There are villains that you want to see go down because they are good at their role and others because you just find that they bring down the story and that hopefully their defeat will move things along. Number 9 is the latter for me. Sadly he is there for the long haul and that is a shame.

I think Monster 9 does actually a good job as a villain you want to see get brought down. I doubt that he'll be the most memobarble villain we will ever have as the series goes on.

I guess they both work but Hoshina makes me think of levi more. He even double blades.

The thing is though that Hoshina and Narumi have a personality and their own character quirks, whereas Levi is the classic cool guy definined by being an uncharismatic bore.

That face off spread gave me some serious Tokyo Revengers vibes. I like how Narumi at the current situation of things still deems it necessary to gather a couple of subordinates (most likely buffoons like himself) to defend their marked territory. And in the same manner I liked how Hoshina himself didn't come buy himself to report but also took a few idiots with him. Love bith those guys and seeing them face off like this is pure fanservice to me, which I am grateful for.
Also like Ashiro's jab at Narumi and his immediate reaction to it.

Yeah, same. I'll at least acknowledge that using frost to gain footing on walls is interesting, but other than that this is me unimpressed. Not the powerhouse I was expecting after last week's chapter, the suit pales in comparison to the chief's gauntlets. :sad:

Elemental powers have been used since the dawn of time. There are so many options out there and the author went with a very safe one.

It's just…A shift in tone ? So far the series has been about super-heavy ranged weapons, huge percussion impacts, giant axes or crazy swordmanship in melee. Freezing monsters in their track, while admittedly new to the series and a feat of strength, sounds a little tame in comparison.

I really like these side characters getting a bit of fleshing out. That sense of big fish in a small pond coming to understand the scope of the real world was pretty well done for a half-chapter exposition piece.
