I love that about MHA — quick confrontations. Really ups the sense of danger and urgency in these battles. I hope all the fights are fast.

Yeah, this fight was 3-4 chapters long, which I think is pretty sweet. We didn't need this to be a draggy, volume-sized affair, especially with so many antagonists around.

So, any bets on how long the series is going to last? I know we were joking before about it ending by chapter 350 in a mad rush but that was always a joke.
But I do think this can wrap up by chapter 400, so by this time next year. That would also be the 10th anniversary, so…

What all major plot points are there left to deal with at this point? Toga and Shaggy Manos/All For One?
Between 375 and 400 seems about right.

I think the main one outside of individual characters is somehow addressing and reforming a system that generates and feeds villains.
The fact that the power of the hero's and government appears so fragile kind of highlights just that! Not to mention the reaction from the general population throughout the war.

One half makes ice, one half makes fire. If he's not using one actively, they naturally cancel out. If he doesn't use both, his power overwhelms and hurts him. Like it literally consumed Dabi because he had nothing to regulate his heat.
Endeavor strove to have a child that would use ice powers to regulate himself so he could make more intense heat while protecting himself… but he's going the other way and using his fire powers to let himself go colder. Either way he's protecting hiself from the temp he's blasting by using the opposite to protect him.
I'm wondering how Horikoshi will address that. Changing the law so citizens can use their quirks, giving them more responsibility? Or, Horikoshi could go the vague route and just say things will be different because Team Deku want it to be and leave it at that.
Well, we've already had the shift from when the series started where it was Deku's "This is the story about how I became the greatest hero" to "this is the story about how WE became the greatest heroes" so I think moving it away from a single superman figure being trusted to handle everything and into being something the entire community does is the solution he's heading for.

My impression was very much that Bakugo's heart exploded internally rather than getting punctured by Shigaraki- the rupture seemed to extend outward and the impact panel of Shiggy's blow didn't feel clear enough to justify being apparently fatal.
Very curious to see how this is resolved and what it all means. I've seen a boatload of theories on how Bakugo might be saved but my favorite is Overhaul saving him.

I think the way Bakugo's heart exploded - outward-inward or inward-outward - is a distinction without difference it highly, highly unlikely that he will remain dead. Given that Hori is averse to risk taking and with Loli backpack there are ways to revert this.

But would it make sense having Eri there? Not sure Aizawa would sign off on that. Anyway, I'm not liking this fight as much as Endeavor VS AFO. AFO is more interesting, but I'll applaud Horikoshi if Bakugo stays dead.

Yeah, the finale happened. It was good but it's a shame Pop and Koichi weren't in the same place. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a bonus chapter or two dedicated to them. And I'm hoping Skycrawler is one of the international heroes who'll come in to help. I just can't see Koichi not coming back to Japan to help in some way. -
Some bold, yet spot on analysis on Bakugo.
And no @Nectar I don't think Eri is in UA right NOW, but if she could revert her father into a fetus I bet she can revert a stopped heart into a beating one. But yes, keeping Bakugo dead would be the most bold move for Hori, in probably his whole career so far.On Koichi coming back, I just gave up that dream. It's not happening.

It feels like the chapter could've been cool if it had proper build up, and the idea of having another person for your heart is creepy in an interesting way.
I can't take the rest seriously though. What's the point of Bakugo exploding his heart? How is Edgeshot relevant to anything? How can a paper guy replace a heart? Is this another case of important character developement being left to vigilantes?
The one good thing is that AfO didn't get a magical reset. I was dreading his fight resetting and becoming uneccesarily long. Being on a timer is way better.

It's weird, I'll give you that. I guess Hori was going for the noble sacrifice route, but it just feels out of place. Mostly because I don't understand how Edgeshot's quirk can do that.

I wish! Best Jeanist and Edgeshot teamed up near the end of Vigs but that's about all we got. Most of the Pro-heroes seriously lack being fully fleshed out.

Sylar looks like Agni. I wonder if he takes any damage since he is being rewounded and will turn into a child then a foetus before disappearing?
I didnt buy into the death until Deku show up so him surviving doesnt surprise me. I would have prefered him being saved by jeanist instead of Edgeshot. More emotional connection(even if we barely see them as mentor-mentee).

Yep, that's pretty much me because I the most emotional connection I had with the guy is chuckling at the name because it reminds me of Edgelord and Cumshot.

Sacrificing an almost nameless character to save a beloved one, is simply the easy way out that this author is so fond of taking. Like all those heroes that we barely knew that have died. Having no emotional connection to sacrifices makes them basically meaningless but that is just the way things are in this manga.

Maybe I'm late to this, but after seeing that scarf cape thing that Shigaraki has, I think he is an Akira reference.

I like Shigaraki's will wavering by being unable to break something. It's neat and fits with his brand of villainy. Reminds me of people in real life.
Mirko is badass, though the damage is bordering on too grotesque. I think my favorite part was Lemillion hindering Shigaraki by obscuring his vision with his hands. Simple yet creative and a good use of his power.
But like usual the chapter is hard to follow, both the fight and narrative. Bakugo's predicament feels out of place, and it's hard for the other heroes' emotions to hit home when all but one have zero ties to Bakugo. Why do they care so much about this random student that they're willing to die? The only part here I'm invested in is Jeanist, but he's little more than a commentator. Not a fan of the close-up of a damaged heart either, this isn't the series for that.
I think if these chapters only featured Bakugo and Jeanist they'd feel a lot better, even with the confusing pages.

The fighting reminded some Toriko characters dealing with Neo. Its kind of fun.
The bubble from wash feel convenient an uneeded. I'm glad the plan is making surture thing not tturning into an heart. That makes a lot more sense.
Facepalm body making people without it being a power is really pushing the whole "he's not using his quirks guys I promise"
