I liked the first five minutes or so, got shivers when Uta started singing and the feeling of watching OP on the big screen hit me. Got bored half-way through that first song and all went downhill from that point. Only other moment I enjoyed were the final Uta/Luffy/Shanks scenes.
Definitely a step-up from Stampede, but still terrible to my taste. If it wasn't OP, I would probably have left after 20 minutes, but I would feel bad doing it with this franchise.
The worst parts were definitely the action scenes, I couldn't understand what was going on half the time, it was like someone tied a camera to a moving swing and I had to make sense out of what it recorded. But all the other scenes also seemed to have a pacing problem, there was not really time for anything to breathe - neither drama, humor, nothing. I am really curious if kids are able to follow this movie, maybe that's the rhythm they are used to and I am just old and disconnected?
Anyways, I won't keep going because I don't to rain on anyone's parade, so I will end with a positive note: I really appreciate the screen time given to Brulee.
