It's a shame there will be no Chapter spoiler this week
That's a consequence of there being no chapter to spoil. Enjoy Easter!

I really don’t care much whether Kaido shows an awakening or if he has shown it, I want the story to move forward and to end. But I’m still very intrigued on how this will end whether if Blackbeard the coward is gonna show up and kill a weakened Kaido to take the fruit or how Luffy is gonna finish Kaido. Overall my greatest interest is the aftermath, the party, the talks of the accomplishment, THE REACTION AROUND THE WORLD.

Kaido has to show his awakened form as, unlike Big Mom, his role in the story should be over after Wano. Very doubtful that Blackbeard takes Kaido's fruit. What would be the point? Up his threat level? If that's the case, the best thing that could happen is him acquiring an ancient weapon.

How do you know he hasn’t shown his awakening, he has to announce it?. And no I don’t think he has to show it, he has shown to be OP already and so has Big Mom. Did Whitebeard show his awakening?. We don’t know, he probably did. The thing is that he showed that he was op just like the other 2 emperors.
On Blackbeard third fruit, that’s his thing, trying to get stronger which he would with Kaido’s or another third fruit, so yes there’s a big point to it, besides everybody has theorized that he will get a third fruit.

He doesn't have to show it, but it would be a great escalation tool at the moment given that Luffy seems to have caught up to him right now.

Doflamingo and Katakuri showed it, if Luffy's biggest opponent yet has it, Oda will make it clear to us.

It would escalate things no doubt. I wouldn’t mind seeing a Kaido summoning a giant storm and dragons and lightning all around vs giant Luffy both flying in the air while Momo who’s taken control of oni tries to land it. I’m saying that maybe the battle between Kaido and Luffy needs to leave Oni. Everything in Oni is basically resolved by now, Momo just needs to control it and land it. Things with Kaido vs Luffy seems to be in its last leg but yeah I wouldn’t mind a big show just before it ends. I want a better performance from giant Luffy than the one we got. I’m really desperate for the aftermath because the world is gonna change after

BB taking Kaido's fruit has lost it's meaning with Luffy now having the greatest Zoan of them all.
-
I see a lot of Younger Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho in Kaido. I imagine if awakening is to come, it'll be just like 100% Power Toguro. Only brought out for the very final clash, in which Kaido will full tank Luffy's new final move "with everything I've got left." If he can take it and stay standing, he wins. But the dragon's scales will finally crack and break, as he thanks Luffy for finally giving him the fight he's wanted for so long.

When it comes to the shinobi within One Piece, I have reached a point where I stopped caring. As a group of professionals, they have been immensely underwhelming and forgettable. Not even the humour on display for the shinobi in focus is entertaining anymore. Patience has been exhausted and hope completely destroyed. Personally, the presentation of shinobi in One Piece has been one of the worst I have seen in a fictional story. I understand Oda respects Kishimoto (mangaka of Naruto) very much and the two are close friends but under utilizing a core cultural aspect of Wano does a disservice to both the shinobi and the arc in general. Oda didn’t want much overlap with Naruto but in his obsession to restrict himself, he kept the presentation of shinobi in a very unnatural state which had no balance whatsoever. The two shinobi that received the most focus, Raizo and Shinobu were similar in many ways and without adequate focus and (shinobi) characters to balance them with, the shinobi aspect of their character became a detrimental element. A badass shinobi character was desperately needed to champion the profession who could have elevated the wackiness in both Raizo and Shinobu’s personalities too. The reasons ridiculous characters like Luffy and Usopp shine so much in the Straw Hat Pirates is because characters like Zoro, Sanji and Nami exist. With the focus Raizo did receive in this chapter, it was cool but I have long since lost interest. I was more relieved the issue with the fire was finally dealt with than impressed by Raizo preparing for such a moment which he once failed to handle in the past. At this point, I would have preferred if Oda not include any Shinobi in One Piece. He could have at least gone with something culturally aligned with Japan that he could fully explore and utilize like say Shrine Maidens/Miko who use shikigami or some form of mystical arts.

Hawkins predicted the end of Luffy's and Kaido's fight…
How much of a coincidence is the lightning strike in the tower card and Luffy's attack on the last page…
:ninja:

This post is deleted!

Oh snap, nice pick up. The tower representing the current generation (via Kaido who is the world's strongest creature with layered scales resembling layered bricks) and the lightning bolt that shatters it representing the new generation (via Luffy with the world's most ridiculous power).
Damn Hawkins, when your cards are so cryptic, how do you even manage to accurately interpret them?
-
Hawkins would've made a good Vice Admiral for WG. Kinda precious resource to have that can predict battle outcomes and whatnot.

Tuesday come my friend…

Oh yeah, the coverstory has to wait another chapter, since this week's has a color spread, doesn't it?
-
I hope no one is seriously expecting to get to know who those shadowed figures are within the cover story itself?
If it's the rest of the vinsmokes (I don't see how they would warrant a reaction like that from the people) it's just not very interesting at all and if it's anyone else taking advantage of Big Mom being absent that WOULD warrant the fleeing reaction the people seem to have (BB for instance) it will not get revealed in a cover story at all. We will just see the Vinsmokes escaping (perhaps aided by the chaos) and a destroyed Totland island in the background leaving it ambiguous until it's touched upon in the actual story. Perhaps in a "From the decks of the world" type news chapter.
It can also not be Pekoms and Pedro, again, because of the reactions of the crowd.

Would you not run away from a lion-turtle with gouged out eyes and high heels, and a heavily dismembered jaguar?

Not really, no. I'd probably call a vet.
I would, however, run away from something ominous like a giant being like San Juan Wolf who is of course not shown but can easily be in the background where we can't see him in this picture.
My guess is: Lafitte, Shilliew and San Juan Wolf. Lafitte and Shilliew might get a reaction like that without San Juan Wolf though but I'd just like him to be there.
Why BB pirates?1: Pudding might be able to read poneglyphs anytime soon and BB still probably lacks in that department
2: Steal poneglyphs or at least make a copy
3: Steal interesting Devil Fruits
4: Severely weaken Big Mom's reputation (after she has been beaten by Luffy's coalition also has Totland itself being attacked and partly/totally destroyed)
5: BB is an opportunist that won't shy away from taking any chance to get ahead. He likes being in Luffy's wake, taking advantage of situations he created. He follows Luffy, ends up capturing Ace which leads to Luffy going to ID to free Ace which makes BB take advantage and recruit powerful crew members. Ace's capture leads to war between marines and WB and again BB takes advantage to kill WB and take his fruit. Luffy goes to Totland and gets Big Mom herself to follow him to Wano and now a certain person arrives at Totland…<BB also knows Big Mom is gone and that Totland without Big Mom is much easier to invade. Depending on the timing of this cover story, Katakuri and Cracker might not even be at full power either. Then who is there to oppose them? No one I can think of.
BB is like a scavenger, swooping in after Luffy was somewhere and taking whatever it was he wanted with the least amount of effort necessary.
-
My crackpot theory is, the BM pirates will be overwhelmed, Pudding frees the Vinsmoke siblings and they finish of the intruders, this can only happen if Katakuri is still out of order and can't participate in any fights. But my gut feeling is pointing towards it being the Vinsmoke siblings for the rescue of their other two brothers.

Maybe that's where people ran off to! It's clearly an emergency

The problem with the Blackbeard theories is that the cover story is picking up right where Whole Cake Island left off with no real place for or evidence of a timeskip to the present day. Which means everything we're seeing has to fit in the timeline around 15 days in the past (at minimum).
So, Big Mom will have literally just left to chase Luffy toward Wano. If she gets wind of an invasion, she's only a couple hours sail away at most, and would return with a vengeance. The members of her crew outside Wano will also have to have not heard of their homeland being invaded for more than two weeks. Any Blackbeard pirates present have to make it back to Fullalead in about four or five days for Moria's mid-Reverie invasion, and no one showed any obvious battle damage at the time. The Reverie will also have to have passed without Blackbeard's invasion making the news. The Navy are invested enough in the movements of the Emperors to consider Big Mom calling Kaido a big deal. And, of course, after the end of the Reverie, Blackbeard finally says he's making his move and going to claim whatever it is he wants after the Reverie ends, so that would have to be different to whatever he went after in Big Mom's territory.
The motive is there, but the timeline doesn't work for it at all.
-
It's going to be Niji and Yonji, Pudding was shown plotting something like she tricked Oven somehow. The two being experimented on aren't real. BB pirates would illicit an even stronger reaction from the people running away I think.

No spoilers yet?

I would agree but the shoes dont fit at all
