The combat system is really cool and intuitive.
Which is why it’s such a shame the game is really easy so far. I defeated the final boss of Chapter 1 with two Gum Gum Pistols and I wasn’t actively grinding before that at all.

As I have reached around 10 hours of play time, I am going to write my general thoughts about as of right i might ramble a little bit so sorry for that in advanced.
Upon booting up the game the first thing I noticed was how good the game actually looked, I had watched most of the trailers and gameplay demos release, but probably due to compression it how great it actually looked. Though it may look great to me because of my unfamiliarity with modern games.
For reference ended up pre-ordering the deluxe edition. Mainly for that (from what i can tell) exclusive Sogeking outfit, though It’s nice to have the dlc tossed in with that. Add in the classic costumes and it's a nice package to start let's hope it was worth in the end. Though the classic costumes shouldn't have been a pre-order bonus but standard game content. As it's all reused models from the cutsceens; which can be weird as Nami is in her striped shirt past Arlong Park. The other offerings 200,000 beli some apples a revive, nothing game breaking nor too useful in the early game (you'd have to suck real bad for it to provide any benefit).
The deluxe edition also tossed in two extra accessories, I got one 10% tp discount and a 10% dodge. Which probably represent accessories found in the late game I may use them till then too. I don't find them too game breaking as unlike most purple accessories they only have the one skill slot and can't be upgraded in the camp. Which means they'll probably tossed aside for better accessories half-way through the game.

Haven't had a chance to play this yet but glad to hear the overall positive feedback. I don't want to hype myself up too much but at least it seems like this is not a bad game for which I'm grateful.
It's still going to be a while until I actually find the time to play this as I'm super busy right now, so I'd like to ask a question to anyone playing this game. I've seen that there's additional content on the PS store, like some sort of bonus level. Can anybody tell me more about it? Like is there more story in this DLC or are trophies tied to it or is just something like challenge rooms? I'd be grateful for feedback on this.^^

Adventure Expansion
That is all I know about the Adventure expansion, also all store pages (steam, Playstation) list a 1/13 release, But I can't confirm that that content exists yet. The steam page doesn't list any achievements that you would need a dlc to do like "beat DLC chapter" so it should be fine ignoring it.

While auto-battle is def for trash and shouldn't be applicable at any real challenging match, I am a bit surprised at speed. That's usually for a post-game unlock.
Nah, that's a QoL thing for sure. Dragon Quest XI S had it on the jump and it made the game so much better.

Yep, that's the stuff I've read at the store page. I was curious what that "expansion content will be available after the main game has been cleared." actually is. I'd like to know if it's worth dishing out the extra money for the expansion.

I bought the Deluxe Edition which should allow me to access the Adventure Expansion. I have all the DLC downloaded I already have the 100,000 berry bonus, because I started the game with 200,000 berry 100,000 which came from the Pre-Order content. I don't have the Ultra Useful Accessory Set but I might get that in the post game which I probably won't reach until the 16th-17th.
It being out might refer the the 100,000 berry I got too.
Alabasta is massive. After 16 hours of playtime I only just arrived in Alubarna. Nanohana is a more lively town than many a modern Final Fantasy game.
Its very faitful adaptation to game does make me annoyed they didn't just make a turn-based RPG straight-up adapting the first two or three sagas. I alread know the returns to present day are going to annoy me. The whole thing just screams "Bamco thinks people won't buy this game if it isn't recognizably post-timeskip."
@pokebat7 same for me. Deluxe edition, but I only got the money and Sniper King so far.

Yeah if I find anything, I'll post about it.
Side note has anyone gotten a record cube for defeating the mountain bandits in Alabasta? I'm missing an enemy in the bestiary in between the entry for pirates and marines. (It was in water 7)

Thanks, much appreciated.
There are variations of the Kung Fu Dugongs like Karate and Wrestling Dugongs.
10/10. Best Game.
Shame I'm stuck behind the group. I pre-ordered a physical copy and for some reason Amazon picked this to be their slowest delivery for me lately. Not expected until Tuesday.
Just beat the game. I didn't get a message indicating I could now access the Adventure Pack DLC content. I believe that the only thing you'll gain by buying the Adventure Pack right now is just the 100,000 Berry (It's just a Season Pass)
Brook has a pre timeskip outfit
My Top 5 Islands (If I was asked to replay them)
@pokebat7
Thanks for the update mate. That's too bad. Also it's definitely not worth the extra money they ask for the adventure expansion. I guess a season pass is likely because selling this content for this price is a "tad" high. I do like that there is a pre-timeskip Brook though. Hope that one will be available at a cheaper price. Also a pre-timeskip Franky would be nice.

Due to how Anime games work it's usually safe to assume and DLC worth 25 to 30$ is a season pass. Bandai usually sells the Pre-order bonus for around 4, I don't believe it will be too expensive as most of the costumes (besides Brooks) exist in the game for a cutscene.
Franky most likely not receive a pre-time skip costume due to the differences in model (Past franky doesn't have nipple lights after all). As a compromise they let pre-timeskip Franky be a companion in Water 7 for a bit, though it hardly compares.

I sure hope that there'll at least be content worth it. So far I don't see it.

That's an interesting point you bring there. Can you go Gear 4th with the pre-timeskip costume? If yes, then the moveset shouldn't be an issue for a pre-timeskip Franky. Only the size would be different but that's about it. It's quite common to give a same moveset to different character models with no regards of size. In this case the two different models would just be the same character.
I finally beat Alabasta after a 10hr slog and even though I'm interested in what's going on at Waford I don't know if I can go on.
The constant reliance on old material bc of the need to 'catch attention of new fans'.
The tiny QoL issues that build up slowly over time and are eventually crushing.
The insulting adherence to not only bland af post-skip outfits, and the laughably lazy and disrespectful forced view of those outfits even with paid content outfit changes.
The wonky facial animations during controlled scenes in combat.
And maybe worst of all, the soul-crushing adherence to pointless, unrewarding and unskippable fetch-quests that only inflate game time.
It's happened several times but the two that stick out most in my mind are:
Going to an uncrossable sea of sand (sure, I'm with that) then trying to find a way around. Being told of a way around through a cave. Finding the cave. Fighting through the cave. Getting to the end of the cave and finding out that it's BLOCKED OFF then being forced to walk back through the cave, and going back to where it all started, only to have the solution appear before you by luck.
Being tasked with 'gathering your crew' after beating Croc. While the above-mentioned issue has literally no purpose other than padding out time, the goal of this menial task is to acquaint the player with post-war Alabasta. This would be a worthy notion if it was:
A. Actually related to the town and its people.
B. Benefited the player at its conclusion.
But no, the core of the quest is finding people who should be with you anyway and theres very little to do in the town besides collect a few shinies. In fact, it seems that all breakable items are actually missing items if you've already collected them making it even more pointless. The biggest slap in the face comes with having to collect Robin who, like the cave, makes you run out to an end of the map only to tell you she won't come with you, forcing you to manually run all the way back having accomplished nothing.
And although this falls under the QoL issue, there are zero indicators for target locations which is baffling. Even game intending to waste your time like FF14 give players radial search markers on maps that prompt meaningful exploration without giving away exact destinations.
Just thinking about slogging through the other memories at this point has made me lose motivation for the game.
If you've been with the series fewer than 2 decades, maybe the experience is great fun and I wish the best for anyone playing. But I've been playing these since 2003 and the charm of, "Luffy said that thing he said in the series!" has entirely worn off.
They're afraid (and probably unable) to do new things with the characters. I wish they dumped the memory time-crunching aspect and featured Waford itself as an original story like WS had the courage to do.
I'm pretty sure I won't complete it but we'll see. I'm having way more fun replaying FF7R.

PT Luffy can go Gear 4th it even removes his scar. I also double check Franky's move set and all his moves besides Franky Cannon would work for the other model. PT Franky has Franky Destroy Cannon which has a similar effect/look, however that would require them to make a new model and rig it properly which make me think we won't see it until they release the Pre-Order as payed DLC

It reminds me of movie 9 in how even though Robin and Franky are in it they essentially just replaced Vivi and Karoo and told the same story despite the changes.

Alabasta is the only section that has purposeless detours, entering that cave or fighting the food/water stealing bandits don't add anything to the story or the gameplay. The other arc tie those sections in with the narrative better and don't feel like the game id just wasting your time for the heck of it.

I found this section to be really charming it reminded me of when a arc would end and the anime would air a few episodes of filler where the crew were just hanging out doing their own things. Though it is really funny how Robin says "I will not talk to Vivi in One Piece Odyssey."
I just returned the game. I like the battle system and getting to explore Alabasta is pretty nice but I don't think it's worth the current price point.
I'll buy it again later down the line when the price drops.

As long as we see it we get him one way or another I'm happy. I just like pre-timeskip Franky so much. Easily one of the best character designs in the entire series.
Just finished the game here.
It takes a looot of patience to go through all those fetch quests. As Greg said, markers on the map would be heck of a time saver.
By the end of things, the game is essentially us watching Lim watch One Piece and her becoming a fan. It’s charming, if nothing else.
Post-game content is pretty bare bones with just challenges and lingering side quests. If they do pump out any dlc, fingers crossed they’ll get creative and take some chances.
Overall, a fun experience if you can manage the classic old school rpg slog, but not for those looking for something new or with lasting replayability.
it'll always bother me how Toei and Namco and everyone in the media business keeps using the Fishman Island costumes as the default when Oda changes the wardrobe every arc. I swear deep down he is annoyed by this but can't do much because he designed them.

I only have a couple too but basically you find them by using observation haki near the place where you first meet a character.
Once I finish the game, I’ll have to fetch quest all the memorial logs, yaya cubes and Robin drops.
@Kaiolino Oh, damn, I had no idea about that. Thanks.
I've only found 44 Memorial Logs So far
I've listed them and where I found them below
I Also have all the enemy Logs If you need
@zeltrax225 There are plenty of colorspreads where Oda uses the FI ones, so he definitely considers them default too.
Most recent example:
Also Zoro seemingly wears this outfit in Egghead as well and Luffy wore his at the beginning of Wano for example.
But yeah, the others haven't been seen again in the main series so I also wish we could move on from them in the various media.
@pokebat7 Yes, I would like to see the combat logs, thank you.
I've played up into Water Seven now and can say, it's pretty fine for a background game I can half focus on while watching stuff on my computer. Not something that needs a super high amount of direct focus.
I just wish the "running" was a bit faster. Makes me miss the speed you could run across Unlimited Adventure/Cruise.
Basically I enjoy roaming the world and collecting everything with whichever character is needed and doing the quests/story and then when most combats start I leave it on auto and look at my videos playing next to me.
@Johnny-B-Decent said in "One Piece Odyssey" trademark registered by Shueisha and Bandai Namco:

Their are 121 Combat Logs
I'll list them by character, then the best region to find them.
(though most can be found on Waford in the post game)
I Believe That Drop Rate Up Jewelry may boost the chance of getting record cubes.
Brooks Pre-time skip Outfit comes from the side quest Yaya Cubes 7
I've 100% the game now so while I don't remember everything 100%, I can give you general locations for most things
@King-Cannon its part of the kumamoto revival project I think. One piece has this entire campaign to revive the area in recent years. Also, every other marketing/tv/ads uses the fishman island outfits so you can see how for something more official and more of a marketing direction, he'll have to oblige. Point being that even Oda doesn't draw them much or at all except for zoro and luffy's. This is a huge contrast to pre-time skip where characters like Usopp and Zoro kept the same outfit for most of the journey.
Basically I'm just saying I don't think he likes it but uniformity is required in mass media to sell.
I would suggest that it's less like/dislike than it is, Oda realizes that their default outfits are iconic and so he goes with them.
The only problems being...
They started giving pre-timeskip characters different looks in games and such much earlier. Not ALL strawhats but at least Nami, Robin and Sanji (I think the horny boy demo is also a reason why they're keeping the FMI looks, but it's much, much, much more difficult to recommend this series and Nami's tits are blasting in your face at the first google result).
Brook and franky not being in alabasta is a missed chance IMO it would have been fun to see them react to situation there and other stuff before they joined the crew.
Franky's at least around for the Marineford visit. Brook doesn't even get that and it's a far bigger injustice given how big an issue it's portrayed to the crew that they get to be there for Luffy this time.
I'm onto Dressrosa and AI Luffy has really started enjoying to just spam Conqueror's Haki move every battle. Kinda getting old, but not really something to complain about. Chopper AI's always been bad by comparison as he saves his skill bar so much instead of using skills. Brook's a bit weak coming in, so probably should've farmed him up a little before I jumped in. Was kinda hoping I could've gone to the other Memories first to clean some stuff up, but had to go straight into Dressrosa.

- It's been well over a decade.

That looks to be an evil shadow Lim using a memoria cube at Marineford.
So it might just be a remixed boss rush with a short story.
I wonder what it is going to be about as this game doesn't have loose narrative threads to expand upon.

It has been performing as expected. Just looking at the first week of sales (JP) compared to other recent titles.
1. Pirate Warriors 4 (~137,000) (Ignore this it's an anomaly)
2. Odyssey (~66,000)
3. World Seeker (~51,000)
It's already preforming better than World Seeker, However One Piece has had a resurgence in popularity due to Film Red and Wano Ending, which could count for that ~15,000 difference. I'll also add that with Film Red ending the week after it's release pushed Odyssey out of the news cycle, and thus may have hurt it sales in the long run.
Also I forgot to post about it but the Pre-Order DLC Released a bit ago it runs about 5 Dollars. There was also some Jewelry DLC that runs for 3 Dollars and isn't worth it, 4 items with just one exclusive one that is only useful if you suck at an already easy game.

Thanks for the info, guys! I have mixed feelings. In a way, it's good to know that the brand is strong and it will likely recieve more investments in the future; on the other hand, mediocre-to-bad games thriving might lead the next games into a path I'm not a fan off.
welp, at least we've had the Grand Battle, the Unlimited and the Pirate Warriors series. and, my personal favourite, the Jump Stars (DS only ok? J-Stars Victory and Jump Force the door out is this way).
