Is Oni /Ogre a new race?
Kaido and Yamato,as stated in the manga are Oni
Are they the only ones?or there are more out there?

We should at least wonder if some horned characters are not Oni, like Moria (who curiously fought against Kaido in the past). That said, it's likely that Kaido and Yamato are the only named characters who are Oni, even if they're not the only ones in the world.

We know Big Mom has three races that don’t live in her territory, one was said to be Giants, the other was Kings race the Lunarians, we don’t know what the third race is but so far she’s said absolutely nothing about wanting Kaido or Yamato to be part of her dream to have all races in harmony
I don’t know if that means there not considered a race, or what it means just thought I’d say it
If Oni’s aren’t the last race I wonder what is?

I happened to ask in another thread if Magellan was a part of the one race.
Same for Hannyabal I guess.

I can tink of two possiblities:
1. "Oni" aren't considered a race, it's just a fancy term for Ancient Giant decendants.
Just like 30% of the population have neanderthal genes, but we're not calling them neanderthals or 2%-neanderthals. Likewise, Kaido doesn't call himself a 10% Ancient Giant.
They are Oni.This would explain why Big Mom doesn't make a big deal out of it. She doesn't have giants, period - and she wants them. The real deal, not the "Oni" with a few % Ancient Giant content.
2. Kaido and the Beast Pirates with real horns are artificial, a mix between Ancient Giants and Humans. Which would also explain why Big Mom has little interest in them, they would be just genetically altered humans after all. They don't count for her Races-of-the-World sticker book.

So you can't think of a possibility where onis are a race and not related to the ancient giants?
I mean what if it's the other way around and ancient giants are really just giant onis?
I mean I dont see a lot of ppl suggesting Birkans, Shandorans, and Skypeians are just watered down Lunarians.

I guess that's possible, but the horned people are practically humans, while the Ancient Giants are much more aberant (going with Oars Junior here, since the Numbers are unreliable subjects).
The Ancient Giants mating with regular giants (or even oversized humans) seems more likely to me than horned humans evolving into those dumb Ancient Giants.As for the Oni race being a unique thing, well I guess that's also possible, but one would think Big Mom would have addressed that in the past 100 or so chapters where she interacted with the Beast Pirates.

It'd be more like onis mating with giants, creating what is called ancient giants. Not he evolution of horned humans.

Was the word oni only mentioned in the Friday scan of that chapter? My memory is of it being mentioned in the Friday scans but not the Sunday official chapter, but I could be remembering wrong.

The official translation is Ogre. It's still referring to the same race regardless of the choice of name.

Oh, okay. I remembered wrong. I thought the official translation didn't use the word oni and also didn't replace with any other word.
Now I'm imagining Kaido meeting Shrek.
