Plus, the reason I'm watching the Anime is that apparently, from everything I've been told, Madhouse chose to end the present Anime at a point that most agree is a good endpoint that wraps up everything up to that point fairly decently.

So if Togashi were to never ever continue the manga and therefore Madhouse were to never pick it up and make more Anime, this would feel like a complete series.

I don't know how correct that is, but that was enough to get me on board. If I can have a satisfying-ish conclusion to the current Anime, that'll lessen the need for more so Togashi can pump some more out again.

It's an open ending that resolves some main plot points, not everything but enough to be acceptable as an ending.

Damn, the end of #147 made me almost tear up. The things that duo has been through… sigh Now the fact that Togashi's on another break is even harder to accept. Hopefully he somehow manages to return before the end of the year...

Another thing I'm looking forward to seeing sometime in the future is the adventures of Kite and philosophical koala. Their relationship and the latter's development in particular will be really interesting to read.

Now to watch that last episode tomorrow and finish a looong chapter in my personal HxH book.

So, just an opinion, while storming through episodes.
The series is very enjoyable, with a big variety of great characters, though Gon and Killua still remain the best ones, in my opinion.
I also like Morel and the hippy chameleon, being great side characters.
I can' help, but notice the similarities between Killua/ Illumi and Sasuke/Itachi, though I can' treacly guess, whether it was Kishimoto who ripped off the concept, or did they just have similar ideas. Forgive my ignorance, if I'm wrong in some way.
The Exam arc was good, and the same can be said about the Chimera Ant arc and Greed Island also deserves a praise.

Neither are really that similiar to each other in regards to the off kilter big brother trope. And there is one I just can't remember the name. But Illumi is trying to control Killua for very different reasons than Itachi's very convoluted plan to make Sasuke do whatever it was he intended.

Smash Bros. has consumed me, but I am making a bit of progress in this series. Last episode I saw left off on the cliffhanger of Gon, Kurapica, Leorio, and Ponzu trapped in that cave where the entrance is coated in snakes.
I find it funny watching this, that a LOT feels familiar with Yu Yu Hakusho…

The main team of four feels a lot like them too. Gon (Yusuke - Has good instincts, not a lot in the way of formal fighter training. Is kindof learning as he goes along), Leorio (Kuwabara - Weakest fighter. Walks like a stereotypical Bancho, Not the brightest. Has so far lost all of his actual fights), Kurapica (Kurama - Most tactical. Clearly the thinker of the group. Fierce and brutal fighter when you really make him mad), Killua (Hiei - Cold Hearted killer, easily the strongest and most ruthless of the group at the start. Only goes with the group because he's fascinated by/Respects the Main Character)

On the other hand, no news on when Viz will release the anime in NA. In their last podcast, they mentionned they haven't casted people yet so I'm guessing it's gonna take a while.
