Well, well, well.

Guess its time to start theorizing about what will happen.

It has to be something monumental and potentially story altering.

First Theory: Reveal of Gear 5 or Luffy does an initial Curbstomp of Kaidou.

Second Theory: We get a huge reveal in regards to the One Piece world, maybe Something to do with the Void Century.

Third Theory: Luffy Awakens his fruit.

Fourth Theory: We learn about the origins of Devil Fruits/what exactly they are.

Last Theory: A major character dies, probably one of the Warlords, or is heavily injured.

you know, I kinda just stay out of this one because every chapter since the invasion of Onigashima it's been pure fire to me.

so whatever happens in chapter 1000, I feel like everyone is going to take their own interpretations, I mean, if Yamato had been introduced in chapter 1000 then it would be the "oh yess, this is the great event Oda's been saving it for the 1000 chap", and in the other side you'd have people claiming that's just the natural course of things.

imo, every single chapter of this countdown will all be equally amazing.

Chapter 1000 could be : an important Character introduction, my guess either Rock D Xebec revealed from Kaidou’s past

I usually don't think too much about milestone chapters, we have random big reveals all the time after all.

But the 1000? It would make sense to allign an extraordinary event with it, if only because everyone is expecting something. You can't just deliver a chapter like 990, for example.

Personally I expect [999/1000] or [1000/1001] to include a colorspread depicting the Straw Hat Pirates vs. the Beast Pirates, similiar to the Baroque Works & CP9 covers. 10 Chapters is more than enough time to reach the 1 vs. 1 (or tagteam) component of the Wano war, especially when we consider how fast Oda is wrapping things up right now.

The Straw Hats fighting an Emperor at eye level after a journey spanning 1000 chapters. They are officially "great pirates" now. That would be good enough for me.

(So this would mean the next volume cover is dedicated to the Beast Pirate commanders and the one after to the Straw Hats (1-10).

We will sooner or later learn what happened to the Warlords, but we are in the middle of the war right now. I just can't see Oda switching to other things during the climax of Wano.
Yes, he bounces around a lot and the cliffhanger of today could very well be resolved in two months instead of next week, but I can't remember him doing drastic scenery changes during the endgame encounters of big arcs.

What I want the most is extra pages.

The first chapter after the timeskip (598) had 25 pages, I think, so it's a good number to aim. A double chapter would take me to heaven, but I doubt Oda can do it.

I’m sure there will be a pause between acts. And it will be after a cliffhanger to boot.
Wothout it, the act structure makes no sense.

The real fights only start in act 4, thought. Until then, it’s all buildup.

I think it doesn’t make sense with the traditional 3-act structure. By it, the third act is shorter that the second, and includes the conclusion. It doesn’t feel like Wano is 80%+ done at this point.

Well I can actually figure a break after a huge plot twist in middle of battle. I once supposed a raid from the mysterious SSG force, which could lead to an interlude where we'd just dig about it, revealing Vegapunk (while the whole Shichibukai and Hancock situation would be dealt with after Wano, bringing to the new arc).

Oda did say we'd have some update with Sabo, Vivi and Hancock in 2020, so I assume he was talking about Act 3/4 Intermission, since no way Wano would be over in 2020, even without a pandemic.

Nah, is not neccesary to give anyone else chepter 1000, since that's the one chapter the countdown is being done for.

And we're most likely already getting a gorgeous colorspread.
