For anyone out of the loop the One Piece anime, along with all of Toei's other currently-airing shows (Dragon Quest, Digimon Ghost Game, and Pretty Cure), has been on an unexpected hiatus for the past month and a half thanks to Toei getting hit by a cyberattack (ransomware according to NHK; especially nasty). Obviously this set back a lot of things production-wise while the situation was being resolved, but we're back now and about to hit a major part of the story that should be full of spectacle!

It wasn't the most hype episode to come back to, nor the best looking, but it's nice to finally have the Saturday night ritual back again, and 1015 finally airs at long last next week. Ishitani directing with Masami Mori taking on an AD role; it's looking to be white-hot.

Oh, I also noticed Eisaku Inoue in the key animation list again. I wonder if that credit's there because they reused some footage from one of his previous Wano episodes (Ace flashback with Tama), or if he's doing better and is actively working on the show again (he was hospitalized last year due to an aortic dissection for the unaware).

Really love the short cut of Yamato jumping and saying goodbye to Ace. Really gorgeous animation for a second there; it moved a ton.

Basically, Whitebeard didn't want to risk many of the innocent civilian lives at Wano, combined with Oden already being dead. As much as he could have helped out, Wano definitely isn't the same as Marineford, so I don't blame him for thinking the destruction that would be caused from him fighting over there would have endangered others in the process.
