Couldn't say it better. The action these past couple chapters is mind-blowing.
Dandadan

It is great to see him apply the moves he learned with Turbo granny. But it wasn't enough and the poor golden ball is lost once again.
They will need all the help they can find. These aliens came in numbers -
Wait what? At work?

It's been funny to see everyone stealing from the Serpo, and now they're even useful. Hope he gets wrecked while Momo escapes.
-
And amidst all this, the mirror hag still has to do her thing.
This series is going bananas right now and I don't know if it's supposed to be nearing its climax or it's just a crazy battle arc and then it'll just keep going, but it does feel like the author is pulling all the stops. Is there any interview or quotes from the author where he states or at least implies for how long he wants to keep the manga going?
-
Woah, it was a lotta fun reading this dynamic, packed chapter.
I don't feel like this is the end, but maybe the first "big" saga that spawns at least 2-4 volumes.
-
@kouch_lee I don't think there is. There was an interview where he stated that he was burnt out of making manga and an editor told him to stop forcing himself and just draw whatever he liked. This is how DanDaDan was conceived, and you can still feel how he's enjoying himself with all the crazy concepts and references he includes.
For something more tangible, there's the subterraneans' plot pending. Okarun's balls too, but that plot turned to be too unpredictable.

Moe Moe Nessie

Maybe Momo was a cryptid fan like Okarun in the past, but her grandma convinced her that cryptids are yokai.
-
Woohooooooo !!! This is me litterally dancing in my chair, cos' I had been waiting for the Moe-Moe beam ever since Momo took her part-time job. Oh boy, this manga NEVER ever disappoints
-
So all this time the café job was a secret training arc. I love this. Goddamn I love this.
-
LASEIGAAAAN!
loved it, the art is just chef's kiss in this chapter mamma mia
-
Who gives such a specific estimate? Approximately 666 species doesn't make sense.
If ancient civilizations knew about aliens, it's a guarantee that current world leaders also do. Also we got the serpo's name, it's Rokuro. Good thing he's missing his lower half, it lessens the NTR vibe at the end.
-
Wat is hell
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1015234 -
-
Too bad Rokuro didn't lose his mechanical banana. It seems the series wants to redeem him, but I don't like it. He's still got a rapist mindset.
-
Serpo is still not above of being...well a Serpo. On the injured I think El-matematico is right. Okuran did suffered some burns on his face.
-
Fingers crossed! I don't know how it's done in Japan, but cloth on the face is something I could see to cover a dead body.
-
The thing is, more than the cultural aspect of covering a dead body, the cloth seems soaked in blood, so whoever that is, if ti's human and alive it's being waterboarded. Also seems like the legs are missing and it has that stuff piled near it. My guess is that it's there for shock factor to make you think of Okarun but it's actually an injured alien left behind.
-
@El-Matematico I thought the same about the missing legs but wasn't sure if I was reading the image properly, good to know I'm not the only one with that impression.
Your interpretation sounds reasonable. So far Dandadan plays a lot with shock, but it hasn't entered gruesome territory in what it does to human characters, so thinking about it again I doubt the third body would really be a dead crew member.
-
The first half of the chapter was so uneccesarily creepy. I wish they'd let go of the perverted stuff, it's the one thing dragging the series down.
Second half though, damn.
-
As predicted...
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1015255 -
It's gonna happen, right? Aliens vs. Yokai? It HAS to happen!
-
Hell yeah! Just...Not too soon I hope - I'm looking forward to it, but also I feel this conflict could be the final war that brings the series to a conclusion.
-
Nah, they will have only one ball once this ends. There's need to have more arcs for the final ball.
-
This should be the arc that shows why aliens that know earth, are so afraid of doing any sort of full scale invasion.
-
@pariston_hill Dandadan : the manga where characters go to war over someone's balls. This is the stuff of legends, I reckon not even Chainsawman is that daring

Is it daring or just childish and stupid? I guess insipid crap like this is a good reminder that it's just a kids comic.
-
Damm bro, you hardcore
-
@fdsfgfs Now why be a spoilsport? If a serious manga is what you're after, then Dandadan obviously isn't cut for you and it's nothing new. Okarun has been missing his manly parts since chapter ...1? If it's that much of a problem, why keep inflicting it on yourself?
Anyway, I am a childish old guy who enjoys the occasional below-the-belt joke and in my perspective this manga is a pearl precisely because it throws some stupidity in the mix. Feel free to ignore me if it can make you feel better.

That's a thing I still don't get after all this years. Not particular to this case. Usually why someone bothers to keep up with a series that they aren't enjoying anymore. I can only answer for myself, and in my case - FT, Naruto, Bleach - I was already 400 chapters deep into unsatisfying plot after plot, so I finished out of spite.
But when you didn't spend a significant amount of time on time (i.e. less than 100 chapters), why keep it?
-
I enjoy a lot of the manga quite a bit and certain parts not at all. I drop stuff all the time, and might do so here as well. But until then I get to post my opinions and you can ignore em or not in just the same way I can keep reading or not
-
Is it really that different to at least one poster stating every chapter how the One/Murata version of Onepunch-Man is inferior to the webcomic? And that has been going on for years.
I disagree with the post but i don't really mind someone posting stuff like that from time to time.
-
They completely forgot that Kinta was there for the robot.
-
The cat, I'm dying.
-
I love the visualization experiments and how the story still finds a room for goofiness in the middle of their worst crisis.
-
Yeah, in the middle of their worst crisis but they still manage to goof off to such a degree. Okarun's condition was something to be truly worried by, but then the author decided to get him chomped by a giant cat.
And is this the author saying "Kinta won't be a part of the climax"? Cause that'd be a shame. Get him in there, c'mon!
-
Damn, I feel like a spoiled brat saying this, but. . .
. . .this was TOO short! -
You think if an unknown alien army was going to invade earth they would gather the army of Yokai that they said a few chapters ago must be the reason aliens have never straight up invaded earth
-
How would they do that? All the yokai the've encountered are hostile and kind of single track mind. Going back to all the yokai we've seen, I don't think any of them could be reasoned with to help fight against aliens. Maibe Momo's grandma could help with that, but she's gonne somewhere else.

Aya is such a hard coach. Not sure why she seems to fare better than the others (maybe thanks to the training she underwent with Okarun), but I enjoyed the scene. "More teary-eyed, shrimp"

So, does the author have a NTR fetish or what? With Jiji's energy things and Okarun's out of body experience, maybe the cast will go more into psychic powers instead of only relying on possesion.
