I love it how well Madhouse are handling the arc's conclusion. Using music fitting the scenes perfectly and an artstyle so much better than Togashi's made for a beautiful episode this week.

Gon sacrificed his nen as part of the contract to become Hair Column Mode, but Nanika only healed his wounds and physical damage (even though nen has a physical phenomenae explanation as well)Silliest solution:

Yes, it would amend the whole Alluka deus-ex-machina a bit, though it still doesnt change the fact, that all the super complicated rules attached to her usage were handwaved, making the whole alluka sub-arc pointless.
And I'm pretty sure that he will find a way to reactivate his aura again, probably with something connected to the DWIs there anyone in Beyond's group on the same level as the Zodiacs?
We dont even know at which level (especially combat wise) the Zodiaks are. Hard to compare them to Beyonds group yet. I think individually Beyond and Ging are stronger then any of the zodiaks, but as a group the zodiaks have more power. But we have not seen enough to say that with certainty

terrible choice of words and grammar
basically trying to add flavour when they really shouldn't, it's mostly overuse of english slang, swear words and phrases that don't fit in.
i suppose it'd be easier to bear if your knowledge of english is less

Don't forget the wrong translations. Take this one for example. Dog girl is telling Leorio that he could acquire skills that take years to learn in a few months only. While Viz's version has it as him wasting months, if not years on the DC. Minor error? I don't think so.

Soooo, there have been 288 hunter exams. Exams are once a year. All of this points to Don Freecs being older than the Hunter organization itself since he's well over 300 years old, having explored the Dark Continent 300 years ago. If he was the originator of the "D Hunter" story, this could make sense too as he would be one of the first hunters, before the Hunter Organization existed. Lots of interesting stuff here.

Agree. They get a lot of money from ad revenue, tried to promote some ios game before and now added bitcoin donations. I hope that in the future we will have official scans available for everyone wordwide for a good price. Then I wouldn't shed a single tear if mangastream got shut down for good. Mangapanda should just burn in hell already.^^

I want to see Gon join the expedition or find some other means of getting to the DC just to see the reactions on this board now. Kurapika and Leorio getting the limelight is fine with me and they could bring something back for Gon but that way is so less controversial.

My joke was based on Ging talking about the author of the book (another Freecs) and therefore we'd probably end up with a search (or hunt) for him. Thus Gon hunting Ging who is hunting that author Freecs. So, Gon > Ging > Don, or Hunter x Hunter x Hunter.
However this comes after Gon "found" his father in that anti-climatic way, so yeah now we'll have to remove the first Hunter (thanks for pointing that out) which gets us back to Hunter x Hunter and completely ruins the joke.

Gon was a monster already even before he acquired Nen at middle of Celestial tower arc. He passed Hunter exam's and reached lvl 200 at celestial tower without even knowing what Nen is and how it is unlocked. Even without help of aura he can most likely lift up to 3000-5000 kg of weight with nothing but with his body alone. He is already an effective superhuman, of course he has lost atleast 90% of his battle power without Nen but he is still quite formidable.

So I finally decided that I'm going to make myself catch up on the anime now that the Arc's nearing completion. I stopped myself from watching right before the palace attack started because I knew that not only the week-to-week wait would bother me, but that the initial narrative would drive me up the wall, onto the roof and make me jump off (and oh has it!). Getting beyond that was just so rewarding though. Just finished episode 116 and that was beautiful. So was the silent black and white from episode 12.
Made me remember why I enjoy this series despite all the dilemmas it's faced courtesy of the author.

Is it me or does it look like Togashi reset Kurapika's development or am i missing something here ? I haven't read York Shin arc for a long time but i remember seeing Kurapika warm up to his friends by the end of that arc , but in the new chapter Kurapika's attitude seem like how it was before York Shin arc .

cause he seems to not give a shit what happened to Gon, and I don't think he would have been like that even pre York shin.I wouldn't say it was reset, it's just that he has been through some things on his quest to recover the eyes, while gon and co were off doing there own thing. Kurapika has been all alone trying to recover his families eyes by any means necessary, and has probably done a lot of things he isn't proud of. Gon ended up threatening an innocent disabled girl, if Gon went that far, who knows what Kurapika has had to do.

Kurapika's just pissed off because he's been out of the story for two and a half arcs now.
Also seems like he's seen a lot of shit while getting his eyes back, but he definitely is more of an asshole now than even during Greed Island.

Zzigg Zoldyck is probably the generation in between Maha and Zeno. Fits in with the timeline pretty well, with Netero dueling Maha and still being old when Zeno was born.
Anyone think, that since Chimera Ants are from the Dark Continent, Netero could have brought back the Ants from his unrecorded trip? It would be pretty ironic.

I think I figured out what exactly is going on with Gon and why from the author's POV. The entire point of his new plot arc is to replace the Jajanken completely. For a series that has so many unique and interesting abilities, Jajanken is relatively stale, boring, and probably not very interesting to write about at this point. Gon's probably being reset in a way in where it'll be written that because Jajanken belonged to the old Gon, the "new" Gon can no longer use it. Meaning that Togashi gets to write up a new ability set for Gon that allows for more variety than what he had in the past.
