy knocks out Katakuri in public and they escape the blockade.
That chef losing it just by trying the cream. Once they combine all the flavors, Big Mom will have an epiphany.

That being said, Where might Ceasar be? We've seen the firetanks, the germa kingdom, the sun pirates and Pound but Ganster Gastino went off his own way and he has dissappeared into nothingness.
I'm glad to see compote, who knows if she has a devil fruit and what it might do. On the other hand I truly don't care that much about smoothie though, I believe she has been downplayed cause her df might be in Robins realm, a DF that might end a fight in an instant if the opponent is not careful.

Pretty sure he can, going off of his fight against Doflamingo. He likely just got very absorbed regarding this fight, and nearly forgot. More importantly, the whole point of it was to create a convincing enough scenario where Luffy is able to escape from a guy that can see the future. Oda having Katakuri accidentally remind him through his CoO ability is a pretty clever way of allowing Luffy to have a headstart in terms of escaping.

Good chapter, and glad to see Luffy take the clever option and leave the mochi man trapped in the mirror dimension. I'd actually called that one a couple weeks ago
I hope he isn't done with him and their face-to-face gets a proper conclusion later on, but hey at least Luffy landed in the middle of action and it's a clever way of showing what's up on Nuts island. Also he isn't completely defenseless after Gear 4, which is certainly an improvement over Dressrosa.I feel we may get a gigantic battle at sea in the coming chapters - just think of everyone who's set sail or is about to - the full Charlotte fleet, Germa, Firetanks, Sun pirates, Sunny team, Sanji's tea… Plus god knows who else will stealthily enter Big Mom's territory now that their surveillance network is down and their full tart defense busy with catching the runaways...

Eh, really isn't that big of a deal. If anything, this justifies why Oda had Big Mom suddenly go to Nuts Island all of a sudden. I'm sure many of us were under the assumption that he did that just to have her out of the way for awhile, but as we see with this chapter, he intended on having Luffy unexpectedly run into her.

I didn't expect Luffy to get away like that. I was hoping for it to drag out a bit more. Now that he's on the run again, I just hope he fully runs away so he and crew can all reflect and grow from it. Interested in seeing how delicious the cake is. I guess Luffy will get cover and somehow run into Katakuri again fully charged, even though I'd prefer he get away, but I'm sure Oda plans for them to meet up again. Nice chapter, I feel satisfied so far.

I don't think Luffy would have called it a convenience. This is probably the worst case scenario for him, lol, he wanted to get away from his opponent for 10 minutes and now he has three people on his tail and he can't use Haki.
Statistics don't really work like that in fiction. Just because you're statistically more likely to land somewhere that isn't plot-relevant doesn't mean the character should go there because…come on, it isn't plot relevant. Do you know any work of fiction where the protagonists just get into mundane situations because it was more likely than events occurring that together lead to something interesting? I mean, sure, it's not so good when the heroes randomly happen upon something that solves their problems. But, as I said before, that's pretty much the opposite of what's happening to Luffy.

He probably feels no need or desire to. Also, he probably needs to use her again. Due to that, there can be more opportunity for comedy with Brulee. I can accept that.
