Well, that was something alright. I definitely enjoyed the art style, hopefully the slightly forced edginess is just to hook people and will give way to better character interaction as time goes on.

Pretty cool so far, the monster designs are my favorite part (there are some scenes with the grandma spirit that remind me of Hakumen from Ushio to Tora, it´s a neat reference)

I've been loving this manga so far, you can definitely see the influence from working with Fujimoto Tatsuki and Kaku Yuuji. Yeah it's a bit edgy at times but it hasn't been too bad to me so far. Very interested to see where this goes!

man what a blast to see such uncluttered double pages! not a shadow of tertiary characters reacting to on-scene big moments, good thing to see.
action dense chapter that left me wanting more, the art is so soulfull!
the boy's hybrid-form reminds me so much of Black Cover's trap mage with a drop of Bleach-ness and I'm all for it.

This chapter was big-D Dumb, and I was hoping the series would avoid school shit/slice of life tropes, because I don't think it has the sophistication to handle them with the right mix of care and disdain.
That said, I'm not about to drop it. I really like the art, I like the clean lines a lot, I don't have high hopes for the characters but there's a really huge space for them to grow into so… yeah. Here's hoping not too much school daze stuff.

It's one thing after the other
I'm not too much into slice of life manga, but it worked well enough for me maybe precisely because I'm not familiar with the genre. Plus, just when you think that was a regular high-school drama chapter, the conclusion reminds that this person does have Fujimoto's seal of approval after all.

Maybe that's it, the cliché really slaps you in the face when the lovely art and paneling aren't distracting you, and a more traditional setting kicks in. Perhaps I was too harsh.

Loved the abrupt transition from school day to roflol-ing at Grandma's place. It's nowhere near subtle, but still entertains. And speaking of, the grandmother is quite a character too, I could become fond of her.

I 100% expect that she's revived somehow. Looking back in retrospect, the aliens in chapter 1 and 2 feel incredibly random, especially the second one. I guess they'll be explored in the future.
