The primary election was to determine who would be running as a Republican for Cawthorn's seat in the House of Representatives. Cawthorn lost and, surprisingly for a Trumplican, conceded, so he's out of the race. No matter what happens now, Cawthorn is out in January.
A Republican may still hold that seat, but that Republican won't be Madison Cawthorn.
