• @theackwardstation:

In my opinion, it's either the Black Beard Pirates or a completely random character which we'd never guess.

I also think that they are not from Germa, there would be no reason for the mysterious shadow if they were from Germa as we all kinda expect them to save their brothers… my bet is also BB pirates as it is their best chance to get a hold of BM's Road Poneglyph, assuming that BB also wants to reach Laugh Tale.

  • @RigaCrypto:

If there are Blackbeard pirates in Chocolate town, then wouldn't they be here for Pudding and her 3-eyed ability ? I thought Big Mom's treasure vault was on a different island. Maybe some other BB group is going for the Poneglyph in parallel, though.

  • Maybe it's Pedro and Pekoms?

  • If it was Pekoms or any other from BM crew, the residents would not be so frightened, right?

Yes, that is if BB knows about Pudding at all… anyhowhow, we haven't seen/heard about Blackbeard Pirates for a while now so Oda could show us bits of their exploits in parallel to the Strawhats, as they both want the same think and I doubt BB is just sitting idle on his island and eating pie all day long.

  • Blackbeard's would make sense and be very interesting, but things tend to get pretty grim when those rascals are around and usually cover stories keep a lighter tone.

  • If they are there just to steal the Poneglyphs and/or Pudding, Oda could make light of the situation in the covers, like he did with the CP9 Independent Report.

  • One is definitely woman. The shoe is 'womanish'.

  • @Johnny:

    Maybe it's Pedro and Pekoms?

Maybe I'm underestimating how lenient the BM Pirates are, but I don't see why Pekoms would just get to roam around freely after being blinded. And he's a familiar face, so the citizens shouldn't be running from him.

  • Saw a comment about all the water and all the DF users and smiles, it got me thinking actually.

Surely the sea water flooding everywhere should negate the effects of all the Kibidango. We know for a fact that salt negated the ranged lasing effects of Moriahs zombies when they ingested it.

Oda wouldn't do this, but flooding the arena should flip all the chess pieces back to Kaido, especially when he is annoyed about the loss of his men, and it's not like he's been a dick to his men - yes I know Queen was with the virus. But really theres no reason that if they got purified from effects of kibidango they would still decide to help against him.

Also is there a time limit on the control or number of people Tama can affect. as really it's been a while since I've thought about how op she is.

  • @Krillin:

I don't think it makes sense to have Tama and Moria's fruits share the same weakness.

The zombies being weak to salt is based on spirit-purifying practices certain Shinto monks in Japan once performed.

Yeah, this would be a great opportunity to deal with that. I don't actually think it would really put things back in kaido's favor anyway. The gifters are just as exhausted as everyone else, and who's to say the rushing water won't ko a few of them anyway? It seems at worst, just an easy tool to give the people still up some people to brawl with until Luffy and Kaido finally ends.

Mind you, the island starting to fall would also probably put any fighting on hold.

The only problem is Hamlet still carrying Kiku and Kinemon. I don't think ussop could carry them himself. He could always just re-tame him if he still has ammo, or the water could flow them to the live floor or somewhere safe though.

It would definitely be better than being time based, except basically permanent cause Tama has no reason to ever stop feeding them and resetting the timer

  • No idea who it will be, but definitely not Germa.

  • I'd go with the invaders being Laffite and unknown Titan from Teach's crew, which I think is a woman.

Oh i get the old spirit purification legends of salt. But I think considering Oda has made a point of it specifically being Seawater that dampens DF users, not other bodies of water then. Its been a while since I watched any of TB so can't recall if Usopp specifically says seasalt.

But it's not just Moriah's and Tama's fruits having the same weakness…... it's all DF fruit users. I was just wondering whether sea water would negate the effects of the ranged prolonged effect DFs. I mean now that I think of it I wonder if Sugar's toys would revert if flooded with Sea Water.

  • So do you guys think Onigashima is really close to falling by next chapter and will receive closure on that?

He made the exact opposite point, it's any pool of water including rivers, pools and baths.

    !

  • @Joy:

Alright good chapter and it will absolutely bollocks if Kaido doesn’t show awakening in the next chapter. Unless you think his mind and body didn’t catch up to him ability

I mean he flushed out Big Mom without granting her an awakening card

What makes you think he wouldn't do the same to the other Yonko ?

Oda is hella bias and it disgust me and i know some smart ass gonna jump on me and claims i root for the bad guys, no I'm not i just care for the characters receiving a little share of fairness and respect which almost never happened in this war since none of the bad guys awakened

But the prison guards are clearly far more genius and competent than the beast pirates and two yonkos.

  • @hideoushorrendous:

Big Mom is the very definition of an unstable mind.

  • @Monquito:

I'd go with the invaders being Laffite and unknown Titan from Teach's crew, which I think is a woman.

Oh man, I'd totally be down with Black Beard pirates making moves on Yonko territory while there gone, and if it's only two of them then maybe the others are off on different missions that are just as big

Imagine post wano scenes with The BB Pirates split off into multiple groups causing havoc all across the world, a great way to build up the final villains

We got it with Luffy's last two big fights, don't know why people think Kaido will be the exception here

It's just a manga, chill. No need to trashtalk Oda for not writing HIS manga the way you wish …

  • @hideoushorrendous:

Yeah, like those guys awakened naturally… I'm sure Vegapunk had nothing to do with it... :ninja:

  • @Zhenja:

Yeah, like those guys awakened naturally… I'm sure Vegapunk had nothing to do with it... :ninja:

Maybe they ended that way because of force awakening or some failed DF's. There should be an explanation as I doubt Zoan awakenings look like that.

  • Are we sure that Kaido hasn't already awakened his fruit, last time I check is called the Fish-Fish fruit, and he is clearly a dragon. We may see him in the flashback learn to take his fruit into a new level.

  • @Benjaman:

The two aren't mutually exclusive in Eastern cultures

  • @Benjaman:

Are we sure that Kaido hasn't already awakened his fruit

No, basically we know nothing… we're just jumping to conclusions, as usual...

It's very possible that Momo's fruit is a failure because Vegapunk couldn't recreate it to the full extant, just the dragon form...

  • It's a mythical fish fruit. Turning into a dragon is as awakened as it gets.

    ! Outrage incomming in 3, 2, 1…🆒

  • The fact that Kaido have control over multiple elements and he evolve from a fish fish fruit into a Dragon why can't we consider him to be awaken. Big mom also can do so much already with her fruit that is beyond what it should do, why do we think it is not awaken.

  • The reason why people question if Kaido is awakened or not is because Momo, whom apparently has a clone of Kaido's fruit, has looked like a dragon while he was a child and an adult now.

  • @K.:

The reason why people question if Kaido is awakened or not is because Momo, whom apparently has a clone of Kaido's fruit, has looked like a dragon while he was a child and an adult now.

Also, the full name of Kaido's fruit is Fish Fish Fruit: Mythical model Azure Dragon. Not carp, not anything else fishy, the model itself is "dragon".

  • One problem is, that neither one of them or anyone else said, that they're awakened… like "... I'll show you how true awakening looks like...." something among those lines...

Another thing is, that we got those things called "awakened":

Without knowing what it actually means…

Kaido's statement: "Body transformations like that are the trademark of Zoan powers" makes it highly likely, that his dragon form is in fact his awakened form... from fish to dragon...
I mean, it was only after the awakening, that Luffy became Nika...

Big Mom being able to manipulate other souls besides her own, falls perfectly in line with Paramecia awakening...

I just don't know what else people expect them to have...

  • What do we know, maybe we've been mistaken from the start and the thing all awakened Zoan have in common is that they get a free Kanabo :ninja:

  • What if all the Mythical Zoans we've seen so far are actually awakened, and because of that can turn into their model in the first place? :ninja:

Thanks for reminding me of those guys. Kaido's "Awakening is what happens when your mind and body catch up to your power" makes absolutely no sense with those mindless buffoons.

  • @K.:

The reason why people question if Kaido is awakened or not is because Momo, whom apparently has a clone of Kaido's fruit, has looked like a dragon while he was a child and an adult now.

    that's the key

if someone would claim that Kaido has awakened then how do you explain Momo ?

besides a zoan's awakening includes self healing which is why luffy came back fresh after being almost dead, meanwhile Kaido is really tired he fell on his knee on his own in the previous chapter, his flame clouds are weakened and will collapse soon and that proves he has not healed or recovered since Yamato noticed the island is unstable midair a while ago.

  • @hideoushorrendous:

    that's the key

if someone would claim that Kaido has awakened then how do you explain Momo ?

    How about that?:

    @Zhenja:

It's very possible that Momo's fruit is a failure because Vegapunk couldn't recreate it to the full extant, just the dragon form…

  • Vegapunk expressly wantend a Koi for his pond. Imagine the disappointment.

  • @Ivotas:

Thanks for reminding me of those guys. Kaido's "Awakening is what happens when your mind and body catch up to your power" makes absolutely no sense with those mindless buffoons.

I remember people theorizing that the Guardian beasts were animals using the proper DF. Like, Minotaurus is a bull using the ox ox fruit.

In that case, they are born in alignment with their power. It doesn’t explain the humanoid form, thought.

  • @Ivotas:

Thanks for reminding me of those guys. Kaido's "Awakening is what happens when your mind and body catch up to your power" makes absolutely no sense with those mindless buffoons.

That could easily be explained as them having been experimented on in the past. Which is an even easier theory to buy depending on if you believe Chopper's Monster Form is actually his Awakening.

  • What about Kaido having the ability to manipulate and use elements( fire, lightening, wind etc.) is his awakening. Also maybe the guards in impel down was force awaken and their minds wasn't able to keep up with their ability, but Kaido through his will is able to be one with his ability and mind. What else can Kaido gain if there is an awakening separate from what we are seeing now, him able to control different elements, unmatched stamina, quick healing, not saying there can't be more but I can't think of anything outside of what he is now doing, maybe he will become mindless until he is put down.

  • Maybe I'm an odd one out for thinking about it like this, but I've speculated for a long time (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) that Momo's fruit isn't a failure at all. It's been highly speculated for a long time that Vegapunk likely has some ties to the Revolutionaries given his leniency with Kuma protecting the Sunny, so I don't think it's a stretch to consider that he might have lied to the World Government and told them it was a failure because he didn't want them to have that kind of power. I have no idea why, since if this is true we still have only a hazy guess at his motivations, but just a thought.

As of now, I don't think we've seen any actual differences between Kaido's and Momo's fruits. That's not to say there aren't any, and surely an artificial fruit has to come with its own inherent differences, but so far the abilities check out to be the same, right down to the flame clouds. And while we don't know what Kaido's awakening is–maybe he's already used it, but I doubt we've seen it yet--Momo could very well be able to use the same power. Or perhaps awakenings are linked more directly to spirits/souls/the essence of an idea or person (like the gomu gomu no mi with Joyboy and Nika in ways we have yet to understand); then the artificial fruit probably can't do that.

  • I still feel there should be something else regarding Momo's (and consequently, Kaido's) fruit.

I don't know, that has to be setting up something big for when they realize the fruit is not actually a failure. Momo turning into a full adult dragon could be it, but it seems a bit unsatisfying.

  • I don't see what's so hard to grasp about the idea that an eastern dragon is a mythical fish. That's quite prevalent in eastern mythology, right? So yeah, I don't think we've seen Kaido's awakened form yet, and I doubt it's just going to be like the impel down zoans.

  • the battle is two mythical zoans against each other

it's very irrational for the least experienced one to awaken while the other just smiles around about to be defeated

but whatever since oda wants to end this asap.

  • @Coookie:

    He made the exact opposi
