I have been mulling over a new Survivor game for about a year now, and I figured why not take the plunge and see if this can work out.
If you are not familiar with the concept of Survivor, the game is based off of the TV show of the same name in which the players are split into two tribes and compete against each for rewards as well as immunity. After these competitions, the losing tribe votes off one of their own. The game continues under this format, with various twists and turns along the way, until the "Sole Survivor" is crowned. A key aspect of these games to enhance competitive balance as well as entertainment is that it is played on a separate forum site under the alias of One Piece characters. If you have played Survivor before, you may remember that our previous host, ZetaBoards, is now gone. However, I have found a different board hosting service which has many of the same features and should allow the game to be played the same way it was before.
Timeframe: The game will start whenever we have enough players! Once the game does commence, it will run for about 45 days, although only a select few players last for all 45. There may also be occasional breaks, so expect it to last about two months overall.
Time Commitment: I will be fashioning this game so that the required time commitment for competitions is only an hour at most, and offering the flexibility of completing them on your own schedule. There will be a few exceptions to this, particularly later on in the game. However, keep in mind that the game by design gives a great advantage to players who are consistently active. Additionally, several of the competitions are team-based ones which require some or all of your tribe to be online at or around the same time, so flexibility on your end may be necessary at times.
This game will need 16 players to be played, though I may be able to run it with slightly fewer. To sign up, simply express your intention to play on this thread or PM me about it. I will share more details regarding the new board and the roleplay aspect should this gain sufficient traction.
