Nothing to point out, really, but I'm really captivated by this series. Well-paced reading, and always lefts me with a taste for more.
I'm a bit torn between wanting all these new charaters to pull some weight, or to just ignore them for the time being and advance the story to the next conflict.
Wondering if this is going to be a slight rehash of the chapters we got with kyoji. Lots of observing and learning in between the chores except it's not so much the audience she's taking note of, but the people performing.
A good reminder that the first level of most apprenticeships is called "minarai", which means "learn by watching". Not a lot of direct teaching, but learning by watching your betters around you. Like how a new apprentice sushi chef is only allowed to make rice and do cleaning, but can watch the chefs in between and pick up their tricks.

Akane is just so charismatic, I found myself rooting for her halfway through the chapter.

My mouth dropped once I realized what she was doing, I can't believe she actually went that far with it. Overall, I think this is one of my favorite chapters of the series. I thought the jokes translated fairly well into english.

That flew over my head completely. I reread the chapter yet still fail to see what you're refering to. What did I miss ?
First the huge effect that she has on the environment with little to no action - seems a bit magical and therefore there's a connection to a magical technique that imprints ~your reality~ into the shared world - and second the final spread in which she conjures a whole period accurate memorabilia with her performance.

I'm a bit confused, though. Going by the journalist's introduction I thought Rokuro was from the traditionalist school, however the fact that he went straight into story mode and the yelling seem like a more modern take? Plus I itinially was under the impression that he belonged to the same school as Akane, but this could be my mistake.

That's the first thing I had in mind when she told her she will teach her that story. I can't see Akane playing the prostitute like the the master. Looking forward to how she will adjust the acting.
lol. Reminds me of Black Swan the movie where the innocent ballerina had to learn to embrace her sexual side (which didn't go well b/c she was kinda nuts). Which Akane might have to do here too. Or rather, she'll have to find an oiran who suits her.
When urara said akane wasn't suited as the oiran my mind immediately thought she might be better at telling it thru the man's perspective (if that makes any sense?). I consider her a tomboy so I feel like it'd fit like how Kaisei (the personal space invader) is super good at reenacting the female characters.
