Getting good! Naive as it is, I hope Green Keeper and D remain on good terms after this. Guess it depends on how much Red will screw things over.
On another note, discovered the volumes have been translated and are available where I live. Soon as work is done tomorrow I'm racing to buy these.

I'm...confused, to say the less. Is monsters vs Red Second happening while everyone's busy searching the zoo ? And who are these rangers lying on the ground, I could've sworn we didn't see them at the beginning.
I love this series, but more often than not information is scarce and ambiguous to the point it takes me a couple reads to get facts straight.
And even then you can still be deceived because there are apparently double agents in the mix. -
@Seafarer33 Red Battalion was already searching the premise, given how Red Keeper is, he probably meant that they were doing "search & destroy".
But I agree, Negi uses non linear storytelling to create ambiguity, once the main mystery of this series is not a clear cut detective work within defined suspects like in Quintuplets.

It's definitely confusing at times. I had to re-read the first half of the manga to get a hang of what was going on. It's better now that most factions feel established and we have a set character cast, the first few arcs felt like a wild west in terms of plot and D's motivation.
As for this chapter, I appreciate that Red Keeper isn't left gathering dust until the story is almost over. I dig having this weird relation where we as readers know Red's an asshole and D wants to kill him, but in-story they're both putting on a facade and trying to get along as co-workers. "Those poor giraffes" hah.
D better get to see a real animal after this is over.

I have no idea what's going on anymore. But Red Keeper, if that's really him has been acting sus these past few chapters.

@Ivotas one aspect of it is that he previously lost his Divine Tool to D and didn't tell the other rangers. As a result, I assume he doesn't have magical super-sentai dress-up anymore, which allowed D to very litterally catch him with his pants down.
There could be more to it, though; this series really is one where I keep missing details on the first read.
However, based on what we've seen from the rangers previously, removing the suit shouldn't make Red any less of a formidable fighter. Maybe this is just the payoff of D's training with Green?

That's a fair enough point. But I don't know if that's it what thorws me off. The last chapter he also seemed a little bit off about him.That aside, I have honestly no idea what's going on now. Did Usokubo just leave in the middle of an actual mission to join that meeting?

I think the meeting is happening after the events at the zoo. But it's played alongside to showcase the three pieces in collision course. But yes, she probably ditched it earlier. We also don't see Husui when they are watching the executive on TV.

This chapter showcases the strengths and weaknesses of the manga pretty well. Not always good at conveying what's going on but great twists and interesting character/faction relations.
Really loved the chapter, even with some of the confusing bits. I love how it built up the somewhat predictable twist with Usukubo, set up this whole overarching conflict and then immediately one-upping all of it with D's action.
I wasn't too keen on the invader lover faction before, can't nail it down but I guess they felt too snobby? In a "why should I sympathize with you over the rangers and D" kind of way. But if D's actions wind up screwing them over that makes them a lot more likeable. Definitely something I want to investigate further why it made me feel that way.

One thing I'm fuzzy about: right before disappearing, didn't Usukubo have a face-to-face with Suzukiri who was then posing as Green's attacker?

I repeat what I said last week, Red is sus AF. Even if we leave aside the fact that he is the closest to a main antagonist this series has had, there are other things in this arc that have the potential to raise an eyebrow.
For one there's the "Red thinks that either you or Usokubo are a traitor" line. It's easy for us readers with our meta perspective to be thrown off by that line as we'd immediately thing "Dang, Red's on to D". But if we take meta perspective out of the equation what really is going on for Red to go that direction? We've seen him kill his subordinates and talk stuff about the final boss but nothing that would indicate he is suspicious of Green Battalion.
Not to mention that this entire final boss thing somehow conveniently overlays with new monsters popping up. Monsters that might be actual humans if Usokubo's reaction after seeing that watch is to be considered. Not to mention that Red seems too laid back about jumping into action to actually fight those things. Even with the "I neex to dress up first" thing, he's far too relaxed and doesn't seem to hurry to jump into action at all. That's very unlike him. He is sus. The question is if that@ the real him or not. And if he is, does he have his own agenda or is he actually controlled by the new executive.
If that executive is not involved in whatever is going with Red right, she sure as hell is involved with the new group. That one is a given at least.

Ooh right. One chapter they kill red and then proceed to not adress it for a while, that's how I'm getting confused (also because I've always had trouble differentiating the keepers. Green and pink are easy, but for the rest you gotta memorize helmet patterns

Yellow always has a shit eating grim. That leaves Blue and Red. But for the other rangers...yeah it sucks to differentiate. Glad there's an anime coming.

So... guess some madman saw the show and decided it'd be a splendid idea to turn it into reality. Probably Red or Yellow (the latter certainly seems to have the capability).
I know D is angry, but I got the feeling the fortress invaders might take a liking to new Blue. Meanwhile D is flipping like a flip book between what side to pick.

Ouch. Things did go south for Hisui, I don't dare to hope she's alright... This story has so many plots pulling for my attention, I don't know where to look anymore. Origin of the invaders, first-generation keepers, Red's mysterious durability, the IRA-Keeper struggle. Keep them coming!

Man this is a really interesting development. I feel really bad for D now, and I wonder what Sakurama thinks of all this. I wonder if we'll see him soon.
