DADDY!!! (seriously, anyone who's a big daddy's girl will find this very emotional)
This is a case I suppose of "heartwarming" winning over "dramatic" or "hilarious". It's why I still think Babe should have won Best Picture instead of Braveheart.

ngl the father crying hit me quite hard.
I think he got a haircut.
The fuckers had to end it on a cliffhanger, huh?
And the winner is...

... who most people expected
No series with competitions can be complete if the hero doesn't lose at least one. And this does make a good point about how different watching something on screen vs. seeing it live can make a difference.
The one time I've seen Shakespeare on stage (Twelfth Night) is still the most impressive to me even with all the movies of his other stories.
Poor girl.
Nice and entirely expected finale. The downside is that I don't really want to spend anymore time with any of Akane's collegues for a while. Not even the Official Gary.
Candy apples are inferior to every other option, home boy needs to rethink his choices.
This should be a fun lil breather. Candy apples...ick. caramel's the only way to go imo.
Interesting convo with ikken and gakumon tho.
I don't eat candy or caramel apples. If you're doing fruit, you gotta do chocolate bananas.
takoyaki
Now I'm hungry.
Tighten the loincloth of your heart!
Looks like we might finally get to see guriko perform. Hopefully. Based on the very last panel.
There's him, maikeru and shiguma left to see. Kind of hoping we'll get to see shiguma too. Maikeru can wait.
Poor Yuri. Always overshadowed.
Man, that was a really good one. It's a nice dilema, I want to see more.
I love chapters like this so much.
Karashi's turn for some spotlight!
Little Ant!
I love Masters who give their apprentices funny nicknames.
Akane and Asagao lololol. Pair of goofs.
Oooo chocho looks like he's gonna be a boatload of fun.
Definitely. Akane has this on other series that even secondary characters are introduced in a pleasing way and often have a touch of humanity that goes beyond a collection of cool quirks.
Loved how they end up the chapter, made me really excited to know more about Chocho and how he ties to Akane's Nen
Halloween color page! Yay!
This is like the best comedians who can work an audience with them.
this guy walked in from another series lmao
I think it's the first time that the "tell, not show" part of the manga hasn't really worked for me. The art is great in the doublespreads, though.

Who didn't expect it to be rigged?
Cranky looking dude lol. Looking like he lives up to his moniker "the furious."
i keep losing track of who's title is what and who is who. Like the definitive faces I remember. But there's like a bunch of seniors and idk which senior is higher than which and then theres rookies which I kind of know who is who but then there are old masters which i keep forgetting who belong to their group. i probably need a re-read soon. I wonder if someday someone will make a video about the similarities between stand-up and rakugo (i know they are obviously different).

Makes you ask, "how does a guy like this make you smile?" Rakugo is almost always amusing stories, not epic tragedies or action scenes.
Lololol. Those costumes are hilarious lol.
that one speech bubble about how you get your audience to want something being as important if not more important than how good the product/service actually is was really good. I love how this business wisdom nugget is so nicely slotted into a manga for young children/teenagers because you can essentially take that one phrase, believe in it (because it is true) and keep that in your mind to succeed in whatever you are doing.
I can't get it out of my mind at how fucking good Karashi is as a character and the facets that this manga has. Good stuff.
It's marketing in a nutshell.
Lovely color spread!
Go koguma go!
