I never got into the whole Five Nights At Freddy's craze, even at it's peak, but watching this video is absolutely fucking horrifying. Fuck Scott Cawthon and fuck anyone who still supports him after this.

Haven't watched the video yet and not a fan of FNAF but I've always seen piracy as a legitimate form of protest.
-
Even though I wasn't a big FNAF fan, I was the kind of person who argued the scares didn't come from cheap jump scares (except for the hallucinations in, I think it was, three) but from the tension of trying so hard to prevent the jump scares from happening. I always felt Cawthon was a decent enough guy what with using his criticisms of older games to create FNAF that he deserved to have his work defended like that.
So much for that mindset.

Not a super controversial take on a One Piece forum

Nah, that is just pirate hypocricy, he wants to play, but still feel morally superior.

Eh, it's the opposite.
I'm really not that interested in playing the FNAF games but I find piracy to be the most reliable form of game preservation that we currently have, so I like to remind people when it's appropriate that rich people don't just inherently deserve our money and piracy is not actual theft.
Of course, if you play a game and like it, it's only natural to want to support the creator and the series, but there are sometimes good reasons to fight that instinct and this is one of them.

Linkara tackles Batman v. Superman.
Three part vid, so it's going to be about an hour and a half.

Having finally gotten a chance to watch Sterling's video, I feel the need to condemn any doxxing attempts made against him.
The doxxing of private citizens is always bad, period. -

Linkara reviews Batman Hush Storyline
-
Not a review or a joke but the ACTUAL thing that's been happening to SF debris lately.
It caused him to take his first actual break from making videos for the first time in a decade. he's taken a week here or there, and had medical issues, but he's always kept trooping and producing. This actually made him full out stop for a bit.
His exasperation about his insane house is… something.

who is linkara and why should i care about their opinion
He's a comic book reviewer who's been in the business for over ten years now. From what I've seen of him, he seems to be a very professional and cordial guy, though I personally feel his humor can be a bit dorky. He's clearly very passionate about his work as he puts out a video every week while occasionally filming segments for an overarching story in his videos.
As with many online reviewers, your mileage may vary, but if you're interested in comic book reviews I'd say he's worth a look.

who is linkara and why should i care about their opinion
He's the host of Atop the Fourth Wall, where bad comics burn. Linkara teach lessons you won't learn. Anyone who's had a bad comic published, it could be their turn.
He is a man that wears a purdy hat, and has a magic gun; where'd he purchase that?
Ahem.
He's one of the longtimers from the Channel Awesome days, along with Lindsay and Todd, he covers comics. Like 12 years of material now.
He also does things like History of the Power Rangers which is… very extensive.
He's a geek but he's nice and he's passionate, and consistent, and he's generally one of the centerpoint all the old school reviewers have since it came out that Doug Walker and crew wee shitheads, and everyone left that site.
That he's the one that's been reposted multiple times on this page, rather than any other given reviewer, that he's one of the ones that made it into the thread title change as prominent, should reflect at least a little bit his output and that people think the topics he covers are interesting.

He's also the Lightbringer.
And apparently, not a big fan of that impression, despite how much love is put into it. Even Doug and ChrisChan get a laugh out of em. To each their own I spose.

It's kind of funny how back when they were still part of TGWTG/Channel Awesome, I never really paid much mind to Lindsay or Linkara, yet nowadays they're among the very few people from there whom I still watch. Well… Lindsay more than Linkara though. Linkara just doesn't actually cover that much material that personally interests me.
(I also still watch Suede's Pokémon reviews. Though he hasn't put out a new one in a good while from what I've seen...)
-
Linkara was that guy you would maybe consider watching if Spoony hadn't done something lately
-
I'm not a big fan of Linkara but he's the one that's stood the test of time as an actually good guy and his output is constant enough that he does topics I'm interested in ocassionally.
Other reviews I like more, to be sure.
(I also still watch Suede's Pokémon reviews. Though he hasn't put out a new one in a good while from what I've seen…)
In his last update he said he was going through some emotion brain stuff (ADHD?) that was getting in the way of working and that was causing issues.
-
I used to follow Linkara (and most of the CA crew) pretty regularly 7-odd years ago. Nowadays I just check in on him now and again to see if he's reviewed anything I'm interested in.
His review style is fine, but not super engaging to me. And I don't know if it's him or just the comic medium, but I find his reviews of stories I'm not familiar with kind of hard to follow.

CW: harassment, sexual abuse, suicide.
Between Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot and his extended family spending years protecting rapists and sexual abusers within the company and now this fucking horrifying news detailed in this video about what Activision Blizzard allowed in their "Frat Boy Culture" workplace, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the AAA videogame industry is well and truly rotten to the fucking core.
-
Jim Stephanie is so, so tired in this video. Not putting on a character or performance at all with teh usual costume and makeup and music. Just… tired.
And rightly so.

So, I hadn't realized that Film Theory/Game Theory had spun off into their third channel, FOOD Theory. Like, a year ago. But this video caught my attention.
you don't need to watch this entire video (it's 20 minutes long!) but basically, the order you stack toppings on your burger (and presumably sandwich) makes a huuuuuge difference, even if you're using the same ingredients on both.
I was skeptical. Stacking order making a difference for stability or sogginess makes sense, I've always had a preferred order mostly for holding toppings down, e but I tested it myself with the two topping orders that sounded like the best overall reactions, and I was amazed at how different they tasted. Something about which ingredient hits your tongue first, and separating specific flavors so they stay separate or blended tastes. It's crazy.
My experience[hide]
The two orders I tried are
GORDON RAMSEY
Mayo (on bun)
Lettuce
Tomato
Mayo (just a bit more)
Patty
Cheese
Pickles
Onions
Ketchup (on bun)
SPONGEBOB
Patty
Lettuce
Cheese
Tomato
Ketchup
Mayo
Pickles
OnionsThe Ramsey one tasted juicier and the veggies were a lot stronger, while the Spongebob the patty stood out the most, and the sandwich scrunched down better into a solid whole. It made a surprising difference! And apparently putting lettuce between the meet and the cheese helps the cheese to stand out more instead of just getting lost.
The Ramsey one wasn't supposed to have pickles, and you're also supposed to fry the onions and toast the bread, but for the base taste test comparison I (and the video) wanted to keep stuff the same. (I also left the onions off mine.)
The video had five different order combos like the Whopper, but I wasn't about to make and try five different burgers in one sitting. One of them they said just tasted like bread and I wasn't inclined to try it.[/hide]

Wooo! SF Debris is FINALLY doing the Beast Wars episodes I donated for FOUR YEARS ago. Man that guy's backlog list is long.
I actually donated for a whole bunch of episodes including most of season three, and he's just doing the Agenda three parter this week, hopefully he does season three soon!

So the almighty algorithm threw this youtuber at me. He's ostensibly a fantasy novel reviewer, but he is a HUGE Wheel of Time fan, and he's doing a ton of videos about that in prep for the upcoming show.
But we have a Wheel of Time thread. What might interest folks here is that this complete fantasy novel fan, has also recently started… reading One Piece.
Back in April he was like "yeah, this is pretty good. Just get the digital copies though, its too long for anyone to get all of." And by September he has like the first 8 omnibuses prominently displayed on his shelf and has a Chopper hat and Luffy hat for doing videos. Its great to see. (He just got past the timeskip and Fishman Island.) I've watched a bunch of his videos the last few days, he's pretty entertaining!
-
Make sure to check out Merphy Napier. She's almost in the exact same position as him and fell even harder for our favorite pirates.
-
Started watching his videos and, yeah, it really is fun to watch him steadily discover the world of One Piece and grow to love the characters, just as we all have. And the criticisms he does have towards the series are generally pretty fair.
Always great to have another one join the flock.
-
Make sure to check out Merphy Napier. She's almost in the exact same position as him and fell even harder for our favorite pirates.
She also demonstrated a level of insight into the themes of Fishman Island that were kind of amazing for a first-time reader. Like, I guess being that she typically deals in novels she might just be more primed to think about themes and such from the get-go, but whereas I understand Not-Dan Green there had the fairly standard reaction of "Yeah Fishman Island is kinda weak tbh," Merphy's review of it was practically glowing (except when talking about Sanji because Sanji was the worst in FI) and she raised a lot of good points about how thematically strong the arc was.
And yeah, it's funny that they are conveniently at almost the exact same spot. Merphy put out her Punk Hazard review just yesterday. -

Daniel Greene
This guy reviewed Dressrossa 5 days ago and even though he says it's flawed, he says it's his favorite arc in One Piece so far. This from a guy who around Marineford and Enies Lobby was saying that One Piece was on the level of the fantasy greats.
-
Honestly, I was kind of surprised how much he loved it. Really does make me wonder if One Piece is just better as a binge-read series.
In other news, Todd released a 43 minute review of Edgar Winter's Mission Earth, which is a fun watch if you want to have a laugh at Scientology's expense (which, just so we're clear, is still a total crackpot/scam religion).
