One Piece Episode 994 Preview

Man, another dragged out episode. The pace of the these last few episodes feels veerrry slow. I'm hoping there's a payoff for this once the actual fights start.

Great episode. Again, I like that the anime is expanding on stuff that happened off screen in the manga. Since the confrontation between The Akazaya samurai and Kanjuro was done really quickly, so I'm fine with the anime for expanding on this stuff. Also I'm fine with the anime expanded on the Big Mom's Yokai stuff as well.

It felt unnaturally slow and the overused of flashbacks. I was hoping we'd get to see more filler fights but i think we'll get those next episode but it doesnt look like it will be animated well but maybe im wrong. its just a preview afterall.

They’re keeping it very slow so they can save a specific scene for episode 1000.

Which scene do you think it is?

Looking forward to Yamato getting on the Sunny with Luffy and the others.

It’s the two pager where all the straw hats are together.

This was a great episode i think anime is back on track now that it has fights that were offscreened in manga to fill up time with.

Obviously this wasn't a slow episode, or I don't know how to describe #990 and #991.
Pretty good episode by Hosoda, and this was one of his best One Piece episodes for sure. And music placement was on point, which made this episode more enjoyable than it could have been. And Takagi's art was really outstanding.

Once again seeing a lot of complaints and once again I'm here thinking… the episode was fine, though? Even though the episode was mostly just two scenes, I don't think either of them dragged or went overboard with the flashbacks. At most I guess it's a bit awkward that we got two separate flashbacks to Oden's execution (though one of them was in the recap) but I didn't think the Scabbards' confrontation with Kanjuro felt in any way unreasonably slow, and the added expansions to Momonosuke running away and the Nami scene also felt pretty natural to me.
That said, the ending cliffhanger felt weak. There was a point a mere two pages later that probably would have landed a lot better, I think. Namely,! Kaido and Big Mom declaring that they're going after the One Piece.

I really appreciate getting more of Kanjuro and Kiku. Also the fact that Battle Scars continues to be played a lot, it's an absolute banger.
