Well obviously Sanji needs to switch to a clean white suit for the final arc.
Woohoo!! So Sanji is still our gentleman among manly gentlemen, not that I doubted him. Queen was the one who did it. I knew it! Sanji had an emotional crisis for nothing after all. He still respects women and this is the chivalrous cook we all know and love! Queen has crossed many lines which Sanji would never do: If pissing Chopper with his usage of Chemical weapons was not enough, look how he shamelessly copied Germa 66 powers but we are yet to get the details. Now, the Strawhats have more than enough reasons to take him down.
The reason why Oda is so GOATed is that the backstory didn't feel forced at all. All the little hints we've gotten over 1000+ chapters made that seem so natural and sets apart this series from so many others, as most anime/manga will bring that up out of nowhere for plot.
His whole suit and black shoes combo becomes redundant because his flames look just like black suit pants and polished leather shoes
That's a good point
Especially considering each island has it's own climate and is thus more vulnerable to interference.
How exactly is an island that keeps his own climate intact even no matter what happens to the climate on a larger scale more vulnerable to interference. Isn't it the exact opposite when for instance places like Little Garden still maintain a climate in which dinosaurs can live while the rest of the world has changed?

That's if we assume that he'll never wear anything else than black which already us not the case. Just now he's actually wearing a red suit. Anyways, personally I'd like to see violett flames but I guess if they really go down the different color route it'll be green.
Can't wait to see what wack design usopp and franky come up with for raid suit 2.0. these are the guys that created the Sunny, general franky, nami's weapons, so expectations are huge.

There is no larger scale because that's not how OP planet works, apparently. And there's like thousands of Little Gardens around, with their own specific geography, flora and fauna, some more and some less extreme.
And in the case of Punk Hazard, specifically, take into account the fact it was turned into a wasteland before the actual fight, which is why it was chosen as a battlefield to begin with. So it's climate was practically a clean slate. You lower the temperature enough with abilities and the place enters into it's own mini ice age. Except the half that got spammed with lava.
But isn't the "there's thousands of Little Garden around" exactly BECAUSE each island has it's climate which doesn't change no matter what? I fail to see how that's an argument for them being vulnerable to outside interference.

Much as I'd love them to, neither of them has mastered Germa science or even had time to look at the original suit before Sanji destroyed it. I'm afraid we're stuck until the end with Iffrit and whatever Oda comes up with for the next hotter flame.

Wasteland does not mean without climate.
In fact there is no such thing as without climate, unless you re in space. If there is atmosphere there is a climate and its not easier to alter just because the land was barren.
Pretty sure Oda has at least some basic understanding of how long an Ice Age takes and how many decades are usually needed for Man to alter the climate through their actions and industry.
Nothinh on the story ever told us that its easy to leave your print on the Grand Line islands like that.

Doesn't change no matter what, unless someone fucks with it. If Ace, SAbo or Akainu spent a week on Drum doing nothing but scorching the land, the average temperature would increase, stay that way for a lot longer, and throw the whole island climate off balance. All the plant life gone, incinerated. It would definitely take a while before it could return to its normal cycles, if ever. Imagine if Crocodile would were to dry out Little Garden completely with his ability. Sure, it would take a while, and when he's done, it would just be a plant less wasteland in which fauna that was living there until that point couldn't survive and thrive. It would likely remain a desert for decades if not centuries.

Except common logic. Here we had PH, the wasteland, the average temperature had a set value. And then Aokiji and Akainu came and spammed ice and lava, which was enough to fuck the island up even more.
Aokiji and Akainu didn't come to the island, chop the trees, start drilling for oil and built automobile producing factories. What do you think would happen to our planet if it was suddenly covered with ice for a week? Or if entire plant life was scorched? Apply that to a single island.

Scorching a landmass with lava for a week does exactly that, it scorches a landmass with lava for a week. Changing the topography to have actual volcanoes is not a common result of this unless of course you unleash something that goes far deeper than just pure scorching which I would assume is exactly what Akainu did.
Also to use the argument you yourself brought up when saying that the OP world doesn't operate like the real world. I would assume that a fictional concept like the Grand Line islands having their own strong magnetic fields that doesn't change for no matter what would be pretty resistent to outside interference. Not saying that I couldn't be wrong here but it just strikes me as such kind of a concept created.

Wel what for sure wouldn't happen is that a volcano suddenly grows out of the bottom of this earth just because we scorch the landmass for a week. That would be a result of far different natural movements that go much deeper than what happens on a surface level both literally and figuratively.

There are no volcanoes on the hot half, it's just lava pools. If he used enough of it to change the temperature drastically, it would just remain in it scorching form for a good while.
But what do you mean by resistant? You scorch or freeze the land and due to it's own isolated climate it just resets back after… how long?
Or they just used awakening.
But the landmass still exists. it's just covered with ice and snow on one side, and melted away by lava on the other. There's still buildings even on the scorching side.
I'm not saying either of those 2 can't use awakening, just that what they did doesn't need awakening, just an extended use of their abilities.

Actually there is. Cannot post links here for obvious reasons but check chapter 657 the very first page after the cover.

Again, there is. Also I'm really hard with finding further chapters/pages of the fire site of Punk Hazard but there might be even more. But even if not one volcano alone should be enough to prove there there is in fact a volcano on the "Akainu" side of the island.

You're right, there is a volcano! I apologize for my oversight, been a while since I read the thing.
Still doesn't mean much, though. Akainu doesn't create volcanoes per se, he creates magma. Guess I could see a volcano forming as a side effect of there being magma all over the island as well. Magma ends up underground, pressure starts building up, it explodes upwards, starts flowing from the top, some of it hardens over time, you have a volcano.
Damn, it's been ages since I engaged seriously into discussing anything about OP, and it's this…

Only it does mean much because you just don't create such a thing by simply spraying magma all over the place. We're not talking about a small magma crater here but a huge volcano.
But if that's not enough then let's stick with the argument you brought previously when you said "What do you think would happen to our planet if it was suddenly covered with ice for a week? Or if entire plant life was scorched? Apply that to a single island." I can tell you one thing that would happen if one island would be scorched for one week: It would be burnt to crisp. However it most definitely would not continue to burn for two years straight no matter how you cut it. Again, I'm not that versed an everything that is possible in nature but I'm really sure that this is not a logical outcome. So awakening shenanigans which can be all kinds of bullshit Oda wants it to be makes more sense in this situation.
Concasse against long-necks is considered a dick move, but I'm kinda interested in the visuals of that.
Sanji kicking him so hard that his "Snake" body is shot out of his main body would be silly though

Is it that huge, though? We only see it in the background, might be both 100 meters tall or 20 meters tall.
What I meant is, apply that to a single island with its own separate climate.
It wouldn't keep burning but the climate would have been changed irreparably. Or for a very very long time.
Fine, imagine a dude popped out and kept spraying magma until the whole Earth's landmass was covered with it. How long would it take for winds and rains to smother all the flame?

Chapter 655 first page after the cover page. That thing is definitely huge.
Also chapter 659 first page after the cover we actually see it's more than just one volcano. No matter how you cut it, it's a volcanic landscape alright.

I never said that the climate wouldn't change irreparably. What I'm saying is that the level to which it changed is a far more extreme degree than what would usually happen under the circumstances you propose.
A landmass just doesn't keep on burning for 2 years straight with no signs of being extinguished at all. It would be burned to crisp leaving behind a wasteland (which might even be fertile ground after two years). But that's not what the fire side of Punk Hazard is. The flames are still burning strong, which makes no sense whatsoever if we apply the explenation you propose. That is why I think Awakening shenanigans are a valid explenation of what's going on there.

And that volcano couldn't have been there before Akainu and Aokiji's fight? Do we know what PH looked like before this and do we have confimation there was no volcano there already? Seriously asking here because if there was a pre-existing (sleeping or acitve) volcano already there it will have nothing to do with Akainu. He might have activated it though which would be easily doable with his regular power. I also don't see how creating a volcano would be proof of an awakened logia. There might have been lava underground already and Akainu just forced it up, creating, in fact, a volcano.

Unfortunally I don't remember a clear shot of Punk Hazard before the fight in the manga. I know that there's a shot in the anime but that seems to be a) the ice side of the island (judging by the buildings) and b) it's the anime so it wouldn't mean much. Thing is though if there's sleeping volcanos there then it would have been a poor choice for a battle on equal terms because Akainu would have the advantage there in activating something like that.
I also don't see how creating a volcano would be proof of an awakened logia. There might have been lava underground already and Akainu just forced it up, creating, in fact, a volcano.
I'm not saying it's proof only that it seems kinda related to what I've seen Awakening can do. Remember that with the still limited things we've seen of Awakening it so far strikes as something that amplifiess and/or extends the inherent ability of a Devil Fruit. Doflamingo managed to turn a landmass into string. Kidd managed to magetize Big Mom. And no matter how strong Akainu is, just spamming magma over a landmass for ten day straight might destroy the flora and fauna of an island but it by no means creates a new volcano. He might be able to punch into the ground and have magma come out of different spots in the ground (I don't remember if he ever did something like this in the story itself but some games apply those moves which seems plausible). But that's not equal to creating a real volcano. A thing like that requires much more force of nature to be created over millennia. I nothing we've seen of Sakazuki's ability indicates that the regular ability is that strong. So Awakening is a valid asumption. But not saying it's proof.

Well, for all we know Akainu might have had the advantageous location. He did win afterall. Would it be correct to assume that water might also increase Aokiji's battle power? As seen in Marineford? Because, if so, it is an island and it even has a lake in the middle so both might have had equal amounts of advantages. Akainu might've needed to get Lava from underground, destabilizing the island.
Anyway, lava can be underground anywhere. If Akainu forced it out, it would've perhaps formed a vulcano. I don't see why that has to be an awakening. He could, like I said, also have activated an already existing volcano. I think there's really to little information available to make the assumption it would have been an awakaned devil fruit's effect. And in any case, for what we know of awakenings, none has had this type of effect. Doffy could create a landscap of strings. He had the string string fruit. Katakuri could create a landscape of mochi. He had the mochi mochi fruit. Akainu has the Magma fruit. He can create a landscape of … volcanoes? Seems incorrect to me. If anything, he'd be creating a landscape of magma. Not volcanoes. Because of how logia's work though he can create a landscape of magma without needing any awakening anyway. He has an almost limitless supply of it and can create and use it at will. I don't see what an awakening would add for a logia.

Considering that they are fighting on actual landmass and not on water I fail to see how this is even related to Marinford where water was literally everywhere.

That's the exact point I'm trying to make. His regular magma powers already seem to be able to create only a landscape of magma which Fire Punk Hazard is clearly NOT. As a matter of fact we've not seen any magma at all aside of the occational volcanic eruption and rather fire that just kept on burning for two years straight. Unless I'm mistaken in which case I'm begging for you to enlighten me, ten days exposure of magma cannot do something like that to a landmass. So unless Akainu's DF has more applications than just spraying magma, I would say that creating volcanoes and keeping fire burning on an island is a definite higher level ability of his base magma powers, which from what we know is exactly what DF Awakening seems to be.
Can I prove that the volcanoes were not already there? Of course I can't. But at the same time there's nothing indicating that they were not created by Akainu. I really don't know why people have such a hard time considering the possibility that two of the three strongest Logia users would not be able to actually awaken their ability and that Punk Hazard can be an actual result of that. Especially after Crocodile has shown that there's a limit to basic DF powers back on Arabasta where he pretty much had the field advantage.

I know this is perhaps a weak argument but it is not possible to apply real world physics on One Piece. What you are saying is all true in reality but in One Piece it'd be, according to me, 100% plausible that some crazy powerful guys can litterly change the landscape and climate of an island, certainly when they have the powers that Akainu and Aokiji have without ANY addition to their power in the form of an awakening. Volcanoes, fires that burn for 2 years straight or everlasting ice age conditions included. Except of course if the powers that we have seen from the admirals was always awakened already, which could be the case but in that case I'd ask what makes their "awakened" fruits awakened and different from let's say Enel, Caribou or Crocodile?
If their devil fruits are in fact awakened, why not use this advantages when fighting the strongest man in the world at that time? If you're going to be pulling out all the stops, seems to me that'd be the top moment to do so. Or did they (Akainu and Aokiji) suddenly, during their bout both awaken their fruits? Possible of course but unlikely.
in that case I'd ask what makes their "awakened" fruits awakened and different from let's say Enel, Caribou or Crocodile?

I would say precisely the fact that they were able to permanently alter an island. Crocodile's powers may have been responsible for the drought that plagued Alabasta, but the minute he was vanquished rain came back. Whereas I would like to believe nothing can revert Punk Hazard to its former state as a barren isle. Flames didn't go out over 2 years, ice didn't melt, it keeps snowing… Also remember that glimpse we got at the beginning of the new world, of an island caught in what seemed to be a permanent thunderstorm ? I think it was Kidd who went there, there was an old person selling umbrellas if I remember correctly. Well, Enel couldn't do that. He was able to creater any amount of lightning and huge clouds and strike anywhere, but as far as we know he did not have the ability to make a place subject to a storm that goes on forever. That's what awakening does I would say, and it's possible other users of his logia have had this ability in the past, resulting in said island.
As for why Akainu or Kuzan didn't use awakening during Marineford, I would say either because Oda didn't want to show his full hand too early. Or, as many aspects of haki and powers in One Piece, he didn't have it as well thought out as we tend to believe and left clues here and there just so stuff could be referred to later on. It's possible we're trying to put together a puzzle that was never meant to be in the first place.
For in-story reasons you can say it's taxing and they didn't want to tire themselves, you can say they were trying to limit collateral damage and didn't go all out, maybe being able to permanently alter a place isn't such an advantage in the middle of battle when you can already produce a limitless amount of your element. Can you imagine the face of fleet admiral Kong if some mook reports that "sorry sir, we'll have to move headquarters again, admiral Sakazuki turned the place into a volcano again…"
I always sorta assumed that punk hazards nature was altered by awakened logia powers.

If you don't want to apply real world physics that you shouldn't be riding the wave of Razh's argument because from how I've been reading Razh's argumetn so far, the argument that ten day exposure to the insane cold respectively heat Aokiji and Akainu create can mess with a locations climate bit time pretty much IS based on real world physics. I have no problems with either take but cut me some slack and at least be consistent and the arguments. Otherwise it feels like switching arguments randomly just for the sake of having it your way.
That being said, I would actually say that you're not making a weak argument. We cannot fully apply real world physics to One Piece. However that doesn't mean that we should not take it into consideration to a certain degree. Because every fictional story is grounded in reality and then depending of what kind of fictional world it creates take big liberties when adding the fantastic into it. One Piece with its sometimes crazy asspull moments still seems to keep things like this on a well balanced level I would say. Which is why I base my personal interpretation of the entire situation that creating volcanoes and 2 years burning flames is something that goes above the regular powers of Akainus ability.
If their devil fruits are in fact awakened, why not use this advantages when fighting the strongest man in the world at that time? If you're going to be pulling out all the stops, seems to me that'd be the top moment to do so. Or did they suddenly, during their bout both awaken their fruits? Possible of course but unlikely.
Oh, I can give you several reasons why they wouldn't use it:
1. It was a hometurf war at Marine HQ. Even if the Marines consider the possible destruction that a battle with the worlds strongest man would have, I'm sure that they had an outcome in mind where they could still use the island and it's facilities afterwards. Having Aokiji and Akainu go wild as they did on Punk Hazard clearly would have rendered Marineford unusable. Not a good outcome both in terms of resource managment and giving off an image of strengh to the world.
2. On Punk Hazard it was a 1 vs 1 while on Marineford it was pretty much two armies fighting each other. If the idea is to go that batshit crazy and mess up the entire islands climate they would have pretty much not only killed every random weak pirate but the vast majority of Marines, broadcast live for the whole wide world to see. Again not good neither in terms of resource managment nor for the publich image. In that case rather have only the three admirals take on the invaders.
3. Even if we'd say that points 1 and 2 don't matter and a worthy price to pay to take down Whitebeard, it would be a bad idea because Kuzans and Sakazuki's powers are opposite to each other. If your opponent is having magma powers then the best ability you want to have to deal with it is ice powers and vice versa. But if you want magma and ice to team up to defeat the worlds strongest man, then you can't have both you as batshit crazy as in Punk Hazard because they would literally be cancelling each other out and thus rather help Whitebeard instead of weaken him. That's pretty bad usage of two thirds of the Marines strongest military power, which is why they rather stick to concentrated attacks (which are still huge and devastating mind you) and don't cancel each other out.
4. Oda simply might not have Awakening powers figured out that much at that point in time. I do think though that 1-3 make more sense.
They are most likely awakened users of their devil fruit before they become admirals.
Maybe there is a difference with 1v1 and large scale battle.
I would like to believe that a complete unleashing of their powers may harm their fellow marines and the HQ.
And so they fought with restraint to prevent friendly fire.
A 1v1 fight to the death allows them to fully unleash their powers without care about the repercussion or the destructive aftermath.
Magma is molten rock; which is hotter than the fire we use daily (magna can be up to 2400°C [around 4400°F])
HOWEVER if we go full science on their powers Akainu will never be Ace match.
This is because man-made flame can go as high as 6000°C
Our Earth's core temperature is about 6000°C and our Sun (a flaming ball) is around 15000000°C.
So flame actually wins lava.
Germa Sanji doesn't need to counter, since he's essentially indestructible.
His Germa siblings didn't seem so indestructible against BM pirates
He got lucky Queen shot himself with freaking rockets and escaped that pulverizing dino crush
And in this chapter he got lucky yet again that Queen got distracted by a geisha .
Sanji’s recovery seems like it’s on a completely different level compared to the Germa kids. Reiju got shot and needed real time to recover. Yonji was disfigured by Sanji and needed outside means to shape his head properly. Ichiji was just shown at the mercy of Matakuri while caught in his clutches. Niji grabbed his neck and snapped it in place manually. The way Sanji took the sword and snapped the bones back together seems like it’s something it’s on another level. Stupid exoskeleton looks too powerful at the moment!
Zoro’s fight must conclude that Sanji is Lunarian and that a means of taking down a body like that is doable and reliable without haxed wizard tricks!
It's ok, sanji is just the jozu or marco of the crew. And he still took damage from that yonji Like attack. Sanji is more defense based Like marco and jozu, and You got Zoro and yamato that will be more attacks based Like ace and Vista.
Foolish mortals, no one can hurt Vinsmoke Sanji.
Drop a piano on him and it just slides off.
Orochi is slacking. Queen is running away with best character of this arc. There' never been an MVP like this. No disrespect to Brook in WCI or Akainu in MF arc. Queen has been able to balance his pursuit of outdoing Judge, making sure these broads are punished for trying him, and having the best reactions in the story. The top must be kinda lonely.
Wow, over a month for the forum to come back.
And it seems I'm the first one.
Why do those downtimes occur?
I've been lurking like 10 minutes I just assumed there was a problem posting since no one else was posting
did someone post a google image again

I've been checking if the forum was back from time to time. I was about to go to bed when I decided to try again, and lo, here it was.
I missed this place. I wonder how some people have been faring.
Wow, we're back. Honestly thought the forums were down for good since it's been almost tro months.
Welcome back AP! Hopefully no more down times.
Man the new chapter is crazyyy! Big mom has to be down for the count for sure. Kaidou going down soon that means.
Aaah that was a long downtime. It was starting to feel like the forum would never come back, I was really missing it.
Is someone going to take the initiative to make a thread for the current chapter, or are we just going to wait considering there's a new one dropping in like 12 hours anyway?
Welcome back, AP!

Someone's been repeatedly filing DMCA claims. Don't know the details beyond that, but they take a while to resolve.

Quite a few of us have been hanging out on the AP discord channel. It's no substitute for the forums, but it's decent enough and the admins have been keeping us updated on the situation. Might consider joining, as a backup.
Yes the discord helps to keep in touch with the community especiaaly for long shutdown like this one
It also tells you when it is back :-)
And we share sick memes down there
I'm just saying, it would probably help to actually make server info visible instead of just mentioning it exists.

I only kept hope it would return because it never returned a "Page 404 - Not found", "Domain available", or "DNS request failed" messages. Instead, the forums just failed to load. That made me keep believing it was just another downtime rather than the true end of Arlong Park Forums.
Must have checked by habit every day, lol.
We're back bitches!
So glad the forums are back!
Ha, this is like a little time capsule showing how long this forum was out. We've moved from a man who never beats a women to two guys who are all like "hey, let's beat this woman!" What a time.
yooooo it's back

I must admit I didn't even think that far.^^'
