So distracted by real life now and all the "happenings" now. @_@

That was awesome. Page One and Ulti took a hit but are far from out of commission, so anyone who thought they were out for the rest of the arc prove they still don't understand how Oda writes. Ancient Zoans are being paid nice respect. Enjoyed the action between Luffy and Yamato, and how Yamato simply blocking keeps up with G2/G3 Luffy without a sweat. I will always gladly take strong (biological) female characters in One Piece, and this one's quite the heavyhitter. The Robin gag was legit hilarious. The Kaido crew mobilizing spread reminds me of the absolute best spreads from pre-ts. I was doing a "points off if the chapter didn't feel substantial enough so close to 1000" thing, this chapter gets none off. 9/10

I just remember that there was a huge discussion if Zoro lost an arm during the TS. That very 1st colorspread after the 4 week-break was to blame for that though.

That first photo of Zoro after the time skip was something else. One arm and one eye. Even after the arm was cleared up people were convinced Zoro would loose depth perception and actually end up a worse swordsmen than before.

Did Luffy's apparent interest that Oden had a journal seem a bit out of character to anybody else, obvs I know he wouldn't dare peek in it as he got furious when Usopp asked Rayleigh about One Piece.

Would be a great twist that Kaidou actually knows about the journal but feels too proud to actually refer to it, and is only keeping Yamato close to not let the journal fall into other's hands.

I feel like someone had a big visual guide to all the named enemies and allies involved with the arc. I’d love to find that and guesstimate more matchups. As usual though I hope it’s the StraW Hats that have the biggest impact on the entire battle.
I’d love it even further if Sanji, Jimbei and Zoro take out a Calamity each but only after the Calamity seemingly falls against a “better” opponent. Cat, Dog getting the best of Jack, Marco getting the best of King and maybe ??? gets the best of Queen only for them to regenerate later and then wiping the floor with their exhausted opponent.

Just this chapter we were reminded at how these ancient Zoans can get back up like darn near nothing happened. When it happens at the absolute worst moment the war is going to feel nearly lost. I’m counting on it but really wishing that it’s the Straw Hatz that come in and finish off what even fighters who are perceived to be better could not do.
Once we get another bounty reveal I’ll probably bring this next point up in the latest bounty thread but should something like this happen then maybe new bounties reflect the fact that the Straw Hat didn’t technically defeat such a high bounty opponent all on their own.

Ancient Zoans have ultra durability, maybe they're all Awakened in the way the Impel Down guards were? Would it be too much to have all Flying Six and above Zoans Awakened? 'Cause their regeneration seems to be incredibly fast. I personally can't wait to see these Zoans impaling some dudes, Oda loves his gore.

And oh lord you just reminded me that we haven't seen King's bounty yet. o_o The implications that has for the length of Wano arc is just… wow. I'm a happy camper though because I wanted this to be the longest arc yet.

The fake spoiler was saying that thanks to Ivankov's hormones,Luffy survived to Magellan's poison,but as a collateral effect..he became a woman! There was even a fake drawning of the scene. I would have loved a twist like that to be honest �� i was even ready to accept Sanji okama when the cover story with him becoming okama happened. I was sad that he came back to his usual form immediately and with no explanation ��

That was a fun April Fools joke. I'm glad I was a part of that madness.

I was thinking about who could be the dog, if Luffy is the monkey and Marco is the pheasant. Maybe Yamato is the dog. Then as I tried to think of a Zoan dog related fruit, I remembered his face. The eyebrows, head shape, and mouth reminds me of another dog themed character named Inuyasha.

I'm currently in this rabbit hole of Yaksha, dog yokai, and Prince Yamato Takeru. Oda can do a lot with Yamato's hair as he transforms, if he has a DF ability

Edit: Or the dog is just Kinemon.

2nd edit: The Inu Inu leads with 6 DF. 2 revealed in this arc already. Might have to call it, unless Oda spams another dog type user

Kiku has only really stated to be a 'woman at heart'. That's no real confirmation or denial and could be interpreted either way. Either 'Yes, I am a man, but I am a woman at heart' or 'I may have a penis, but I'm a woman at heart' For all we know, he's not denying his biological gender/sex. As far as I'm aware, Kiku also uses the male version of 'I' (sessha, which is less common for females to use than 'ore', like Big Mom does). I'd say, considering Izo was clearly stated to be male as well, I wouldn't get my hopes up about Kiku being trans.

Just to cause trouble, I'll point out Tama has the ability to create kibi dango and tame animals, similar to Momotaro. She already has a komainu named Komachiyo, tamed the giant baboon Hihimaru, and these komatori exist.

My favorite part of this chapter is that Yamato's horn reveal leaves open at least the vague possibility of the theory that Kaido is originally a dragon who ate some type of human fruit.

Not that I think it's a super likely thing, but it would be so, so great if it happened. And yes, I realize that the kids Big Mom had with him make it that much more unlikely. But I just have a dream, and One Piece is all about dreams, right?

There's several characters with seemingly real horns though, including Black Maria. They can't have all eaten a Human DF.

Dreams. He is a very likely candidate to have fathered a couple of them, but there hasn't been any official confirmation so far (not in the manga at least. Maybe a SBS will brush the subject eventually if it hasn't already, but I'm not up to date on these)

Random Comment, but I like how resilient Page 1 and Ulti are being built up as and what that means for the rest of the headliners and the fights we'll get. It also means that Sanji isn't weak for not taking out Page 1 in one hit and that Nekomamushi and Inuarushi's threat about their strength under a full moon is becoming more and more interesting.

There are confirmed half-giants like Wotans, and I see no reason that there can't be half-dragons, especially thanks to Kaido himself having a human form. I'm not suggesting Yamato also ate a human fruit, I'm suggesting that Yamato could be a half-dragon retaining mostly human features.

Again, not saying any of this is "likely", I just like it feeling possible.

I imagine the snow and the weather overall is probably going to prevent the Minks from using their Sulong forms for a while, but it's been built up too much to be discarded completely.

The weather suddenly clearing (possibly with Nami's "encouragement") will probably be used as a major turning point in late in the battle.

I personally think it's unlikely. Big Mom was 20 when she had them, so if Kaido were the father he'd have to be her age or older to avoid being squicky. We don't know Kaido's age, but considering he was an apprentice with Rocks and the way he's referred to Big Mom as an old hag I'd personally guess that he's around a decade younger than her.

I haven't been commenting as much I as I'd like to lately, but I've really been loving basically everything since we've gotten to Onigashima. In particular, all of the new characters are immediately likable and interesting to me (except maybe Sasaki, who's still "okay"), which is a huge contrast to the start of Wano where everyone took dozens of chapters for me to warm up to, and even then I like Ulti more than everyone except maybe Orochi.

Highlight of the chapter was Robin and Jinbei though. He already fits with the crew perfectly.

And this will create a CLASH between Kaidou and Big Mom trying to protect her that maybe will kill both.
