Some of my personal snippets and things I tabbed to save and remember about:

Famicon Detective Clubs seem like something I'll eat up depending on the prices, if not wait for sales. Hadn't heard of them before, but it's hitting all the right notes for me.

Worlds End Club has me torn. I feel almost obligated to get it cause of the DR and ZE, but the sidescrolling gameplay parts have me on the fence.

I never got around to playing Octopath, but Triangle Strategy looks more interesting. I'll have to try to remember it for when it's actual name gets decided, otherwise I might miss it.

Never played Saga Frontier or Legend of Mana, so those might be pick-ups until I hear about everything wrong with these ports.

I never got around to playing Skyward Sword and the overly negative responses towards it have kept it off my to-do list, but maybe no motion controls could get me to finally play it.

I don't play Splatoon, but I'm always interested in the lore so I'll be interested to see what they go with for the new singers in Splatoon 3.

Mario Golf is the one mario sport I was never really into growing up. The baseball and Tennis ones were more my jam. There was some glimpses of power-ups thrown in, so I'll wait and see how those look. But really, I'm not gonna play online and the mii usage is a turnoff for me, so I probably won't bother.

The thing Splatoon 3 most needs is functional online infrastructure/netcode. That's stopping most of my excitement, so right now I see it as a potentially fun but short single-player game with some new mechanics. This coming from someone who put hundreds of hours into both previous Splatoon games, but I finally had enough after getting into competently-coded online games like Overwatch and realizing I don't have to settle for my opponents dying 3 seconds after I shot them.

Missed the initial showcase due to the wifi being down but caught it today, let's see

Never played Xenoblade so was just meh on the Pyra/Mythril Smash reveal. But hey congrats for fans of that game.

Hey another Samurai Warriors game, neat
A Legends of Mana port. Huh actually wanted to try out this game. Might give it a look.
More Monster Hunter Rise, never played but looks good.
Mario Golf Super Rush. Didn't Aqua Teens do something like this for their game just without the multiplayer? Still, I'm up for some chaotic putt putt. Also couldn't help but laugh at Peach prancing. Just wow.
Some more ports. Always down for Capcom Classic. Tales of Borderland, yeah that was one of the better Telltale games, so thats cool I can own if physical now. Surprised Stubbs is getting a re-release, that's an XBox throwback.
While I'm happy NMH III has a release date, was kinda hoping for a new trailer then just a passing glance. Still looks as gonzo as ever and it coming out on the eve of my B-Day too. Squee
Neon White. Superhot meets Jumping Jack Flash to me. Looks interesting but still need more info on it.
DC Superhero Girls. Well one, congrats to Lauren Faust on one of her works getting a video game after MLP FiM got snubbed for one. but still boggles me this got a spotlight. Looks pretty cheaply made though, and going for a …Persona lite feel. Hmm.
More ports. Plants vs Zombies and Miitopia. And DLC content for Animal Crossing. Eh.
Triangle Strategy. Tactical RPGs aren't my thing but a good art style though.
Star Wars Hunter, if it don't have gameplay I don't care. Knockout City (sees it's EA, -shudders-). Cute trailer but looks as cookie cutter as any other online multiplayer (And pet peeve, can we please stop with the "Don't wanna be a princess waiting to be rescued" thing. That has become a cliche in itself nowadays and every time it's said out loud I can't help but groan. Your a kick butt princess, fine, now stop acting like your a fresh take. No one cares anymore. Even Mario has noted how outdated that's getting and mostly just does it ironically for the sake of a plot).
World's End Club. Heh from the team of Dangaropa you say. Love how they admit off the bat "Nope, this ain't some DP retread" and heck I don't mind some scrolling either, Looking forward to what oddball tale they got going this time.
Hades and Ninja Gaidan ports. Yay!
Age of Calamity DLC, uh more story. Alright I guess, this isn't going to become a Dead Space 3 thing with the plot is it?
Bravely Default 2 good good. Ghost and Goblins remake....(Relives nightmares of the original games) G-Good I guess ^^; SaGa Frontier, never played the original but glad were getting more Square re-releases. Apex Legends, never played, likely won't.
Well nice of them to admit they don't have anything yet for BoTW 2, understandable given the state of things. But the Skyward Sword HD port is a nice surprise, even moreso that you can play it normally. I am concerned if this'll affect the stick given the "drift" controversies . But here's hoping it won't be too taxing.
Splatoon 3, follow it but only played on kiosk so far. Didn't think they'd release it on the same game generation but here we are. Noticed they glimming a bit from Forenight with the "choose where you wanna drop before the match" thing. Will certainly be keeping an eye on this.

Overall not bad, nice to have them back after all the mini and indie showcases.

Famicom Detective Club was a nice surprise. The only acknowledgement the series ever had in the west was a trophy in Melee, a sticker in Brawl and a costume in Mario Maker 1, so hopefully this is a good sign for other unreleased Nintendo games (Starfy, Mother 3, For The Frog The Bell Tolls, X, Tomato Adventure, Sutte Hakkun etc…)

Well it wasn't all that long ago they had to restart development from scratch….......and then of course shit went down for much of the last year.

Also, Nintendo is the only developer I know of that has been so disrupted by COVID, to the point where it's hard to conclude anything outside of incompetence. Most other companies seem at worst unaffected, at best going stronger than ever due to all the bored people sitting at home with nothing to do.

It's been well documented that many Japanese companies have been hit hard by the pandemic because the country as a whole doesn't have much WFM infrastructure in place compared to the west. Just seems pretty clear to me that Nintendo's strategy now is to sit on reveals until they're absolutely sure they can hit a specific release date, compared to the constant stream of delayed PlayStation and Xbox titles lately. I also wouldn't be surprised if they got spooked by that stupid incident when their stock took a significant hit after they publically delayed Animal Crossing at the end of 2019 (and then it turned out to release at the perfect time anyway…).

I'm sure Japan is worse at it than elsewhere, but overall Sony has been doing a much better job. And I guess I don't know about every game company or anything but the ones I do know of have had virtually zero slowdown due to the pandemic. Much like my company (not a game company, but a software company).

Facts. I'm waiting on Halo Infinite, no point right now in me buying the new Xbox. Sure, the Game Pass is great, but I have barely enough time for games right now as it is. At least w/ Halo Infinite, I'll be more excited to play that and Xbox exclusives/multi-platform games.

What was it?

I watched it today and didn't catch that, unless it was the "your pizza's here" scene from the original.

I get the impression that Lena was originally intended to be Peach, Daisy's mother who betrayed the king and sided with Koopa.
Maybe the dinosaur people didn't slowly evolve into humans and were just rapidly evolved via the machine?
Maybe the original Mushroom King guy was supposed to be the real inventor and Koopa just stole it?

I never thought about it too hard while watching the original, but there's a definite sense that the whole movie takes place in the aftermath of a nuclear war, from the permanently black sky to the city that needs to be heated or else it'll instantly freeze over to Koopa's Tower which clearly had something horrible happen to it.

The last quarter of the movie had massive plot holes and completely new ideas like the Bobomb and portable Super Scope evolution rays just shoved in everywhere, so it's pretty clear that large chunks of the climax were either never filmed or had to be cut and were replaced with poorly written stopgap scenes that were filmed much more cheaply.

Edit: Oh yeah, what in god's name caused them to cut that decently animated stop motion intro sequence and replace it with the legendarily horrible cartoon intro?

Watched the extended cut with my wife because she wanted to watch it. Wow, how do they add 20 mintues to a film and add nothing at all?

It does make you truly appreciate the editing process though where 3 seconds here, 7 seconds there, and a tiny handful of actual scenes that were rightfully cut, can add up to a lot of time when its all said and done without actually losing anything..

It by no means saves the film or makes it substantially better. But a tiny tiny bit better.

The stop motion was stock footage from "The Lost World", a 100 year old film. It was put in by the editors of this cut BECAUSE the cartoon looked so janky, but it was never actually a part of the movie, cut or otherwise.

It was not. The dead giveaway timestamp code was under that part. Maybe it made it to some tv airings? But it was certainly part of the "new" footage.

But wow, they set up that joke, and reiterated it two more times, but then left our the final punchline? That's just weird. I would have just cut all four instances of the joke entirely since it wasn't at all funny.

The dissapointment I had 30 year ago still remains… it seemed so clear they were setting up to turn Koopa into an actual dinos by the end and just... didn't. Maybe it was a budget thing.

Still weirded out about how they looked at the little chestnut minions and decided that Goombas should look like... that. I get it, that it sooort of keeps the silhouette but...

I guess there was a point beyond which the film's producers just stopped caring and wanted to shove the thing out as fast as possible.
Maybe they'd started showing it to test audiences and realized ahead of time that they had a complete bomb on their hands and any more money spent was wasted.

Ironically most of the effects have held up fairly well.
If you compare it to a lot of the popular stuff that came out in the late 90s and early 2000s it still blows them away because of the overuse of mediocre CGI.

They could have hewed far closer to Super Show style without being quite as silly and kiddy.

With the caveat that it obviously needed to be live action so they couldn't just Alice in Wonderland it… Things like the Neverending Story and Labrynth, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or even something like Flash Gordon already existed to show a path for "Ordinary real world guy gets taken into a fantasy land full of puppets and weird things." Ghostbusters or Bill and Ted or Ninja Turtles or Hook existed.

There were plenty of existing templates they could have gone with that could have been much closer to the games tone and visual without being... what the movie was. And without having to be quite as colorful and cartoony as the games.

I mean come on, Yoshi wasn't even GREEN.

Metroid: Dread will be out in freaking October!! First original 2D metroid since Fusion.

The new Dragonball game looks pretty fun too. I haven't played any of the fighter ones in years because they're all the same, but one with exploration and rpg mechanics is cool is cool. Like a 3d version of Legacy of Goku.

These motherfreakers. Last announcement and its Zelda characters and I get hype. It's an expansion for Hyrule Warriors 2...

Ok, I'm Aaron Burr.. Wait for it. He's showing Skyward Sword HD. Hopefully they'll show the BOTW sequel as well.

And its here!! There are freaking islands in the sky and it starts with Link falling from the sky. There are some new powers that seem to let him go through the islands bottoms and come out on top. The graphics aren't better, but it's beautiful. It'll be out in 2022!! The setting includes the skies beyond Hyrule. We still don't have a name for the game, but it looks good to me.

This was not a slam dunk presentation when comparing to the past, but I saw more games I'm going to buy from nintendo this presentation than the rest of E3 combined, so I'm satisfied.

Metroid Dread, well yeah, looks a bit, you know, not thaaat good, but it could proof me wrong.

Wario Ware, yeah okay, good to get one.

BotW as expected in 2022 (mostly by the end) with Link having a new arm with some new powers like reversing time and spitting fire.
Doessn´t look as dark as i hoped for, but beautiful it is.
But can´t imagine much more towns and stuff for this environment, but with all the stuff now in the sky there should hopefully opened a bunch of new dungeons^^

The Franky Tank

Between Metroid and SMT V I am happy with everything. Personally think the new Metroid looks good from the little we saw, but from what I've seen many are thinking it has a similar look to Samus Returns so that is deflating their hype a fair bit. I really liked that game so pretty excited for Dread.

BOTW 2 looks like it will be have some new content and powers, so got my attention a little. If the dungeons and other explorable areas like shrines are more interesting, I'll be invested in getting the game.

Metroid Dread looks great and the few things shown for SMT5 and BOTW2 were good enough for me.

With the expected SSB character announcement to start the presentation, I got what I expected from that direct.

As always, Nintendo is not in the habit of showing many games that are not being released any time soon. Focusing on the ready games and just giving very few future sneak peaks is what I appreciate about Nintendo's way.

Got disappointed too many times with other developers and their way too early announcements just for the E3 hype.

Also, Treehouse live is best E3 content.

Yeah, it's been in Retro's hands for over two years now and we still haven't seen anything, not even a simple trailer. That doesn't seem promising at all. But I'll happily take the long rumored Dread in the meantime

I’m okay with getting a remake of Advance Wars 1&2 but I hope that means with get a fourth game somewhere down the line.

Hope BoTW 2 actually has a story that doesn’t feel “disengaged” from the game, repairable weapons, and gets rid of the stamina system or at least scales it back.
